Morning MMC! Happy Saturday and JULY! Wow and CIJ has begun! Hope everyone is enjoying the start to their weekend. We got home from my Uncle's at 2 a.m. It was a late, late night but we had a lot of fun seeing him. My brother is definitely enjoying his stay here. Tonight he wants to go see another one of our cousins but I think I'm skipping that one as I think by 7PM I'm going to be exhausted. Getting old to be missing too much sleep. Have a great 1st of July!

I slept in today, did not mean to but oh well. Not too much going on today. My wife is busy sewing a costume for the ComicCon we are going to next weekend. I will be doing some research for my next paper. But other than that, I guess I will just have to listen to some Christmas music and watch some Christmas movies.

Good Saturday morning and Happy 150th Canada Day to my fellow canadians! It's just me and Loki this weekend, as David is attending a 30th wedding anniversary of one of his friends' parents about 5 hours away. I couldn't attend because I'm working tomorrow. Hope everyone will have a great weekend.

Hello and thanks for sharing this obviously special Canadian celebration. Can I ask what special events or observances go along with this day? Since it is just the two of you, I hope you have time to relax and maybe catch that first Christmas in July movie. Have a wonderful first weekend in July...

Morning Iteach. Welcome to the wide world of July with it's heat, places to cool off and of course Christmas! So what are you going to be dressed as for the ComicCon? I've only actually been to one in San Diego in 1997. It was interesting, but as my tastes were more of the 60's - 80's comics, I soon stop collecting all together. Still have some from the good old days and of course some of the Omnibus series.

Are you going to the Montréal ComicCon by any chance? And what will be your costumes? A day of Christmas movies and music sounds perfect, have a great one Iteachpercussion.

Canada Day is not really a popular holiday in Québec province, darn politics and all. But there is a parade in Montréal and some music shows throughout the province. Actually July 1st in Québec is known as moving day, the single day of the year when the most people move. I've already seen three moving trucks on our street alone today. The big Canada Day event is on Parliament Hill in Ottawa tonight, fireworks and all. Hope you will have a few days off for your own 4th of July celebrations coming up. Have a great day.

I like that era of comics as well, but I also love the really early stuff. However, I will say that modern comics are really well done. Much closer to the older era. I think comics hit a low point in the mid-late 80s. The 90s were not very good at all.

We are going to the Indy PopCon in Indianapolis. It is not quite as big as the Wizard ComicCons which are more well-known. But it is still really well done with a pretty big crowd overall. In August we, along with the kids, will be going to a Wizard ComicCon in Columbus, Ohio.

For this Con we have three different outfits. I will be Green Hornet, Sweeney Todd and the Lone Ranger. My wife will be Kato, Mrs. Lovett, Lucille Ball.

We try to do outfits that go together in some way. Kato is Green Hornet's sidekick. In the newest version of the comic, it is the son of the original Hornet and the daughter of the original Kato. Mrs. Lovett is from Sweeney Todd. and the Lone Ranger I do is more closely related to the old TV show and comic book. So we figured we Lucy fit in with the old TV show theme.

Happy CIJ!!! Been busy this morning with my daughter painting her bedroom. Taking a short break for lunch and watch a little CIJ on QVC. Still got to do the second coat of paint and then start getting her room back together. I think tonight be a good night to relax with a Christmas movie .. now the question is which one.
