Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good Morning, Folks.
And Happy Halloween!
We are another step closer to Christmas and its grand and glorious Season!

And not too many steps remain now, as our ever-dwindling count reveals:
Days to the Season: 13 (UNDER TWO WEEKS, now!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 23 (3 WEEKS FROM THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 57 (UNDER eight weeks left!)

(We are just racing along, Guys!)


It was really quite chilly here all day yesterday, requiring a jacket for outside activities.
Today should commence a warming trend, but it has started off chilly, at 43 degrees, here.

How about that wild weather last night and this morning here on the East Coast? We had a window that blew open in one of those 65 mph wind gusts that scared the dickens out of the Mrs. We never lost power (which was good) but it did flicker a couple of times. The wife's school district, had six out of seven schools that were closed today due to flooding, trees down, and or no power. She was bummed, her school was the only one that was open.

Today was my first day at work for my new job here in Connecticut. Went very well, I felt a little bit out of place a few times, but in the end it seemed to all come together and started to feel like business as usual; to some degree.

I cannot believe that tomorrow is Halloween already. Wow, time is totally just blowing by. We went out last night and got a big bag of candy (just in case), a Hershey's mixed bag assortment of chocolates... one for trick-or-treaters, two for me, one for trick-or-treaters, two for me, LOL!!!!

Happy Halloween everyone. It is early here in the mid-west and for now the time for "Ghosts & Goblins" is silent. And every now and then, that is a good thing...
Not much planned for the day, I did take it off to help get the place prepared and to hand out treats this evening. Maybe get started on rearranging my den, it really needs it.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun-filled final day of October and an amusing Halloween evening...

Happy Halloween, MMC!! We are still without power but we do have a generator that can power almost the whole house so that is good at least. They are saying it could be a multi-day restoration so I am hoping by tomorrow we get it back.

Happy Halloween everyone! I am in disbelief that it is actually the last day of October! I want to enjoy the holiday today as much as I can because tomorrow I enter Christmas mode and never look back! I hope everyone has a great and safe Halloween!!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Today, all those little ghosts and goblins will be wandering the streets in search of tasty treasures. I hope your evenings are filled with joy and excitement as you accompany children or even handout candy to the wonderfully dressed trick-or-treaters.

Although I am certainly excited to handout candy to kids, I think I am most looking forward to flipping the calendar over to November tomorrow morning. What a day that will be. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is so close. Soon the calendar will, indeed, be bringing Happy Holidays to us!

Not much happening today, otherwise. There wasn't much work available, as most teachers enjoy being at school on Halloween. Instead, I think I will spend my day at home and get a few things done. I do have some planning for the three Christmas music trivia games I have created for three different parties this year. I think I am officially done one of three. Another is 2/3 done, and I think the other is only 1/3 done. At least it gives me a good excuse to listen to Christmas music a couple weeks early!

And just like that, it's Halloween again! Happy Halloween, everyone! We'll be handing out candy tonight and watching a couple Halloween shows on video. It's pretty much perfect Halloween weather here, although I suspect many of you would like it to be colder! (That's coming in November---which starts tomorrow!)

New member here. Been reading the countdown for a few weeks now but didn't want to start posting or get too involved as I didn't want to get into the Christmas spirit too early However as today is Halloween I'm going to allow myself to start getting excited!

I'm in my second year at university here in England and found I lost a lot of my Christmas spirit last year due to the combination of spending half of December away from home and the stress from university. I'm looking forward to celebrating with you all this year and think it will help a lot while I'm away from home.

TGIF .. Well I had to break down and turn on the downstairs heater last night. It was just to chilly in the house for my mom but I only turned it on to take the chill out of the house last night before bed and first thing this morning. We are in for another warm up this weekend and some nasty rain/wind Sunday before the temps drop below average again .. seems like we are on a never ending roller coaster of temps. Have a great day!

It was chilly ALL weekend - windy, cold, spitting rain! Supposedly we had a few snowflakes early Saturday morning but I didn't see them! This morning it REALLY feels cold out there! Hope you are staying warm & have a great day!

Happy "Ghoul-tide" Brent. Sounds like your day at home will be as busy as your days at work. But of course this kind of work seems more like play at times. Have a fun last day of October.
