Thanks! We're the opposite with two adult cats and three kittens. We only have one trouble maker in the bunch but one is more than enough to handle. What is a scat mat?? I'm going to look into that! She is just beautiful! We have two new kittens this year as well as three adult cats. I have four artificial trees up and so far they have caused minimal destruction to them courtesy of both a scat mat and air cans (Thank God for Amazon as those two items save my trees every year!). I am curious to see how the two new little ones will handle the live tree this week!
Thanks Crown! Have a great Thanksgiving Eve Eve Eve!** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 8 **
Good Morning, Folks.
And thus we begin week two of Christmas Season 2017.
Yep. You read that right. A FULL WEEK of the Season is aready behind us and Thanksgiving looms just ahead, as our count will reveal.
Days to Thanksgiving: 3 (Now UNDER HALF A WEEK to go!)
Days to Christmas Day: 35 (FIVE WEEKS FROM TODAY!)
We're rolling, Guys!
It was a bit on the chilly side here yesterday, but really not too bad for the second half of November.
Today will see us top out in the upper half of the 50's, and the forecast shows a zero percent chance of rain.
We begin Thanksgiving week at a chilly 36 degrees, here.
Have a Marvelous Monday, Everybody.
And a great build-up to Thanksgiving Day!

Hope you feel better, Edge!! My Dad is fighting something very similar....the viruses are starting early this year!Morning MMC! Happy Thanksgiving Week! Here we go into the big week that changes everything. I was pretty much sick all weekend. Felt it coming on late last week and this weekend it hit me full on. Nose, throat, bit of a fever, etc. I think that it's gone through all the different parts of my body now so I am hopeful to be on the mend these next 3 days before Thanksgiving. Day 1 hopefully will go well and I do have a good amount of work to do. I know what everyone will be talking about these next 3 days at work is Thanksgiving. Have a great day!
Morning,Good morning MMC!!! It sure is Monday....BUT it's Monday of a Holiday/short work week! YAY!!
What a weekend! I got home from work Friday & only about 1/2 of the lights on my tree were working! My 1st thought was LUCY!!! But it wasn't her. The 1st strand of lights that some others were connected too went bad (I'm assuming a fuse) I unplugged that strand, added a new strand & wah lah - all was good again!![]()
Friday night/Saturday it rained SO HARD! We had water everywhere!! I went shopping with the lake neighbor ladies on Saturday - I had to travel. It rained the WHOLE way there! As soon as I entered the town we shopped in, it quit! Didn't rain the whole time, which was great b/c it was a lot of in & out - small shops. Then we went to the tavern in that town (great food) - ate & watched the 1st quarter of the Buckeye game. It POURED the whole way home!! There were a couple spots closer to home where the road was covered in water. I wasn't sure if I should go through the 1 spot but I did & thankfully I made it. I was happy to be home!!
Yesterday Mom woke up from her afternoon nap talking gibberish. My sis was with her. She called my bro (my nephew just happened to be there too - he's a deputy so has some medical training) & the nurse to come. The nurse thinks she was having TIA's. We had Thanksgiving with my hubby's family yesterday so by the time I got there, she was much better. Although there were clothes in her washing machine & they got off balance, so the machine was making noise. Mom was pointing at her utility room door saying we needed to change the cookie's! Hmmmm! (when we bake cookies we always put 2 cookie sheets in at a time - one on the top rack, 1 on the bottom & switch them after 4 minutes - I assume that's what she was referring too, but ???) My SIL (RN) stayed with her last night. My bro said she was back to normal this morning. Mama, mama!
I saw on the internet yesterday the breeder we got Lucy from now has Soft Coated Cockers!! One of my best friends is a huge cocker spaniel fan & as you know, I'm a SCWT fan!! I emailed the breeder. I think my friend & I should get sisters. She has 2 girls left!!

Funny you mention that - I was just reading about that. Our groomer told me a long time ago she stays away from chicken dog food b/c the chicken in their food tends to come from China. She sticks with lamb. I'm thinking it might be from her teething. I'm reading up on that! Just like babies! We had a similar issue with our dog, the dog food we were feeding her was high in chicken and we found out that too much chicken protein can upset some dogs stomachs. Since we switched her to a beef based dog food no more problems.
Hello everyone! I honestly hope you are all doing well. :} It's been a while since I spent some quality time reading MMC posts and getting my personal dose of encouragement (I apologize if it sounds selfish but this is exactly how I feel visiting MMC). ^^
I'm nearly done with a first semester at the university which is crazy!Honestly, I don't know where did the time go. The semester though has been a lot of things: confusing, challenging, interesting, very busy (!), but rewarding overall.
The thing that makes me the happiest is people I have met so far and friendships I have began to build that will hopefully last a lifetime. It may sound like a cliché to some people but for me it's a general truth.
The teaching period for my master's course is over and I now have three exams left to sit. I will be all finished on 8th December which for me is super early. After that, I will be off until around mid January. I'm not going to Lithuania for Christmas, but instead I plan on working on planning my master thesis, studying Norwegian (I wasn't able to dedicate some serious effort to language learning so far which I feel very sad about and disappointed in) and perhaps reading some fiction (I'm really missing a non-academic read).
Sorry for a long post. I'm always very wordy. Why am I always so wordy?
My first exam is on Monday, so I hope for some inspiration to get some qualitative studying done over the weekend.
I wish everyone to enjoy the rest of November. Stay warm, merry, and drink a lot of chai lattes.
Best wishes!
LOL - you will have a FEAST!!Good Friday afternoon everyone! I can't believe it is the weekend before Thanksgiving! I'm getting myself into Thanksgiving feast mode! My husband and I purchase a half of a grass fed steer from a local farm once a year (since it is the two of us it usually lasts us about 12-14 months--love having all of that beef and having so many different options in the freezer all year round!) and when we purchased it this year they had pasture-raised turkeys for sale as well. We bought one and threw it in the chest freezer thinking it would be perfect for Thanksgiving. I looked at it last night and it is 25 pounds!! It will take a whole week just to thaw him I bet! We always fry our turkeys in an indoor fryer, so we will definitely have to cut him up first as there is no way he will fit in there whole! So at least I can cross the turkey off my list (and the tons of leftovers we are bound to have!!) and start focusing on what side dishes to make!
I love it!!!!Something is in the air at the office today ... this morning, I heard someone getting really excited about the idea of a Christmas sweater day ... this afternoon, some girls were floating the idea of having a Christmas decoration contest, with each contestant decorating his/her desk and the surrounding area. If this excitement keeps up, it's going to get festive around here as the Day approaches!

Nice! Hope you are having a great time! No, we're coming home to have Thanksgiving with Nancy's mom. Still, it'll be a lot of fun!
Praying for all good test results TODAY!Thank you so much everyone! Unfortunately, I did not get the test results today. Fingers crossed that no news is good news. Looks like I’ll have to wait until Monday when my doctors office re-opens. I will keep all of you posted.
