Glad you had nice weather to get some qork done. Your zoo will welcome koalas, awwwwwwww! I love koalas. Hope you find time to rest before starting your work night.Howdy MMC. Tuesday morning. Which means the start of another work week. Got up early so I will be able to get some sleep this afternoon. The new A/C is going in as I write and I'm hoping it will not keep me from getting my rest, but things are what they are.
Got some new flyers and posters for the Zoo. We have the opportunity to get a Koala exhibit for this year and of course want to announce it since they will have to return at the end of August.
Got the gutter and most of the yard done Sunday and Monday. I'll try to finish it over the next few days along with the deliveries. Ah, the fun never stops...
Time now for a little Bible study and to get those minor chores accomplished before the Sandman comes a calling. Have a wonderful day all...

So at work today we got a card in the mail from Bed Bath & Beyond addressed to Gracie, (YES, my dog!) with our work address on it. Wanted her to sign up for a credit card & offered her 20% off?!? How in the world??!!!?!!!

Hello all!
This is the last week of school for me this year. Tomorrow starts exams. Lots of grading, sorting, throwing away, and organizing this week.
Today was also the viewing for the student we lost last week. The viewing was actually at the high school. I had the chance to talk with the parents of the young man who passed. I had not met them before, but the mother knew who I was and gave me a big hug as soon as a stepped forward. We had a nice chat and she told me that she did not know how well her son had done in Quiz Team until she was going through his stuff in his room. He did not tell her that he was the league high scorer. It was a nice moment where we talked about how he did not make a big deal out of his accomplishments. It was a nice, but of course a sad talk. Necessary in the healing process.
I am sorry for going on and on the last several days about this situation. I have lost family members and friends in the past. However, this was the first time I have lost a student. This was more than just "any" student, but a young man who I had a connection with because of his interest in history, comic books, movies, and trivia. I watched him grow and mature into the type of person I know would have been successful in life. I know that he counted me as a major influence in his life and I think that hurts every more. It also does not help that I have a son about to go into his senior year of high school.
