Good Evening, MMC!!! It's been a long weekend. I've had my nieces since Friday and let's just say that I may have done cartwheels out to my car after dropping them off. Nothing like a soon to be teenager to make you wish for a straight jacket and padded room. Now I've got to get cracking on preparing for our family reunion in PA on Saturday. I'm going to be leaving early Friday morning to head that way. So not much time to get stuff done. I hope everyone had a great Labor Day and has a wonderful week!!!
lol My eldest just turned ten and I am already getting a taste of it. Now only if I can press pause!
Have fun at the reunion and Safe travels.

Happy Labour Day, friends!

Kim and I returned from the wedding yesterday afternoon. It was an absolutely perfect day. Our good friend/old roommate Cassie and her (now) husband Craig had beautiful weather and a perfect ceremony. The celebrations (from what I can remember) were pretty good, too! It would have been impossible to find a face that didn't have a smile all night. I don't like sharing photos a whole lot on here (especially when they're not Christmas related, but their photographer has already posted this one that looks like it could be from a fairytale.

Cassie is probably my best (girl) friend from the Frisbee community that has given me so much in Ottawa. Seeing her looking absolutely stunning and so happy made me very proud... I never thought I would get emotional at this wedding, and then I must admit that choked up when I saw her walk down the aisle. So happy for her!

Kim and I can now rest. That was our third wedding of the year and we're all done attending weddings... Wait. Did I say rest? Ha... Our wedding is in a mere 20 days, so I guess there's no time for rest. Thankfully, however, Kim has been amazing with everything and we only have a few small details to finish. Before we know it, we'll be walking down the aisle on Saturday, September 23rd!

I hope you've all had a great weekend. I saw my first Halloween commercial this morning. When someone says "It's too early for a Christmas commercial, just remember that Halloween commercials are on TV 56 days before Halloween!" Until then, let's keep enjoying the 'BERS and celebrate that our time is right around the corner!
Glad to hear the wedding went so well. It's a beautiful photo.

I was just wondering when your wedding was. Wow 20 days! Best of luck to you guys. I am sure it will be a perfect day. Such an exciting time.

Merry Morning all!

It is so dark outside and pouring rain but not very cold so that's okay. Thinking about it, even though we had a wet summer , it was quite warm.

Well it's the kids last day of summer vacation and they return to school tomorrow. My youngest is going into Year 1 and beginning his primary school life while my eldest will be in his final year before high school next year!!!! I feel dizzy thinking about how fast they're growing!

I feel a little sad for them , their summer seemed to fly by! Anyway, next up will be their half term break which is placed nicely over Halloween!!!

Have a great day everyone. Good luck going back out to work after your holiday!

Ribeyes, BBQ basted chicken breasts, potato salad, baked potatoes, corn on the cob and freshly baked bread. We did have dessert, but no one got to it... lol

So there is no doubt that for you guys 2017 will be a Wedding Year to remember. The great thing is all you have to do is remember how long you guys are married and all the rest of the anniversary cards can say the same... ;)
Have a fun day and in case I forget... post one of your guys wedding too when the time comes.

Good evening everyone.

Today has been a nice lazy day. I have not left the house and barely left the couch. :p

My next Masters class (online) started today. This one is Great Military Philosophers. The course will be interesting, but the professors has some different expectations than all of my previous professors. Oh well, it is only for eight weeks. Luckily, I am pretty well versed in the content of the class already, and I have read almost all of the books for the course before.

The weather was a little warmer today. Or at least that is what the news said, I did not go outside to find out. Tomorrow is going to be cooler again, high just over 70. Then, the 10 day forecast is all in the lower 70s and mid 60s.

Everyone have a wonderful evening and night!
Greetings Iteach. I think one of the advantages for me, having been long away from school, is to read just for the enjoyment of it...
Of course we all learn as we go around, but this way, if I choose to put my thoughts on paper cool and if not, I still pass the course... lol
Have a great time becoming very edumacated... :D

Greetings Made. You have certainly gone the distance in 2017 to stay busy thus far. I do trust you will find some time for that "kick-back" sensation that we all love to feel when that uncontrollable sigh is released... lol
As for the teenagers... I have to really jog my memory for that. Some things I miss, but honestly... most I do not. Have a great Tuesday...

I think my most vivid memories of those years, while being in the military and living in a ground-floor apartment, was the constant opening and closing of the patio screen door. This was accompanied by various voice saying "Hi Dad" (or Pop) and only one coming from my son... o_O

Good Morning Festive. Thanks for the well wishes, but I get to spend another day at home... lol. We actually had a wetter than usual Summer here in SD as well. Of course it really helped out with all the new grass planting I did, but has kept me from finishing painting the deck, which I still hope to get done. Time passing really is amazing. I'll never forget how I felt when I called my son on his 23rd birthday and the realization hit that he was now as old as I was when he was born. Incredible!!!
Have a fun rest of the week. By the way, do they have Taco Tuesday in the UK?

Morning MMC! We expect a high of 85 degrees under partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this evening. A late summery weather day as we kind of unofficially move into Autumn today. Everyone ready to go back to work? It was a good holiday weekend here. Had a good BBQ on Monday. It was nice to have the days off and now we have a 4 day week to gear up September. Hope you all have a great day today!

Greetings to the MMC community. I did a little bit of work yesterday morning, but with the exception of getting things ready for the evening BBQ, that was the extent of my activities for the day. Today is my third day off, which like many, leaves me with a four-day work week ahead. A little bit cooler today, with a high only in the upper 60's, which should make a nice day to work outside.
I think I'll fire up the grill again tonight, but keep it simple with hot dogs and burgers. Maybe whip up a nice macaroni salad to go along with the leftovers from last night. Along with all the other cool counts on this site, I'll add one for the day...
60 hours until the start of the 2017 NFL Season. Kicking off on Thursday evening as the reigning Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots go head-to-head with last year's AFC West Division Champions the Kansas City Chiefs. Home field advantage... Pats at Gillette Stadium. I'm certain the New England area residents of this site are more than ready (right SnowflakeMom?).

Good Morning, Everyone!

Back after a successful visit to the cottage. Everything was in pretty good shape after our 47th consecutive rental season. There is always some problem needing correction but rarely anything major.
(Now, if Irma will just stay away......)

The first order of business is to formally thank both Edge and NcGunny for keeping the count running with their usual dependable class!

And speaking of the count, just look how far it has advanced:
Days to the Season: 69
Days to Christmas Day: 111

And can we really be down to just ELEVEN days to the 100-day Christmas Day Window, meaning of course, SINGLE DIGITS from the day after tomorrow?
Well, if you believe the count data, the answer is a resounding "YES!".
(But don't take my word for it. Research for yourselves! The count chart is located at post number one of this thread.)

The weather was on the warm and humid side at the beach but rain was not a significant factor, although we did get some.
This week should be warm but not hot, with a bit of rain predicted for late today and tomorrow.
We are at 67 degrees here, currently.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks.
(Tomorrow is the first 'Pines day open house of the 'Bers!)

I can't say that I watch a lot of football but seeing the college football games over the weekend and the upcoming Thursday night NFL game, it really brings it home that Fall is here (or almost). Sounds like you are enjoying a nice 3 days off CGYager :)

My kids went back last Wednesday. Yes it does go by way too quickly!

Good Tuesday morning! Yesterday felt like a Sunday. It's back to work for an afternoon/evening shift today. Right now I'm cooking chili for supper. Last night I dreamed that we had received tons of Christmas merchandise at the store. It's a tad too early for that, we're in full-on Fall decor mode right now. Hope everyone will have a wonderful day!

Yup sometimes I think the tween years are worse then the teen years ... Where in PA will you be?

We are staying in Altoona. The reunion is in Holidaysburg.

We here on the east coast are watching the hurricane ...now renamed JAYISH ..... yabba !

Lol!! Stay safe, Friend!!

lol My eldest just turned ten and I am already getting a taste of it. Now only if I can press pause!
Have fun at the reunion and Safe travels.

I wish I could turn back the clock to when they were both 3 or 4. They were so much easier to deal with then. Lol!

Thanks, Festive!!

Thanks, CGY!! I have the reunion and then the next weekend my sister and her boyfriend are moving into a new house. After that, I think I'm done. I really wanted to move in November but I think I'm just going to wait until my lease is up in march instead of paying to get out of it early.

Haha, Made!! And girls too esp can be quite a handful sometimes. My oldest is almost 15 and my youngest 11. I feel your pain for sure..;)

Yes they can be!! Lol!! Emily is going to be 13 in November and Katie is 8. They feed off each other for sure.
