Christmas Countdown - 2017

Finally took down 1 of the trees yesterday and undecorated the 2nd in prep for Valentines Day decorating. Of course this meant I could only find 1/2 of the V Day stuff which seems to have become lost.

It's here. It's really here!

Days to the Season: 300
Days to Christmas Day: 342

And indeed, today we open the 300-day Season Window Milestone and invite a 200's level Season count in to entertain us for the next 100 days.
(Really moving along now and it's still mid January. Wow!)


It was pretty overcast here yesterday which kept the temperatures down.
Today should see the sun return along with warmer temp readings.
We have commenced the morning at 50 degrees here in the capital city and for now it is still cloudy.

Good Tuesday morning! A much-needed day off today and my goal is to not do too much and try and enjoy my time off as much as possible. I have tons of things on dvr to catch up on. Hubby is coming down with the cold, so I'll take care of chores and some grocery shopping this morning. Have a great day everyone!

How nice! Sounds like a perfect day! (minus your hubby coming down with a cold) Enjoy your day off. Praying your hubby gets over his cold quick!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I didn't get the try the new smoker yesterday, either, doggone it. It seems like our lives have gotten that busy again. We have to be somewhere every day of the week. Maybe one day I can smoke something.

It's crazy foggy this morning. Days like this I worry about Jacob commuting to school. He has to drive about 30 miles, and a lot of it is 2-lane country roads. Still, he's turned into a pretty safe driver. Of course, that doesn't prevent me from feeling like I need to send a prayer his way!

Oh bummer!! Smoking is definitely not a quick process!! I hope you get to try it out very soon!!

I'll send a prayer for Jacob's safety also. A prayer never hurts!!!

My goodness, it never rains but it pours. I'm sorry your mom and your mom #2 are having such a hard time. Sending prayers for both, and for you, too!

No kidding! Just got word that a lady from town here who is now a permanent resident in the NH, who my mom goes to visit - has pneumonia! She's now confined to her room. What the heck is going on?!

I really hope they were able to stabilize your mom's blood coagulant. I never had to have a vitamin K shot when I was on coumadin but for weeks I was not "stable" and had to have daily blood drawn and my dose constantly adjusted. Hope your mom is still on track to be discharged this week. And I'll be keeping your mom #2 is my thoughts as well.

Thanks Martine! I know it's tough to get that Coumadin regulated. They will be testing her daily now. So far she is on track to go home this week, provided she has no other set backs!! xx I'm sure we will be making many trips to the Drs. office to get her blood tested for awhile. Thankfully it's only a mile from Moms home.

Good Morning, MMC!!! Its going to be another overcast day here with temps falling from around 60 overnight to 40's this afternoon. Speaking of 60's overnight, mother nature needs to make up her mind. I'm tired of having to add and take off blankets every night. I've went from 4 to 2 back up to 3 down to 1 back to 2 and now back down to 1 in 8 days. Nothing to much planned for today. Just gotta do some laundry and cleaning. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!

I agree! Mother nature has lost her mind. Have "fun" doing laundry & cleaning!!

Merry Tuesday everyone,
Hope you all are doing good and had a nice weekend.

We had a fire at work on Sunday. A hotel nearby allowed us to use their function room while we waited. Our belongings were left behind in the building upon immediate evacuation. So we had no coats, handbag, keys etc. It was a couple hours before we could go back in. Had to sort a couple things out and then left but by then it was almost quitting time anyway! No one was hurt. Not sure of the extent of the damage on the particular floor it happened. My floor is okay.

Was aiming for a quiet day off yesterday but woke up to an alert in the morning that the school is closed due to flood damage so the boys are home. Hoping to hear more news from the school today. Seems part of their roof fell in with all the rain/winds we have been having.

Well got to dash but I will pop back later if I can.

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday!!!

What a night we had last night. Mom was home for the day when my sis got a call from the nursing home saying she had to be back by 6 b/c her INR was way too high. (blood too thin from Coumadin) - they wanted to do another blood draw at 6pm. Not sure what the rush was...but anyway...we had her back....and her blood wasn't drawn until 7. Grrrr! She was SO HAPPY to be home for them few hours anyway. Her blood was still very thin from that blood draw so they gave her a Vit K shot this morning. But in the mean time my Mom #2 (my best friends mom - and my moms neighbor) was admitted to the hospital - congestive heart failure. She called me in a panic, wanting me to take her to the hospital. I had just arrived for my hair apt. Thankfully her niece was able to take her. So after work tonight I get to go to the nursing home AND the hospital. I can think of better places to hang out!

Rainy morning here. It looked like night time when I came to work this morning. It's lighter now, but still very cloudy!!

Morning MMC! Into the 2nd half of January I noticed this morning a few more houses lights are down. But one of my favorite houses that lights this Christmas tree right in their window every year is still up and lit. It always makes me think of Christmas Eve cause I walk right by it every year on my walk on Christmas Eve. Great to see it still up into the 2nd half of January. Just another busy day at work for me today. Is it just me or does it already seem like 2017 is moving kind of steadily and quickly?

Merry Tuesday and milestone day!! I had a nice long weekend and back at the grind today. My oldest daughter has mid-terms this week so I am going to pick her up at 12. My youngest daughter has basketball practice tonight. I have a pot roast in the crockpot so that will make it for an easy meal! Hope you all enjoy your day!

Thanks SFM! Dad was on Coumadin for 17 years so they had his pretty much down to a science but every once in awhile his blood would get too thin & he would have to skip every other day for awhile. Hopefully Mom will only be on it for a few months. & she doesn't have any issues!
I'm not sure when my tree will come down. I don't like to do it on my weekend () but it's been tough after work with going to the NH every night.
