Morning everyone..woke up to a few inches of snow covering everything... instantly had the song "Its beginning to look alot like Christmas" in my head!!
Morning Gunny. Here is another one to occupy your thoughts... "Winter Wonderland"... ;)
The snow from last week's storm is of course still all over the yards, but thankfully off the streets and sidewalks. Hopefully your weather will cooperate and do the same for your driving area. But being old service people, we both know that complaining is not an option as our "superiors" would have just said... "Yeah, so?"
Have a great day...
Hello February.jpg

What? Like the draft? lol. Morning there Edge and welcome to the Irish 1st Day of Spring. Otherwise known as February 1st. Good to hear that you only got little more than a dusting. I like it when we get snow, since that usually means less chance that we will have to deal with a water shortage in the Summer (only happened here once since I have lived here). But, I do prefer it on several days of 3" or less rather than a few days of 8" or more.
But it does beat a drought. Have a great day and week...

The draft and other football talk of course but I'll keep it to the football thread :). I agree with you on the whole I'd rather have several small snow events than a few big ones. Makes it much easier to get around and get to work and home with the smaller snowfalls. Have a great Feb 1!

He is a domestic short hair. He was found on a street as a kitten, he had a split tongue from some sort of accident. The vet said at that time he would never be able to eat enough because of it and probably not live long. Here he is nearly 18 years old, he eats more than the younger cats.
Good for him!

Thanks Edge, I'll give that my best shot. And remember, if all else fails...

Welcome to February Xmas. Same here with the decorations. I found that some of the outside inflatables were still slightly damp, so I had to rig them up in the garage to hang and dry yesterday. Good thing the wife did not have to drive her car... :D
Hopefully the rest will be completed today. Have a fun first day of the month...

Didn't know it was a special Irish day! I've been listening to Irish music lately on the way to work---it's part of my post-season music, and leads up to St. Patrick's Day.

Good Morning, Friends Old and New!

Welcome to the Countdown thread.
The place where numbers matter and declining balances are the daily reality.

Straight to the count:
Days to the Season: 285
Days to Christmas Day: 327

And this morning's daily reality is that as of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, we will be down to SINGLE DIGITS to our next Milestone marker, the ONE QUARTER point to Christmas Season 2017 and all that means.
And what does that mean?
Why, gleeful happiness all around, of course!

Our weather? Well, quite nice indeed for our transition from January to February.
Yesterday saw us up in the 60's with clear skies and gentle winds.
Today should see us remain on this heading.
But tomorrow will bring an ill wind blowing in from the cold north, and warm weather will be a temporary memory.
Right now, we are starting off cloudy but calm at 49 degrees here in central North Carolina.

Ready for a wonderful evening at the 'Pines? Carl and his staff are!
And with a new batch of fired twinkies hot out of the oven, frosted to perfection, I am too! Hope to see everyone there.

And in the meantime, you all have a Wonderful Wednesday, OK?

Lol..I had that happen once when a hurricane was blowing in. Rain blowing horizontal, wind was unreal..and this old Lt.Col said " Gunny, you cant baby these people! " "We having training to do!!" I got up to leave and his aide comes in and tells him a pine tree just fell on his truck!!! (True story)....so the day was cancelled!

How cool was that. I was in Omaha at HQ SAC when a tornado was spotted in the city. We notified the CINCSAC who reminded us if it did not have a base sticker, do not allow it on the installation. Also a true story. Have fun...

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I left to get Elizabeth from school yesterday afternoon. She called saying she didn't feel good, so I took her home, then Nancy took her to the doctor. She has the flu, bless her heart. I'd much rather have it myself than see her feeling so bad. They sent her home with Tamiflu, and we're alternating Motrin & Tylenol to help with the fever. I hope she's over it quickly!

And I hope y'all have a great day! :D
