Good morning MMC ~
Happy Friday!
It’s going to be sunny and warm today with highs near 73 degrees. I woke up this morning and realized our A/C was running. I want my Fall temperatures back!
Not too much going on here. I straightened up the house and started laundry so far. I’m going to cook breakfast soon, just having a cup of coffee and relaxing for a few minutes.
I had mentioned that I went for a stress test last week. Well they ended up finding out I have an arrhythmia and the cardiologist wants to do further testing. I have to wear a monitor for an entire month. I just received it last night so this is my first day wearing it. I also have to go for a couple of other tests so that they can figure out what is causing the arrhythmia. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. I’m so glad I decided to be proactive and make an appointment with the cardiologist. Just thought I’d to fill you guys in.
Anyway, typical day here of errands and chores. Not sure about dinner yet. I’m going to the butcher later so I’ll probably pick up something to grill since the weather is going to be nice. That’s about it for me.
I hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend ahead!
xx
HMG if I may ask, what prompted you to go see a cardiologist? Hope the monitor isn't too uncomfortable or bothersome. You really did the right thing in being proactive. I learned that the hard way when I ignored what turned out to be the first signs of a blood clot. Now I face my health problems head on. Better to know and be able to do something about it. Hope you had a good day.

Thanks Festive!! I'm feeling much better today! I slept on the couch last night - had the vaporizer going, loaded up with some Vitamin C, Resp 11, Airborne, Vicks & Essential oils!! Slept great! :) I've got my diffuser running here at work again today! Need to nip it in the bud!
It has definitely been an up & down year for Mom! That's the one reason I'm dreading this time of year - I just hope she can stay healthy! xx

Glad you are feeling better Holiday. Your description of how you slept last night reminded me so much of when I would get sick as a child (which was often). Especially the vaporizer and Vicks.

Good morning Martine! Hope you enjoyed the Bake Off!! How excited - only one more day!! Enjoy your staycation!! Will you be doing any Christmas decorating?
No decorating planned, but I will be editing my Christmas playlist and shop for gifts.

I love seeing the Christmas stuff come out. This, not so much-

I experienced my first light flurries last Wednesday. Hope the Farmers Almanac is wrong this year. Snow brush and kitty litter in the trunk.

Thanks! Can't believe from tomorrow night the city will be all decked out in Christmas!

I will probably get it next week from the local chemist on my way back from the school run. My youngest already got his at school. He was fine. A few sniffles but never complained of feeling unwell. Theirs is a spray up the nose. I wonder why us adults have to have the needle!

I never used to get the flu shot because I have a strong immune system and don't get sick. I started getting them four years ago because if I "carry a bug" and transfer it to my husband, it could kill him. I've never had a reaction to the shot or any symptoms. Sometimes my seasonal allergies bother me, but that's not the same as getting the flu. Stay healthy, everyone; Christmas is coming!

Happy Friday!!
Just a regular work day for me and tonight Jay and I catching a quick dinner with some friends tonight. Then not too much planned for the rest of the weekend, which is fine with me.
Don't forget the clocks this weekend!!
Have a great day!

I woke up this morning as if we already set the clocks back.
I have trouble driving in the dark because of the glare of the lights on vehicles. I spent money on glasses with anti-glare that have been surprisingly helpful. Should reduce my migraines (light is a strong trigger) and allow me to enjoy the drive more.

I just read that the Rockefeller Christmas Tree has been chosen! Another one from PA! That always makes me so excited to read about "the tree!"

I always get excited about the tree that Nova Scotia sends to Boston to thank them for their support after the explosion in 1917. This year marks their 100th anniversary. Here's a link to learn more about the tradition. https://novascotia.ca/treeforboston/
I never lived in Nova Scotia, but my grandparents did so I feel connected.

Greetings my merry chums -mistletoe-

When I was at an evening of appreciation last Thursday, I had a merry moment that I knew I had to share with you.
There was a getting to know you activity involving M&Ms and the colour you chose prompted a different memory or story to share with the person beside you. The woman next to me had to share a favourite childhood memory with me. After some thinking, she shared that a fond memory was the size of the Christmas tree her dad would cut for them to decorate every year.
My prompt was to share a long-lasting relationship. I had already decided who it was with before she shared her Christmas tree memory. For me, my long-lasting relationship was with Santa Claus because since just before I turned a year old and celebrated Christmas in a new house, my brothers and I all had homemade stockings made by our mom that continue to be filled by Santa every year.
It was a merry moment for sure.
Christmas bonded us together.-surprise-

Hurray for me; I found the Holiday Tradition station on SiriusXM and had it playing in the car before the dinner meeting last Thursday. I cranked it up really loud when some people were passing by and they asked later at the buffet line-up what I was rocking to and they laughed when I told them it was Christmas music.

Yesterday, during a play therapy session, a child used a plastic sheep with no front legs and a reindeer without antlers (chewed off I think) to tell a story and sing a made up song about why they couldn't guide Santa's sleigh.

See, there are merry Christmas moments in my life nearly everyday that bring about thoughts of all of you and our ongoing celebration of the most wonderful time of the year.

To top it off, the across the creek neighbours have the start of their lights up. So far they just have lights on a wooden rail post, but I know the indoor and outdoor lights will appear soon. I will once again drop a Christmas card into their mailbox. I often wonder if they receive it well or if they worry about the person who is "watching them". I'm not really watching them, just appreciating their decorations. These days you never know how people react because their are so many wackos in the world. I'm guessing they appreciate the gesture.

I have half of my Christmas shopping finished already. I have two people I'm surprising with a surprise package this year. Feeling the magic of the season and looking forward to the countdown and staying up late on Nov.12th so I can celebrate the "in season" moment in real time at midnight - that's why I booked the 13th off from work. That's the day I'm starting my Christmas cards. Going to our Michaels store today to pick up some blank cards so I can make some of my own this year.

Keep a merry thought in your head :lightman

Thank you so much Martine ~
Heart disease runs in my fathers side of the family. It’s always on my mind. I’m going to turn 50 next year, I thought it was the right time to see a cardiologist. So glad I made the appointment.
I’m sorry to hear about any health problems you’ve been struggling with. I will keep you in my thoughts, sending hugs and healing prayers your way.
xx

Good Saturday Morning! Into a November Weekend and feeling great about it. Oh and we get an extra hour today (well technically Sunday). Don't forget to turn those clocks back an hour. I don't sleep an extra hour though. I just try to enjoy the extra hour doing other things...maybe watching a Christmas show. Have a great Saturday!

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Saturday!
It’s going to be partly sunny with a high of 57, we’re currently at 46 degrees. Much cooler than yesterday.
I’m heading out soon to do some food shopping. I’ll be working on some chores around the house afterward. Then I’ll be heading back out this afternoon, I’m looking for a rotating Christmas tree stand. I hope I find what I’m looking for so I can put my Hallmark tree up tomorrow. That’s about it for me.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Good Morning, Fellow Weekenders!

Just think. At this time next Saturday, we will be only TWO days away from the start of Christmas Season 2017. Can you believe it??

Let's take a look in unabashed wonder at today's incredible numbers:
Days to the Season: 9 (SINGLE DIGITS!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 19 (Down into the TEENS, now!)
Days to Christmas Day: 51 (SEVEN WEEKS from the day after tomorrow!)

(This is just getting plain scary, Folks!)

Our weather remains gorgeous and simply outstanding for early November.
(Heck. Outstanding for any time of the year!)
Today will be a bit cooler, but the warmth will return again for tomorrow.
Currently, we perceive 64 degrees here on our back door thermometer and it looks a bit like rain.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone.
And enjoy your Weekend to the fullest!

{ Heads up! The Special Post Series begins in just 4 days!! }

Happy Saturday everyone! I have spent most of my morning doing housework, pretty boring but has to be done!! I think I am going to have a look on line now and start purchasing xmas presents, I know what I am getting my mum and the in laws so think I will order them in and I can tick them off the list!

It's bonfire night tomorrow and we are going to a local pub that has fantastic fireworks! Really looking forward to it!

I hope you all have a great Saturday!

Thanks Crown! Feeling the pressure!

Good Saturday morning everyone! I've been decorating and wrapping presents (only because I need something to stuff under the trees to TRY and keep our two kittens we adopted in August from getting underneath and playing with dangling ornaments. All the adult cats walk right past the trees, but these kittens are fascinated!). We are going to roast a turkey breast this evening and run a few errands. I hope everyone has a great and relaxing weekend!
