Girls had a fab time CGYager...It was not too stressful either...Girls didn't make too much noise or mess:)
WOW... you've got to put those young ladies up for all the rest of us to see. A group like that with limited mess and noise? Way to go Dad!
-smile-

Good Morning, Fearless Friends!

"Fearless"??
Well, you have to be pretty fearless to not be intimidated by the latest numbers release:
Days to the Season: 289
Days to Christmas Day: 331

Now brace yourselves and show no fear, because you must face the startling fact that we are now down to a scant 15 days away from the ONE QUARTER Milestone to the start of Christmas Season 2017 -- TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!
(Time is already starting to get away from us.......and it's still January!)

Sure enough, the weather service was correct and yesterday was much colder than Thursday. Now, we are facing lows in the mid 20's and highs in the mid 40's by Monday. (At least there is supposed to be no precipitation.)
We currently record 33 chilly but sunny and calm degrees here in the capital city of the great state of North Carolina, home of the Panthers who WILL do better next year.

Have a Sensational Saturday Everyone, and a Wildly Way-Out Weekend, too!
And a crisp 24 here in SDland. Sorry about your Panthers, but I always thought Ryan deserved that shot at the big game. I will be ready to watch it one week from tomorrow... GO Falcons!!

Good Saturday morning, Christmas friends!

Can you tell I'm up early? LOL Nancy must've had a bad dream. She woke me up at 4am, wanting me to put my arm around her. Next thing I know, she's snoring and my arm is going to sleep. I finally got up at 5am.

And then I realize I'm out of K-Cups!! I'll have to wait for my FIL to open his store at 7am before I can get some coffee!

The auction last night was a bust. It was a fishing-themed night, and they had a million fishing poles, tackle boxes, etc, but I have enough of that stuff. Maybe next week.

I hope y'all have a great weekend!:D
Morning Brad. K-Cups? Sorry, I still set the timer on Mr Coffee and have that pot brewed and hot when I get off work. In fact having some now. Sorry about your auction and have a fun weekend.

Good Saturday morning! The plan for today is to get everything done (chores and errands) so that tomorrow hubby and I can just relax and catch up on the dvr and watch movies. Have a great weekend everyone!
Morning Martine. Hopefully your weekend plan achieves all you hope for. My wife and I will be doing some of that after tomorrow when I begin a nine day off stretch. Especially all our CW shows...

I do know what you mean. That is why there are things up all year round in my home. They may change from year to year, but Christmas never really goes away.
Enjoy.

And that's the thing. There really is never any letting it go entirely or completely. I say things like that under the assumption that there will always still be a small percentage of my thoughts on Christmas and the holidays throughout the year.

It's so crazy to think how it was only just a week ago that I finally put my tree out and lights and decorations away. With it being the last weekend in January, there's still that faint connection we can all make to the holiday season just by way of it not having been all that long ago this month that things were still ablaze everywhere with Christmas.

:D

That made me laugh :p

Yeah, with the Panthers and Packers out, I'll pull for the Falcons.

K-Cups are those little single-cup coffee thingies for the Keurig coffee maker. Like this, my favorite:

Good morning, Christmas friends. It has already been quite the day here! Been up since 5 doing college work and then went to buy groceries. Got some supper going in the crockpot and now we are about to head to a little ones birthday party. After that, it will be nap time for me!!!

The temp is pretty cool here topping out at 42. Hoping to catch some time outside later today. Hope y'all have a great day! See you tomorrow for coffee!

Good evening Merry. I hope you find some time to relax this weekend. I have been on far too many where you have so many commitments that it's time to go back to work before you even know it.
Thank you, CG!
I got some stuff out of the way this morning, so we're going out for some lunch shortly. (Looking forward to that ... yesterday was so crazy for both of us that neither of us got a proper lunch or dinner!) Afterward I'll decide whether I want to get ahead on housecleaning, or leave it until tomorrow morning and relax. We're having a friend over tomorrow afternoon.

I couldn't watch the coverage at work, but the highlights I've seen afterwards makes it the most civil event that's happened in DC in a while. No filthy-mouthed "celebrities" or burning trash cans anywhere LOL.

Good to see you!
I think I'd like to crochet one of those pink hats sometime ...

Hey folks! How is everyone?
Today has been tax day! No fun, but at least I am getting them done.
Tomorrow I need to write a paper for my Master's class. My wife turns in her Master's Thesis tonight and she is done.

The weather here in Ohio finally turned cold again. We had some snow showers yesterday and they are calling for more snow showers tomorrow evening and night. Maybe a school delay or cancellation on Monday?

Well, back to laundry and taxes.
Have a great day everyone!

Happy Saturday! I took down all my Christmas stuff down and put it away last night but I did leave out my snowman light and my little gold waxed trees, they glow at night so it will add some nice light to my living room. Hope you all have a great day!

Hello I'm new here to the forum and am really happy to have found the site. I began noticing about nine years ago after Christmas had passed just how much I missed it. I live in the northeast where January and February are cold and kinda flat following the Christmas season. Nine years ago I began my own little countdowns looking ahead to the next holiday season. I started out with telling myself 36 ten day stretches would get me back to five days from Christmas and somehow that sounded like not such a long wait. I Also told myself there are only 26 two week stretches in a year and that also didn't seem to bad seeing how two weeks goes so fast. Since then I have focused on 1/4, 1/3,halftime, 2/3 and 3/4 marks. My big goal every year seems to be to reach August 1, which brings a new football season, and puts so many great holidays within reach such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas! Kinda nice I can say it's halfway to August 1 in just a couple days now. Anyway to make a long story short I was happy to find this group that seems to enjoy counting it down in the same way I do! I really find the grind through the year is kind of as fun as the season itself. Once Christmas season arrives it is epic, but goes by in a flash putting us right back in January, and so it is important to enjoy all times of the year. I look forward to counting down 2017 with you! Take care to everyone.

Hello and welcome, Jason---I think you'll find this is your kind of place!

Whew!! Who knew car shopping could be so tiring. I ended up getting a 2014 Kia Forte. It was a couple thousand less than the fords and Chevys I was looking at and about half the miles.
