Christmas Countdown - 2017

What's up, Christmas lovers? Anyone in the mood for a little Christmas shopping tonight? I sure am...hope I can stay up that late!

Hate a LATE night. I take over the helms of our school district on Monday and my boss of 17 years had her last day, yesterday. Whole range of emotions going....happy, sad, nervous, etc. Looking forward to the journey, though. I am moving out of my office after 8 years and she left me 17 years worth of her junk to clean up. I left work last night at 3 a.m. Four hours later and I'm back at it. I just want to hit the ground running when we come back from the 4th....if that is going to happen, I gotta have this place cleaned up. I love my boss, she was my mentor....but she was a pack-rat. I threw away 13 bags of trash....and that was from 1/2 of the office.....

Here's to hoping I knock the other half out today!

Well pardon my french, but we are getting so close to our next Milestone, that a little loose speech is to be expected!

Let's look at today's numbers, then contemplate the Milestone marker status.
Days to the Season: 136
Days to Christmas Day: 178

Now, as to the next Milestone, be advised it is the 2/3 point to Christmas Season 2017. And be further advised, that marker will arrive TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!
Yes, sir. In just two short weeks, we will enter the LAST third of our Season count.
Will wonders never cease? (I certainly hope not!)


A little warmer and a little more humid here yesterday in comparison with Wednesday, but still quite nice as we near the end of the month. Still warmer weather is predicted for today, and a shower or two is possible later.
We stand just over 74 degrees here at this hour.

TGIF, Christmas friends!

Well, the humidity has returned, and it wants payback for missing a couple days. Whew!

I have a 4-day weekend coming! Our company allows is a "floating holiday" that the plant can decide when to use. We usually use it on Good Friday, but since the 4th is on Tuesday, we decided to take Monday the 3rd as the floating day. I can't imagine all the yard work Nancy has planned for me LOL.

Lunch with mama today. I hope y'all have a great day!

The lawn can wait!! Time to sit by the pool with some tea!! My neighbors all mow on the same day..its a domino effect. I hold off for 2 or 3 days till after they mow then I will mow.

I left the house about 5:30am and finally grabbed a hotel room at 6:30 last night. It was pretty cool though. I could have spent all weekend there checking out all the sites. Today, I head north. In 8 hours I'll hopefully be sitting across from Snowflake chowing down on some cheese curds and what looks like some yummy burgers. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!!!!

Happy last day of June!! Wow...crazy to believe how fast it is flying by. Just work today and looking forward to a 4 day weekend. We have a graduation party tonight and otherwise a quiet weekend. We would like to go to the beach one day if the weather is nice but looks like there might be some cloudy weather. Hope you all have a great day and weekend!

Thanks, Brad!!!! I had only planned on spending a couple of hours there looking around and ended up spending all day. There are still enough sites that I didn't see to plan another weekend trip.

Good Friday midday! I went in early to work to set up our social committee meal to celebrate the end of Ramadan. You should see this table we have: lamb and rice, different samosas, fried fish, pakora, garlic potatoes, chicken and rice, flan, apple cake, date cake, strawberry cake and more. I love it when employees share their recipes with us. And some of them brought vegetarian versions for me, which was really kind of them. Just with the 11am crowd, we've already reached 92$. And I'm stuffed. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Happy Friday and Happy CIJ Eve!!! Hoping to catch some QVC CIJ shows and come CIJ movies this weekend. My daughter and I are going to redo her bedroom tonight and tomorrow. We bought paint last night and I ordered her a new bedding set last month. She wanted a more grown up teen room now that is growing out of the pink/purple phase.

I start my vacation at 4 today but between school physicals and projects at home I will be busy ... I may need a vacation from my vacation LOL. Hope everyone has a great day and stay safe if you are traveling.
