Sounds like so much fun. I'm jealous!!Labor Day weekend ribs are on the menu. Just placed a emergency order with the butcher shop and they gave me a buy 2 racks get 2 free deal. Looks like it will be a smoking marathon this weekend..lol Now I inform my neighbor on it, so everyone else will get the menu.
Morning ,Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!! We had FOG this morning! Schools were closed or delayed. Crazy! I guess it's that time of year!Lucy had never seen fog before!
The Amish Haystacks at Moms last night were delicious, as well as the homemade ice cream! YUM! I went home to get Lucy to meet the family but before I got out, there was a doggie party in the neighbors yard. Lucy got to meet 5 of the neighbor dogs. They had a blast. Then she got to meet the family. She was wiped out!.

I may not have met Gracie but ever since you got her I have made jokes with you about us being partners in crime and making mischief together
Just want to let you know that I was terribly sad to hear of her loss and your hurt. It may sound strange but I will also miss her too. Isn't that just crazy? She was so lucky to have you guys as her family. She had a blessed life even if short (((hugs)) Okay enough! 
I am looking forward to getting to know my new pal ... Lucy!! Love the name!

Merry Morning to all,
Happy to report the wood burning stove installation is over !
We still have the stonework behind the stove and around the fire place as well as a mantel to fit but here is a pic of it so far. The smell of the wood burning is lovely! The nights are drawing in now and the autumn chill is moving in so we are blessed to have it just in time!

Morning MMC! Happy Last Day of August and Last Non-Bers Day of 2017. Let that sink in. I can't believe that the summer has come and almost gone. I'm ready for the Bers though! Best months of the year. For the last day of August just a normal day at work and hopefully a good evening after. Looks like we'll see a high of 81 with partly sunny skies and a chance of a shower. Hope you all enjoy your last day of August!
Farewell to August and the last official days of summer. Bittersweet as always.
Hope you guys had a memorable summer with lots of warm memories to take you through the cold Winter

As we stand on the threshold of the first of the 'Ber months, we look back and take stock of the year to date.
The ever-declining count.
All the Milestones passed.
The fun times at the Shispering Pines.
And tomorrow, we enter the most exciting time of the year.
The first of the 'Bers!
The launch of Christmas Blossoms 2017!
The start of a period when things just seem to move more quickly!
Thus, we once again present the daily numbers:
Days to the Season: 74
Days to Christmas Day: 116
And we further note that our Christmas Day count has diminished to just 16 days to the 100-Day window and the beginning of a double, double-digit count.
(Two weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
The nice weather holds and it was almost fall-like here yesterday.
Said conditions should continue for today and Friday, before somewhat warmer weather returns for the weekend.
Currently, our thermometer informs us that it is 71 degrees outside.
Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everybody.
And get ready for another great Weekend Eve!

Good morning MMC! It's "Friday" for me! But I want to enjoy my Friday off work so I'll still say Merry Friday Eve!!! 
I can't believe it's the last day of August! How did that happen!?
I also can't believe tonight is the 1st Buckeye game!!! LOVE IT! We are putting the big screen up at the lake, building a fire (we're going to need it - brrrr) making some tailgate snacks & planning to enjoy a nice fall like night! Thanks to @Minta talking about her Thanksgiving pepperoni bread, that's what I'm making for tonight! Our lake friends/neighbors are so excited to meet Little Lucy tonight. She's going to get so spoiled - again!
On my way to work this morning I noticed a house up the road from us had their porch steps lined with pumpkins. Fall signs are popping up everywhere! I went to DG last night & bought some more Pumpkin Pie candles to burn at work! I have one going now!

I am doing better every day. I definitely still have my moments. Seeing the lake neighbors/friends for the 1st time tonight will be another one of them moments. I'm confident Lucy will do something cute to make us laugh!

Greetings one and all on this last day of August. The weather has been really nice here and I'm getting the yard in shape and preparing to do some limb burning this weekend. Not a whole lot planned until Monday and that is going to be mostly music, some movies and a ton of rest and BBQ time.
Probably on Tuesday, I will take a hard look at the front yard for the upcoming Christmas display and see how many stakes I will need for the corral. Fall is almost here and I can feel it coming with anticipation...

Oh I love it Festive! I'm sure you will get much enjoyment out of that. I'm jealous ~ I love the smell of a wood burning stove in the home! I miss that!
