I hope everyone has been more productive than me this holiday season! Thanksgiving is fast approaching and all I have so far is the turkey. I've got to get to the store this weekend and buy the rest of the meal. And I'm so behind on my Christmas shopping! I normally start in July when the Christmas spirit starts to hit but this year I JUST started last week.Four kids on Christmas morning so it usually takes starting early! When we bought this house, the first thing I did was change the knob on my closet door to one with a key JUST for a place to hide presents.
It's looking sad in there to be this close to Christmas! I'm hoping to get most of it done next weekend. My oldest has just asked for clothes so that's easy enough. I have no clue where to start with the others. I ask for lists and I get the dreaded "I don't know". I've been looking into the Meccano robot Max for my son. When I showed my daughter, she said don't buy that for him, I want that! Lol. She's my little helper since she found out about Santa two years ago. It's nice to be able to talk about presents with her but sad too that they're getting older.
Guess I'll be shopping with the crowds this year!
Update on the kitten since we took the tree down.. she found another, but I'm sure it's not quite as fun for her.

Good Thursday midday! It rained last night and this morning. Just a few degrees colder and it would have been snow. I'm finally starting to catch up on all my work. And the preparations for our work Christmas party are coming along. I was given the weirdest/funniest nickname by an employee this morning: Microsoft Excel. Yes, she said I should be called Microsoft Excel because I am so organized. I laughed so much, that made my day. Hope everyone is having a great one!
Seasonal Update: Christmas lights are beginning to glow all over town...An apartment community deck had a couple of railing strands, but a nearby apartment balcony put that offering to shame with seven strands stacked in neat rows from the railing...Not to be outdone(Psychic Light Network?) an apartment balcony, five minutes northwest, had an awesome, multi color display that ran from the overhang above to the floor of their balcony. That was followed below with a display in sharp contrast with its neighbor's using white lights and negative space...Finally, not too far from home, a large, round, outdoor pine had white lights spiraled about it. This matched with the next two houses(!) on the block using similar lights to complete the life size diorama.
Thanks Martine! xx She was good in her cage this morning but at lunch she had a little (very little) diarrhea again. I think I'll give her a couple tablespoons of oatmeal tonight. Jim is off work tomorrow so if he has to take her in, that is an option.

So after being fine for about 40 hours or so, little miss Lu had us up every couple hours overnight again with the poopers! She acts totally fine & crazy. This morning I couldn't get her to go, she just wanted to PLAY!! Hopefully she's fine in her cage this morning until I get home for lunch. So strange!
Well last night while running errands I saw 2 more homes with big bright glowing multi colored lighted tree's in their windows!! YAY!! LOVE LOVE LOVE to see that!!

Elizabeth's One-Act Play State competition was awesome, and the kids put on their best performance yet! Alas, there were only three places awarded out of eight schools, and ours was not among them.
Later, I'm taking Nancy's car for an oil change, getting ready for our mountains vacation starting Saturday! Yippee!!

Good Friday morning! I have a day off but a ton of things to do. Other than chores at home, I have to pick-up my battery-operated Christmas lights held at the post office, go grocery shopping, find cone-shaped treat bags for party favours, pick-up photos, shop for a dress for our work Christmas party, continue work on the video montage for said party and a playlist. But I'll have another day off on Sunday after a colleague asked me to switch days off, so I'll relax then. Have a wonderful day everyone!
Morning MMC! Well as we head towards the weekend and the last one before Thanksgiving I had a car issue this week. My car got stuck 2 times so I brought it to my mechanic (who we've been going to as a family for 30 years) and he checked out the battery 1st time, ran tests on the alternator 2nd time, wasn't sure which it was so gave me one of HIS batteries to drive around for a week. Long story less long I had no problems with it so it was obviously the battery. Went back to get my battery from him to exchange for one at the store (which I had a warranty on so got it for free) and after all this he charges me a grand total of $20. I'm telling you it's good to have an honest mechanic that you know who will give you a break. He could have easily charged me a couple of hundred bucks for the time he took with it.
