Christmas Countdown - 2017

[Holiday]

Greetings one and all on this last day of August. The weather has been really nice here and I'm getting the yard in shape and preparing to do some limb burning this weekend. Not a whole lot planned until Monday and that is going to be mostly music, some movies and a ton of rest and BBQ time.
Probably on Tuesday, I will take a hard look at the front yard for the upcoming Christmas display and see how many stakes I will need for the corral. Fall is almost here and I can feel it coming with anticipation...

morning everyone and a happy Friday eve to one and all. The kids have started to go back to school that that can only mean one thing, yes, the suns come out for the first time in a month. More importantly however, the summer is drawing to a close and the 'bers have arrived. I might sit up to midnight to toast them in with a nice cup of tea.

Thank you Holiday and enjoy your Buckeye game this evening. I see where they are ranked just behind Alabama at #2. Sometimes I wish there was no rankings until at least the first week of games were completed. Have fun. Too bad the first game is not at the horseshoe...

I agree! And I don't like when they are ranked up there so high! It would be even more exciting if it were at the shoe! Makes me a little nervous - IU always seems to have our number!

Merry Thursday ~
I've been busy this morning, I was up and out early to run some errands. Tidied up the house, vaccuumed and started laundry. Just sitting down with a cup of coffee & relaxing for a few minutes. I need to finish up my Labor Day menu and grocery list. I am beyond excited about the 'Bers. I am having my husband carry down all of my Autumn decor on Saturday. Can't wait to decorate. I hope everyone is having a nice day so far

Merry Morning to all,

Happy to report the wood burning stove installation is over !
We still have the stonework behind the stove and around the fire place as well as a mantel to fit but here is a pic of it so far. The smell of the wood burning is lovely! The nights are drawing in now and the autumn chill is moving in so we are blessed to have it just in time!

Oh I am so jealous .. I want a wood burning stove.. Maybe I can fit one into our budget next year. Will have to get some quotes to see if I can make that happen.

All this apple talk reminds me that the orchard opens Friday for U pick. Fall is almost here!!!

Nothing like picking apples on a cool fall morning and finishing it off with hot coffee and fresh apple cider donuts! Best time of year!
