And the closer we get to our next Milesteone, the friendlier we feel, right?

Today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 144
Days to Christmas Day: 186

Now, is FOUR days close enough to engender a right friendly feeling?
Yep. I think so.
Which is good, because that is how far away we are from the HALF WAY marker to Christmas.
(Don't know about you, but I'm feeling extra friendly, now!)


More threatening clouds yesterday but we were rain free other than for an errant sprinkle or two.
Now, of course, the big weather story is the slow approach of Tropical Storm Cindy.
It is hitting the Gulf coast this morning and is then supposed to track to the NE, bringing us lots of rain by Saturday.
Currently, we show 75 degrees here in the capital city under cloudy skies., the ground still soaked from all the recent rain.

Thanks! Actually they are pretty good this morning. A little bit bruised but not really noticeable! Didn't even hurt when I got out of bed this morning, which is what I was afraid of! LOL

I always got 1 week off to sucker tobacco, another week to setup for peanuts. Same went for harvest times. We never grew cotton because the profit ratio was small. We had close to 100 pecan trees and peaches. I only wish we had cows..lol

We have cows everywhere here - Gracie barks at them!

Got invited to the neighbors Summer Solstice party. Thinking it will be a interesting evening.

Happy Thursday MMC! Friday Eve is here and we head into another beautiful day here. Without that humidity it feels so nice in the warm sun. I love this weather. We should see temps near 80 with sunshine today. I'm off on Monday so I have another long weekend to look forward to before my brother comes from San Diego. Anyone have any fun weekend plans yet? And it's hard to imagine that the 4th of July is getting so close. Hope everyone has a good day today!

Merry Friday Eve!! I have a 3 day weekend too. I always take the Monday after the festival off! Have a great day!!

This weather is great!! No big plans this weekend. My daughter has a softball game on Friday night and Sunday we have a graduation party.

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!! Looks like it's going to be a warmer/more humid day today before a cool down again tomorrow! I think we will be needing sweat shirts for the evenings at the festival!! We're supposed to have rain moving in overnight & all day tomorrow! Booo! Hopefully it gets it out of it's system & the fest has great weather. It's only supposed to be in the 70's all weekend.
Our pre-fest party last night was a lot of fun/relaxing. It was a nice night - the tent worked out well.

Last night ended our VBS, and the kids had a great time! Nancy and I did a slip-n-slide coated with baby shampoo, so it was extra slippy-n-slidey. One of the small girls didn't want to slide, though. She thought it was HI-larious to squirt me with a water gun. For 30 minutes, she squirted me, laughed uncontrollably, the re-filled and started again. I was wetter than the kids on the slide LOL!

We're pretty busy around here, so I'll catch up in a minute.

Only thing is that going back after that amount of time is VERY difficult. It's hard enough to go back after a 3 day weekend. In some areas they do more of an even thing where you go year-round and get 3 weeks off at a time then go to school for 8-10 weeks straight.

I wish we would do "year-round" school here like that. I hate school, but I love the routine that goes with the school year. The teachers would revolt because they wouldn't get their nine weeks off for summer! I know the pay isn't great & they have to deal with a lot of garbage, but nine weeks summer vacation, two week "winter holiday" vacation, one week spring break & one week fall break, seems like a good deal to me. Not to mention the nine "snow days" that are built in that they don't have to make up.

I would love to spend some time on Christmassy stuff, but I just can't find time to fit it in.
