Christmas Countdown - 2017

Happy Friday Eve ... overcast with showers and chillier but today was not a total loss. Stopped in a thrift store earlier and they had marked down all their Christmas stuff 75% off. I saw a lot of cute stuff but nothing that popped out for me. I did find several small ceramic santas that my mom likes so I picked up 4 for her for Christmas and spent a dollar!!!!

Well I guess I better get started in dinner. Have a great night

Dont forget to stop in South of the Border...July 4th will be here soon.

We drive past it every year on I-95 but only stopped once there for gas maybe 30 years ago.
It is a landmark we always look for, though.

TGIF MMC! Hope everyone is getting ready for the weekend. I need to go get my Mother's Day gifts on Saturday. I usually get it a little earlier than this but I was busy last weekend. This weekend is going to be a rainy chilly one then next week temps go into the 70s and even low 80s with sunshine. Talk about a quick change. Pizza for dinner tonight. Nothing better on a Friday. Hope everyone has a good Friday heading into the weekend!

Mothers dy on Sunday, made mom a special Tshirt......did iron on on my computer which surprisingly cooperated this time. This is what it looks like,

Really closing in now on a truly major Milestone.....and I won't be here to see it!!

Today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 185
Days to Christmas Day: 227

The major Milestone in question?
Well, it doesn't get much more major than the HALF WAY point to the Season, does it? And that incredible point is now only THREE days off. That's less than HALF A WEEK away now, Guys!
Alas, yours truly will be in Florida on vacation that auspicious day. But not to fear. Our own NcGunny will see us safely into the second half of our count!


The weather? Much warmer. Rain? Yep. A short downpour yesterday evening, accompanied by the usual severe weather warning. But fortunately, also as usual, we had no problems.
Currently, we stand at 58 degrees here in the capital city and it's shaping up to be a cool, wet day.

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday!!! So far it's a chilly, dreary day! High of 62º predicted.

Wedding weekend is here! We'll be heading to Indiana this afternoon for the rehearsal dinner. Back to the lake tonight & then back to Indiana for the wedding tomorrow! Whew! Gracie will be hanging with her peeps at the lake while we're gone! Other than that, not much going on!

Been there many times as a kid. We went about 10 years ago, and it's a pale comparison to its former self. Still, it was fun for nostalgia's sake!

The last time we went there..it just had this rundown neglected feel to it. We used to all pile in on a Saturday morning the last weekend of June and head down there to buy fireworks. 4 Marines in a car, 2 in a truck with a bedcover..lol. They were definately the "Days"! Come back on base and we would get stopped every time at the gate.
"You guys been to S.C today?"
Yes..
"Okay, forget I asked" "Any room at your party on the 4th for me?"
Lol..
