Some of them are, some are Noma and some are from Kohl’s (which brand name slips my mind right now.) There’s even a Dept 56 piece or 2 in there.
St. Nicholas Square! ;)

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
We have a pretty dreary day here with pouring rain but it is supposed to clear up early afternoon.
I did all my shopping last night at the grocery store so we should be good to go.
Just work for me today but should be done early.
I hope you all have a great day!
Yay for having the shopping done!! I think I should be good to go too! xx
Have a great day SFM!

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, I would really love to re-start my tradition, of watching Miracle on 34th street (1947).

I used to do this every year, in the morning, with the Thanksgiving day parade also, for many years, and well, the last couple years, I just was not up to doing that tradition any longer. But, time has a way of moving on, and so did I and I really feel now, like (on the inside) starting the tradition all over again.

I feel, well, like it's Christmas once again; I've missed it.

Last night, we introduced the two kitties to each other for the first time. I was surprised, there was no hissing, no growling, no hunching of the backs or anything. They sniffed a lot, sniffed each other, touched noses a few times, and started to follow each other around the place for a bit. We did this for about 30 minutes and then we separated them again.

For the last four days, we had one in a room all to herself and the other one, the first one I adopted, having the run of the rest of the place, like usual. They knew each other was there because there is an 1 - 1/1/4 gap under the door, so they could smell each other, hear each other and they were putting their paws under the door, trying to touch each other.

We really want this to go well, so we are trying to do the introducing thing slowly, and for a little bit at a time at first; being together. Shiloh is almost a year and Ariel is 3 months old.

We named Shiloh after a city referred to in the bible; as a city of peace and refuge.
And we named Ariel after one of the 7 Archangels (The patron saint of animals and the environment) her name means, "lioness of God.

I will try to post pictures of them later.
How cute! Looking forward to pictures. I hope they get along well!!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving in Connecticut!

I love to watch Miracle On 34th Street on Thanksgiving! I really wish they would show it on tv on Thanksgiving Day like they use too. It was always on at 2pm - not anymore! :( I have it on dvd, but it's not the same as watching it with the rest of the world!
Now that we have both lunch & supper on Thanksgiving Day it's harder to squeeze in watching it. I try at night, but sometimes can't keep my peepers open after all that turkey! ;)

It goes GREAT after the Macy's parade, since it has the parade footage and then segues into the Christmas season. It's a great bridge from Thanksgiving to Christmas!

(Have you ever read the book? It has some interesting differences from the movie.)

I still miss a local place where I grew up. It was called Kwik-Kook, and it had a "fried chicken sandwich." They buttered and toasted two halves of a hamburger bun, and on each half placed a piece of bone-in fried chicken ... it came with steak fries on the side and a packet with a napkin and a wet-wipe. If you got it as a takeout, they put a second Chinet paper plate on top and stapled the edges together for easy transit. Gosh, I miss that dinner!
I use to go to a road side place that did that with porkchops!

I know, right!!! It is a perfect bridge between the two Holidays. And besides, I just love the B&W's! Although watching it in color is good too.

No, I have never read the book. I should do that. Better yet, I should go out and buy a copy and keep it on the shelf for easy reading.

It's a shame, they took that off TV, from a tradition of airing it on Thanksgiving Day.

Remember, when on Thanksgiving evening they would also air The Wonderful Wizard of OZ at 8pm? Oh man, I would love watching it as a kid, except for when the witch appeared, I was scared to death of her; (I would close my eyes every time she appeared).... And those eerie looking flying monkeys too!!!

Actually, I think I may of had a crush on Dorothy at the time~

If I'm not back here before the weekend is over, I hope everyone in the States has a good Thanksgiving weekend. We have breakfast with DH's family tomorrow morning. I plan to cook a roast for tomorrow night for just the three of us to have while putting up and decorating our main tree. Friday is Fantasy of Trees with Mom & DD. Saturday is Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas, where DH is playing keyboard for one of the singers. Sunday is church x 2 with Thanksgiving lunch with my family in between. It sounds busy, but the activities are spread out, so I shouldn't be exhausted by Monday morning!

I was thinking the same thing!
And @MerryCarey - I hope you are done with your work day!! xx

Well got out around 12:20 and came home. Picked up a buffalo chicken roll for dinner like usual on this day. And was doing a lot of thinking on the way home about how amazing everything that's about to start is. People at work were saying weren't we just here last year on Thanksgiving Eve? And here we are again...and the Christmas Season is about to go bonkers in less than 24 hours.

I agree! Why in the world would they take Miracle On 34th Street off tv on Thanksgiving Day?? It's the PERFECT T-day movie!! Wizard Of Oz was always a good addition too. That as actually on Saturday night - I watched part of it. Too funny about your crush on Dorothy! :p ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Good afternoon my friends, Pines day already wow where’s the time go?
Have to take the cakes to the competition on Friday and I’m not ready and I don’t think I will be because my arm is acting up again. Well it is what it is I will take and what I have.
At least I get the $200 plus Goodie bag for entering. If nothing more that made it worth it.
Working on sewing some aprons for our community meal volunteers.
Looking forward to soaking in the hot tub tonight at the Pines. Anyone know what Carl’s got planned?
Went back to work enjoy your day everyone!
