So scary about the active shooter at Ohio State!! My bosses daughter called this morning walking to class. Talked to her dad until she made it safely to class. My friends nephew is in the building around the corner from the building they have surrounded. UGH! What is wrong with people?!?!

My oldest grandson proposed to his long time girlfriend in front of Santa who was riding on a firetruck during the parade in our Nation's Capitol while wearing his firefighter uniform (he graduated from the Police Academy and Firefighter College so he can do either job when the opportunity calls for it - his brother is a firefighter and taking the paramedic course for a similar reason).

Santa announced to the crowd that she said, "YES!" I'm delighted that he chose such a special and merry event to "pop the question"; looks like I helped raise a Christmas Lover!!! -smooch-

Happy Monday everyone ~
Busy day so far. My daughter had a dentist appointment this morning, then we ran a couple of errands afterward. Just catching up on the laundry and getting a pot of chicken soup started for dinner. I have to run a couple of more errands this afternoon, back home to do some more decorating. My goal is to get two more trees up & decorated by this evening. Fingers crossed. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Work Christmas party done. We had a record turn out (88 employees out of the 90 who had signed up) and it was a lot of fun and a real success. I'm just happy it's over though, it's so much preparations each year. I'm monitoring my cold, I get bad coughing fits after the smallest exertion. May be bronchitis, I don't know. I'm giving myself until Wednesday and if there's no improvement, I'll go to the clinic. Now some much needed rest. I work at 1pm tomorrow, hopefully I can relax. Good night everyone!

Take care of that cough ... it could turn into something nasty. Hot tea with lemon and honey can be very soothing when you have chest congestion.

You're right, they'll get done in time! In the meantime, the hard part (the lights) is done, and it's shining through our front window at night. It's already so beautiful with only the lights on it! I hope I can find time during the weekend to decorate it.

Poor Laura only has two buds, and I can't see any more starting. I'm so disappointed, because she grew so rapidly and beautifully after I trimmed her branches back a bit. Maybe that tired her out ... I was so hoping to see a bud on each new branch this year! She's usually in full bloom by this time.

You are so right - the lights on the tree look so pretty at night - even if there are no decorations! I'm hoping by the end of the night, I'm as far as you! I put some lights on the inside of each row as I put up the tree, so at least those lights will be on. But hoping to get all of them on tonight! xx

I hope Laura surprises you with many more blooms. Maybe she will bloom in Jan/Feb? Jackie is still blooming like crazy - on one half. One half bloomed out a month or so ago, and now the other half is full of flowers. Crazy plants!!! :D

I picked up an Amaryllis at Walmart on Friday. Need to get that planted tonight too!
