Christmas Countdown - 2017

[Holiday]

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I worked like a pack mule Saturday. Mom's A/C hasn't worked well for a few months, and it finally quit a couple weeks ago. My brother has a friend in the business who helped us order a new unit at cost, and he agreed to help us install it. I used to work part-time for an HVAC contractor while I was in college, so I thought I would be a big help. It turns out that my 30 year old experience is out of date, and so is my 52 year old body! We got it done, though!

Jacob sang Friday night with the University Singers, and again Sunday afternoon in an opera. Both shows were great, although I confess that opera just isn't my thing. I love choir, barbershop, jazz, ballet, and most musicals, but not opera. I guess I'm just not sophisticated enough LOL.

I vacuumed the pool again yesterday afternoon, and I can finally see the bottom! Maybe it won't be too long.

Merry Monday! And we have some clouds again today..ugh but it is supposed to warm up a bit today but cooler later in the week. Just work for me and my daughter has a softball game tonight. Otherwise should be a quiet day. Hope you all enjoy it!

This was Friday, and it was the same Saturday. Luckily, it was only 90°F yesterday. Struggling to get the pool open!

Pheww..thats almost Alabama weather this time of year.
I bet there is a red ant pile in that patch of grass just waiting for the unsuspecting person to come by.

CGYager-When did you sing with Up With People? They were at the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, TN. At some point in the show, they pulled people from the crowd & I was one of those people. I don't remember what we had to do, but my parent's have a picture of their 9 year old being a part of the World's Fair entertainment!

The heavens opened up & holy guacamole did we have rain!! ALL DAY & night Saturday into Sunday morning...and then again Sunday afternoon!!! Actually we headed to the Dayton area yesterday & I believe you all had a little more rain than we did! At least we are seeing some sunshine this morning!
Hope your son had fun at prom #2!!

The rain was crazy! I hope you did not get caught in the mess from the tanker explosion on I75. WOW!

Prom went well. We won some money at after prom too.

Just got home from a great school event. Tonight was our top scholars award banquet. There is a great dinner and awards ceremony. The members from National Honor Society are recognized as are many scholarship awards. Also, each department at the high school gives an award to a senior. It is such a wonderful event to showcase the hard work and dedication of the students. I know the "youth" get a bad rap a lot of times, but trust me, there are some really wonderful kiddos doing some amazing things. Tonight was a a great reminder of why I teach.

Good morning ~
I didn't sleep well, we had thunderstorms passing through and poor Maggie barked for hours. Looks like it's clearing up now, it's going to be partly sunny today with highs near 70. I have to do some food shopping this morning. I also need to pick up a script for Maggie's cough suppressant at the veterinarian and have that filled. Back home afterward to work on my daily chores. Not too much else going on. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Morning MMC! Hope everyone had a good 1st day of May. It was pretty crazy how many people made comments to me about how they "could not believe it's ALREADY May." I guess we at MMC aren't the only ones saying time is going ridiculously fast this year. Looks like we will see temps close to 70 today with partly sunny skies. A beautiful May day. After that looks like more of a cooler pattern for the 2nd half of this week into next week as well. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

Wow, May already. Lots of rain here too and more coming today.
It has been a crazy busy 3 days for me, look forward to back to work and some routine.
grad, party and tests all done.

Hopefully the rain goes soon and it warms up again, the last few days have been chilly and the furnace is not working. Glad it at least is not winter.

Had some rain yesterday evening and were under a severe thunderstorm watch but nothing significant materialized. Today is predicted to be sunny with a high in the upper 70's.
(Sounds pretty nice!)
Currently, we are situated at 63 degrees here in the central part of the state, under cloudless and sunny skies.
