They may have a point; I avoided seeking medical advice when I sprained my buttocks and eventually I could hardly walk or sit without moaning and groaning. Four treatments of advanced acupuncture and some pain meds (I didn't want to take) and I was spin cycing in a few weeks.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

We spent all day Saturday uniform & clothes shopping for Elizabeth, since school starts Friday. Then we took Nancy's parents out to eat for their 60th anniversary. Nancy is improving every day after her surgery!

Sunday afternoon, a boy showed up at the house asking permission to date Elizabeth. That's the second one in two weeks. At least they're asking, but she's my baby!! I told him no, not yet. He was disappointed, but he said he understood. She was disappointed, too, and I don't think she was quite as understanding. Oh well. Time to clean up the gun collection, I guess.

Greetings Brad. Yeah, it is going to be tough no matter when you allow it to start. My son use to get frustrated with me, especially when he said the normal teenage response... "Well, when did you start dating?" I think he was blown away when I told him 19. He did not bother to bring up the subject again... lol

It's that 97-98 day marker that keeping my bells jiggling, but love the excitement that each milestone brings to all.

Try explaining to a community planning table why you're not available for a meeting on November 13th. When they plan this far in advance, they figure you can change a random vacation day. I said, "NO. Change the meeting date if you want my input." You see, I want to stay up late on the 12th and greet the season at midnight of the 13th. In order to stay up with the "big people" (as I used to say), I booked the following day off from work so I can sleep and then go Christmas shopping.
Can't wait!

That is such a great plan!!!

It's been cooler the last few nights; last night I pulled covers up over my body - only for a few hours. I wore long work out pants instead of shorts to the gym. My husband was freezing and didn't want me to turn the fans on, but in an hour or so I'll have them back on - he can always put a robe or sweater on, I can only peel off so much skin. HaHa.

So unusual for August! We're supposed to be in the "dog days"!

Hello everyone,

We had a a lot of fun at the Columbus Comic Con. Henry (my 8yr old) went at Dwight Schrute from the Office on Sunday. Catherine Tate, British actress who played Nelly on the Office, was there and we got a picture of them together. He was super excited.

Back to "regular" life today. School starts in about 2 weeks so I will be spending a lot of time getting things ready, as will my wife. We don't have any more plans this summer really, just relax and get ready for the school year. My graduate classes are back to one at a time now. I just finished the overlapping class, so the amount of work is reduced substantially.

Fairly warm here yesterday, but by the evening it felt much better so I waited until the last moment to mow the lawn and got it done just before darkness fell.
Today is predicted to reach 88 degrees for a high, with the humidity getting into the 60's so it might be a tad uncomfortable by this afternoon.
We currently are at 73 degrees here, and it's a bit cloudy.

98 Days!!!! So upset I missed yesterday's milestone(s), but having back-to-back weddings (Saturday and Sunday nights) really made it difficult to do anything.

So nice to see the Countdown to the Christmas Season dipping into double digits!

So hard to believe Bambina is going to Pre-K! I remember when she was born! Crazy how time flies!! I hope she loves Pre-K! And I hope everyone has a good 1st day back to the grind!!

My friends tree we ordered through LTD! The balance of our order is supposed to be delivered today. It's like CHRISTMAS!!!!

And my new dvd came today!!


Can't wait to watch it!!!

Okay, got some grass planted, covered and watered. Six paving stones 16 x 24 are down and leveled, two loads of laundry are done and the meat is marinating for the BBQ. I have decided on Potato Salad instead of roasted spuds, so I've got the eggs cooking for that. So with that in mind, it is time for a short rest.
I trust everyone is doing well this day...
Along with all the other countdowns going on, there are 121 days until I arrive here...

I was looking out the backdoor this morning and I saw a bunch of potential deep fryers pecking in my yard..lol. I took to brining turkeys that are just going into the oven now. Between the brine and doing them in a bag..no more dry turkey for me.
