(I hope that's a little clearer than mud ... )
Ahh, yes. Thank you!! I was afraid I had inadvertently reposted the message a few times trying to quote it.

It's great to be around so many like-minded folks! And we don't have to wait for Christmas. We have Christmas in July, then the "Ber's (September, October, November & December)! I start really getting in the spirit in September, even though is still hot here in the south), so I only have 8 months to go!

We're glad you're here with us!
Thanks Bradmac! I've gotten some good ideas here about what to do w/ the time in between. Only 7-8 months (depending on how you look at it) to go before the Bers.

I am coming to the realization that it is over, I am holding on to my Christmas music on my phone only because I know it will be nearly 10 whole months until it will be socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music full time. I love it so much., but the writing is on the wall for me to make that switch. I think I will be taking my trees down on MLK day, my day off after next weekend.
Just got finished listening to "Yuletide Classics" on Slacker. No one at work is the wiser.

Good afternoon. I was going to stop at grocery store by work to get more of the holiday creamer before they are gone until late fall. My kids love drinking hot chocolate with a splash of the International Delight Sugar Cookie creamer. Will stop at the store tomorrow after work as I have to take our puppy back to the vet tonight. Well she is not so much a puppy as she will be year old later this month but she was spayed 2 weeks ago and got loose the other and had a blast running around and making the kids chase after her. Well now her incision site is swollen, larger then an egg but smaller then a tennis ball with small seepage in one spot which is why the vet wans to see her. She acting normal with the exception of this bulge which just may be a collection of fluid.

Still cold today however they say we are suppose to warm up towards 50/60 degrees by the end of the week.

Have a great day!

The overall atmosphere has been most impressive to me!
Lol..it wont take long to figure out which ones of us are more "Christmas Crazy". We all have a good time though, enjoy your stay and make the most out of it.
Lol..(Once you go "Crazy" no amount of medication can bring ya back)

Our supply of Nestle Peppermint powdered creamer has dried up in the stores. Now its Amazon to get it.... seems to never fail.

Well I have quite a few UFO's at my house then. LOL! Love it! ;)

I have the same problem you do!! I'm not good at granny squares though b/c I don't have the patience to sew (or crochet) them together!!
It helps if you leave a long tail on the last round of each square, so you can sew it to another one. It also helps to make strips of granny squares the length of the afghan, then sew the strips together. There are also ways to crochet squares together.

I tend to work on squares or motifs (or winter hats) in the summertime, when it's too hot to work on an afghan in my lap. This time of year, though, I love working on a one-piece afghan when it's about two-thirds done! It keeps me cozy while it's still being made!

Yes, I am not looking forward to the flight. I am an antsy traveler...and that is a LONG day of flying!!! My SIL gave me "A Dogs Purpose" to read & she is sending the 2nd book in the series also. I also have some books & movies downloaded to my kindle.
Ken's House of Pancakes & the Loco Moco looks interesting!! Thanks for the tip!
A Kindle is a traveler's best friend!

The travel agent said the other side of the Island is typically more rainy! Hopefully we have good weather.
I can tell you from experience that the Hilo side is the rainy side of the island! You can expect a shower almost every day, at any time of day, at a moment's notice...and sometimes it'll be rainy down in Hilo, but partially clear as you drive up the mountain, or vice versa. But when we go, we're there to spend time with Gloria, so the weather doesn't matter too much. It's glorious when the sun shines, though!

I keep an iTunes library of soft Christmas instrumentals on my workplace computer. When I need to chill, I put on the headphones and have at it. My favorites for that purpose are Hawaiian slack-key guitar renditions of Christmas songs.
