Good morning to you Martine. So I have to... really have to ask. What does your Thanksgiving and/or Christmas dinners consist of? Happy Pines Day as well...

It's a fair question. My husband is not vegetarian, so turkey is always on the menu at Christmas, with plenty of sides and desserts. I just replace the turkey with a veggie pie of some sort. And of course David keeps teasing me, saying it's too bad that I'm a vegetarian because I'm missing out on the delicious turkey.

So our downstairs neighbours have a large water stain on the ceiling of their shower stall. Landlord came by this morning and it looks like the drain from our bathtub is leaking. Loki was going crazy the whole time while our landlord was here. He is so protective and acts like he owns this place and barked non stop (sigh). Thank goodness that when the plumber comes tomorrow morning, he'll mostly work from the downstairs appartment.
Awe poor Loki! He wanted to make sure "that man" didn't hurt his mama!!! Give him a hug from me 'n Gracie!
Gracie thinks she needs to bark nonstop every time another dog walks by our house. (which is a lot!)

Greetings on this 28th of June 2017. This will be kind of quick, as I have much to get done in these next few mornings (I sleep in the afternoon). I hope everyone is having a great Pines Day and hopefully one of these times, I will take a Wednesday evening off to catch up on all the activities there. For now, I can only hope as many of you as possible can make it and that you all have a good time. One thing I am getting done today before the Sandman calls is cooking a turkey. Yep, a turkey. I defrosted the large freezer on Monday and it was the one thing too large to go into either of the freezer spaces above the two refrigerators we have, so I defrosted it and now it is in the over. The old fashioned way, in a roaster @325 degrees and basted every half hour until it is done. Which right now should be about 11:30AM CST.
First night back went okay, but I can feel the effects of not getting to bed until around 3PM yesterday, so I'll get a few things done and when "Tom" is ready, so am I... lol.

What time is dinner ;)

Good afternoon .. another beautiful day .. temps in the upper 70s - low 80s, no humidity, slight breeze. Now why couldn't the rest of summers weather be like this? Hubby is playing a double header of softball tonight so that is where I will be. Have a great day!

Congratulations to your daughter and her team! The games are sure spaced out. Have a great day as well SnowflakeMom.
We have to wait for another team to play tomorrow night and then that determines who we play but not sure why they are so spaced out maybe because of the holiday?

Hello and welcome to the most Christmassy place you can find!

As far as my favorite Christmas film, I am obsessed with A Christmas Carol. My favorite versions are the 1984 George C. Scott version and the 1951 Alastair Sim version. I watch them both fairly regularly. I just watched the 1951 version a couple of days ago.

Again, welcome to the forum!

You must try the Seymour Hicks version sometime (1935). The film gets a bad rap because often the cut-down version is shown, and the source material is often poor. But if you find a good-quality video of the full-length version, you'll see how true to Dickens it is. And it has the best Bob Crachit in all filmdom. We know a film collector who has a vintage film print of it, and it's really magnificent! I wish every Christmas fan could see that print.
