Good morning. We actually got up and moving this morning. :p We went to Panera for breakfast. The weather has been unusually cool, which is wonderful. I hope the weather does not swing back to hot to make up for the cool weather now. I would love for the temps to continue to fall and have a below normal fall and winter (with lots of snow of course). But, this is Ohio so I am sure the weather will flip and flop. But I can dream!

I hope Gracie is feeling better tonight, sweet girl. I believe in trying different types of medicine to find the one that works best.
Thanks Martine! :)

Evening all. Hope Monday wasn't too bad. Our new outside bench arrived today. Goodness knows when we'll get to use it, the weather has been so bad this summer. Have a good week everyone.
Hope you get to try out your new bench soon! Have a great day Tis!

Good morning to the MMC crowd and welcome to what will undoubtedly be a Terrific Tuesday. The evening ended well and the BBQ feast came out just the way I wanted it to. The only fun/weird part came at the peculiar eating habits of our two dogs. When I sat down to eat, both Bryce (our Sheltie) and Riley (our multipo) came and sat by me. I had two steaks set out for me, a sirloin and a New York. Riley helped me with the sirloin, but when I offered some to Bryce, he turned his nose up at it (several times). He kept staring at me and I replied, "Sorry it's all I have." After "we" had the first steak, I went back and got the New York strip. I offered a bite of it to Riley, but now he did not want any. I did the same to Bryce and he chowed down. I looked at my wife and daughter and said, "I don't believe this. They have gotten so picky in their old ages that they even pick what cut of meat they will eat?"
Of course we all laughed at it, but it really caught me off guard. The good thing was we "all" got out fill of the BBQ last night. I have Bible study in a couple of hours and then I will head over to the "Dark Side"... Sanford Medical Clinic for my appointment.
Have a really nice day everyone...

That is really funny! Dogs!!! They know what they like (or don't like!) Good luck with your appointment. I hope they can help you out. Have a great day!!

Morning MMC! It was a cool and rainy day yesterday. Felt more like October than August. Was weird but a nice little preview of the Bers. Day 2 for me of 3. Had so much to do yesterday and now the next 2 to get my work done. Funny how when you take time off you have to do the same amount of work in less time lol. Have a great day!
Hope you get all your work done & then enjoy a nice long weekend! Have a great day!

Sounds like you had a full, productive day. Love your story about your dogs being picky eaters. I start to worry when Loki turns up his nose at food, especially bananas (he loves bananas). Have a great day CGYager.
I recently discovered Gracie loves pickled red beets.

Good Tuesday morning! Much cooler temperatures since Sunday but today should be warmer and mostly sunny. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift and have new hires to train this afternoon. And then I'll be doing a loss prevention audit of the whole store, at my boss' request, to know where we stand before official auditors show up. But for now I have supper in the oven (potato and leek gratin) and a load of laundry in the wash and Loki sleeping/dreaming next to me. Have a great day everyone!
Have a great day Martine! Hope your supper turns out yummy! :)

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a quiet afternoon yesterday after work. we went to Nancy's parents' for supper...fresh snap beans, okra and a steak. Awesome! It rained most of the night (after I dumped more money...I mean chemicals...in the pool). I'm sure I wasted that now LOL.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Lol!!!! That always happened to me with my pool. 20.00 in treatment and then it would pour that night..lol. A pool is like owning a boat...just much cheaper in the amounts of the checks you write.

I too am wondering about our Ohio fall & winter! Crazy weather!!
Have a great day ITP!

I did keep mine in the smoker the entire time. I brined it, kept it in a pan, & mopped it with the maple/bbq sauce every hour for the last 3 hours. It was so delicious! Might have to do that again for Thanksgiving! Mmmm!!
Thanksgiving time was wbat gave me the idea of only smoking it for a few hours and finishing it off in the oven. I would go through 30 lbs of charcoal getting the turkey done if it wasnt bitter cold. If it was real cold it could go up to 50+ lbs. I guess it just come down to the fact that the turkey didnt need anymore smoke flavor after 3 or 4 hours and I already had a stuffed bird in the oven going. I forgot to tell ya..I always put some apple, pear, veggie in the turkey cavity when I smoke it.

I agree - 3 hours of smoking would be plenty!! It was just easier to keep it in the smoker at the lake. And it turned out great! I did put a beer in the water tray & I sliced up an apple & put it in the beer. I wanted to put some onion in there too, but I didn't have one!! (not sure how that happened - I always have onions!!) LOL

I keep my onion skin and outter shell of onions and add em to a bag in the freezer. When I use the smoker I will add them with the woodchips at different times.

That's a great tip! :)

Greetings Martine. People can say what they like, cooler is always better... :D
Seems like your day will be a long one. I always dreaded training. Not that I minded the people, it just always kept me from getting my normal work done. Have fun with your loss prevention audit and get some rest later on as time (and Loki) permits...

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday! It's another cooler than normal August day, but the sun is shining & I'll take it! ;)
Tonight we are having a surprise bridal shower for Miss Emma. I will be whipping up some appetizer ham sandwiches & a tailgate sandwich ring after work. That's about the only exciting thing going on around here today!!
Everyone, have a wonderful day!!

Hi there Holiday. Nice of you to help out with that surprise party and I hope it goes well. The appetizers sound good, but if all else fails...

Greetings Iteach. I can relate a bit to Ohio, since I have two children (and their families) living there. I had lots of problems in the Summer when something in the realm of an allergy use to hit me in the evening. Like you though, I will take the cooler temps that we are also having here in SD.
Enjoy yours while they last (hopefully a long time)...

Hey gang. Just got back from my 7 1/2 minute clinic appointment. Is there anything that gives you more confidence about a physician than to have him (or her) walk in with your chart in hand, introduce himself and then call you by the wrong name?
And my wife still wonders why I don't like going there? LOL. Anyway, it was can you feel this, push against this, throat looks good so apply heat 3 times a day and do these stretching exercises. I'm surprised he did not end with... "Take two aspirins and call me in the morning." or "Have you had this before? Well, you have it again!"
