You and me both! And it was cloudy yesterday, so it was dark even earlier.
I don't really make my peace with that early-dark situation until the Halloween season!

LOL! I can relate to that!! Love lights on at night when it's dark early! Especially CHRISTMAS lights!

Very true ~ I never thought of Gracie Allen! Well I did when we named Miss Gracie, but I had not thought about her naming Lucy - only Lucille Ball & my Gracie! Sounds like double trouble to me!

Labor Day weekend ribs are on the menu. Just placed a emergency order with the butcher shop and they gave me a buy 2 racks get 2 free deal. Looks like it will be a smoking marathon this weekend..lol Now I inform my neighbor on it, so everyone else will get the menu.

What time did you say those ribs will be ready??? Your neighborhood will be smelling good!

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!! We had FOG this morning! Schools were closed or delayed. Crazy! I guess it's that time of year! Lucy had never seen fog before!

The Amish Haystacks at Moms last night were delicious, as well as the homemade ice cream! YUM! I went home to get Lucy to meet the family but before I got out, there was a doggie party in the neighbors yard. Lucy got to meet 5 of the neighbor dogs. They had a blast. Then she got to meet the family. She was wiped out!.

Morning Holiday. Certainly sounds like Lucy has made herself right at home. I'm glad for that. The last time I actually had a puppy in my home, I slept with him on the bathroom floor the first couple of nights while we were training him to keep down the whining. Don't know if I could still do that now... lol

Funny you say that b/c she likes to lay on the bathroom floor while I get ready in the morning. She didn't do too bad with whining last night. She was so tired when we put her in the cage. She whined at 2am to go outside & then she whined a bit after we put her back in, but then she settled down. I don't think I want to crawl in the cage with her!

Funny you say that b/c she likes to lay on the bathroom floor while I get ready in the morning. She didn't do too bad with whining last night. She was so tired when we put her in the cage. She whined at 2am to go outside & then she whined a bit after we put her back in, but then she settled down. I don't think I want to crawl in the cage with her!

Good Morning MMC...happy Wednesday!! My kiddos started back to school today. My youngest one in a new school since she is now in middle school. The school has some fun things planned this week so hopefully she will have an easy transition.
I have been watching those devastating reports on Houston...so heartbreaking for the families and all the pets that had to be left behind.
Just working today and I am going to catch up on some laundry tonight.

OK. Labor Day looms.
And the Crowns are off to the cottage for the extended weekend and to clean up after another rental season.
I will post the daily count this Friday morning, but then a volunteer (or volunteers) will be needed for Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings (Sept 2-4).

Next Wednesday is the 1st day of school here and I really look forward to it. Something about seeing the kids around and the buses makes me realize Fall is really here.

Honeycrisp are my favorite too! They spoiled me ~ besides Fuji they are the only kind I will buy for eating plain!

Well the weather is definitely more like fall then end of summer. Had to throw an extra blanket on the bed last night as closing the window was not an option LOL. Loving the cool crisp fresh air in the house. Suppose to climb into the low to mid 80s for a few day this weekend before dropping back down to the low to mid 70s for the highs. Kids have 1 week of summer vacation left before starting school and they are less happy about it each day LOL.

I have been slowing working on cleaning and re-arranging my kitchen cabinets this week. Making a master list of what I need to shop for and stock up on before the BER Holidays arrive. I think during the next month I am going to make some freezer meals to get us through those busy days/nights that are quickly approaching. Trying to get as prepared as possible for the holidays before they get here so I can enjoy them more.
