Christmas Countdown - 2017

[Holiday]

Making another batch for the neighbor now. 5 lbs or burger in it...gunna take 8 hrs to simmer. So I knew he was gunna watch me make it, before he got here I put my secret ingredient in a coffee cup..lol He kept watching and looking around, I got it all ready,poured in my coffee cup and told him that was it for a few hours. He asked when I add my secret ingredient and told him it was in the coffee cup I just dumped in.LOL.. I finally told him what it was.."Its LIKKER!" Also informed him I was down to 2 quarts left..so he was gunna have to take a trip with me back home to reload.

Sounds awesome...I bet your house smells awesome too!!

Merry Afternoon/Morning to all,

Can't believe that was the last three day weekend for us till end of August! Kids are on their two week half term break from school. Summer holidays are soon approaching. Don't know where this year is going. I'd very much like to slow down from this point.

[Holiday]

The Memorial Day weekend was a good combination of productivity and hanging out. The outdoor Christmas lights came down (last lit January 5th), and the gutters got cleaned out. Cold, rotting vegetation soup is the best way to describe the latter. On a more appetizing note, the rotisserie chicken enchiladas got baked. That's tomorrow evening's supper.
We caught "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2", ate supper out, and had some ice cream, on Sunday.

I listened to Christmas music on Pandora while I ironed this morning. DD wanted to know why I was listening to Christmas music & I told her because it made my happy. She said, "It makes me happy too!" and we sang a few bars before finishing getting ready for the day.

DD will be 12 on Friday. I am trying to enjoy every minute with her because I know it will probably get more difficult as the teen years roll on! She loves to be with me 24/7 right now & I try to take advantage of it!

DD will be 12 on Friday. I am trying to enjoy every minute with her because I know it will probably get more difficult as the teen years roll on! She loves to be with me 24/7 right now & I try to take advantage of it!

That is great! My 8 year old(Henry) loves to listen to Christmas music with me anytime of the year. He is as much of a Christmas fanatic as I am. My older son(Nathan) however, is not. He is 16 but has never enjoyed decorating or anything. He will take part in some of it, but only for a little while. But Henry loves Christmas all year. He sleeps with his elf, Oscar all year round and has a nutcracker on his shelf all year too.

I never watch QVC except for the Christmas in July Sale. My wife always laughs at me for watching it. I never buy anything, I just like to watch. It really puts me in the Christmas spirit!

I just finished mowing the lawn and weed eating. The temperature is great today, not too hot at all. However, the pollen or something is really bad, so now my eyes are all red and itchy!
Of course I was listening to Christmas music while I was mowing.

I'm glad you enjoyed the engagement party! I'm afraid that when that day comes for me, I'll be one blubbering dad.

Thank you Brad. They didn't set a date yet but they are going to start looking at venues now that the engagement party is over. I can't even imagine how overwhelming it will be the day of the wedding. The years go by much too fast.

Good morning ~
I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend. My daughters engagement party was on Sunday, we had a beautiful day. Back to my regular routine today. I have to do some food shopping this morning. My mother is coming by later this afternoon to visit. I'll be working on daily chores in between. I guess that's about it. Hope everyone is well!

Morning MMC! Hope you are all well after the holiday. It was a good one for us. The rain stopped so we could BBQ but we actually turned the HEAT on lol. That's got to be a first on Memorial Day. Forget the a.c. turn the HEAT on! They said it was the coldest Memorial Day we've had in at least 14 years. Well back to work now and only a 4 day work week plus my busiest week of the month. Have a great Tuesday!
