Not to minimize the storm, which is going to be a doozy ... but The Weather Channel does like to sensationalize somewhat. Having said that, we're expecting 12 to 18 inches with wind gusts close to 50 mph where we are. Come to think of it ... bundle up and hunker down.
Most channels do but there are a few local weathermen that I watch and trust. They even talk in the past about other channels hyping storms for ratings. That said, when THEY say how bad it's going to be tomorrow (1 in particular said it today who always doesn't overhype it) then I think we're in for it.
The local weatherman I trust most (on a local news website) is on vacation ...

Glad you and Mr will be home safe tomorrow, this storm is sounding nasty.When working from home, the only way I can stay on top of jobs---which can come at any time---is to refresh my office e-mail every 10 or 15 minutes, so I can't do much else. In between, I have the TV on and do some crochet. When something comes for me to work on, I print it out, do the work, then send back the corrections and comments via e-mail. Repeat as many times a day as necessary. With most of New England in the same snowy boat tomorrow, I'm hoping the workload will be light ...... but you never can tell what will be required. Happily, Mr. will be able to work from home tomorrow, too. I'd go nuts if he were out in the sort of storm they're predicting.
Morning Holiday. Well for the foreseeable future nothing is on the radar and we should be back up into the high 40's to low 50's by Thursday. The great thing about yesterday was that the sun was out, so even though it did not get above 22, the sun still dried out the streets and sidewalks.Glad to hear your shoveling is done!! For how long???

Morning RachRon. Are you serious? Does FedEx really still operate in the midst of a storm? I would think they would be aware that the bigger the vehicle the harder to control in a storm.
Good Morning Xmas and good planning. I have only been in a snow storm of that magnitude a couple of times. Usually we just get that really bitter cold to go along with whatever we get (plus wind of course). Looks like your Bruins will be spending an extra day or two with out Canadian neighbors. I hear thousands of flights have already been cancelled.
