Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good afternoon .. well the countdown is on until I start my Christmas vacation ... after today I will only have 6 more working days to go and then I will be off for 2 weeks!!! We got about 4 inches of snow Saturday which was a perfect day to get some baking and a lot of wrapping done. I just need to get caught up on watching my favorite Christmas movies ... I think that may start tonight :)

Good morning MMC! Merry Monday! I can't believe it's only 2 weeks until Christmas Day! Things need to slow down!!!
We had a nice, relaxing weekend. I stayed with Mom Friday night until my sis came around 9pm. Then chilled at home. Saturday, Sunday besides a run to the store, I was home all day, both days! Got to watch it snow all day Saturday. Lucy (and I) LOVED it!! She's learning how to make a snow beard!! :D

Over the weekend I made Hug Pretzels, a double batch of sponge candy & Oreo Truffles. I think I'm done with candy now. This Saturday is cookie day & then it will be time to put together & pass out the candy trays! :)

My goodness, that is such an adorable picture of Lucy! She's getting more white now. So sweet!

They've been up and lighted since Thanksgiving, but no decorations until today. That's the latest I've ever been, but other deadlines came first this year. Next week I should be wrapping Mr.'s gifts and making cookies. I think I'll take the rest of the day off and watch some movies ... 'cause it's back to work tomorrow, and another deadline to work on over the weekend!

The remainder of the Christmas cards went out, today, but the tree has paid the price for same. I got a paltry three dozen ornaments on it before supper, last evening. The poor thing is well lit, but running extremely light on adornment. This weekend should rectify its embarrassment.
 
Well we had a nice surprise at the mailbox this afternoon! There was a gift card in there saying a friend of our lake friends sent us a gift magazine subscription to Louisiana Cookin'! What a guy!! He is such a nice person - loves to cook, & he knows I love to cook too. He normally comes out to visit our lake friends once a year (summer) & again over NYE. He lives in Georgia now. We always enjoy his company! I'm excited!! Love those random acts of Christmas kindness! ♥ ♥ Now to forward it on!! :)

I hope you are having a wonderful day off!! ENJOY!! It was hard to come back after lunch today!! I shouldn't turn on all the Christmas lights - makes it harder to come back! Lol! ;)

Sounds awesome - 2 weeks off & Christmas movies! Wonderful! I need to watch Christmas movies tonight & get crocheting...if Lucy will let me! :P

She is! She gets groomed Wednesday so I'm sure even more white will come out!

HA! Poor thing! :D :p Tree's are pretty with just lights! No need for it to be embarrassed!! :D

The people who are going to take care of snow removal for us here at work this year were just here - he said 3" of snow tomorrow! Bring it on!!! :D

Morning MMC! The days are dwindling! Well my plans last evening went well. Christmas shows and wrapping. That's the plan tonight too. I have a little tradition the last couple of years now with looking at my phone app weather which gives a 2 week outlook as soon as we are 2 weeks from Christmas Eve/Day to keep an eye everyday on the forecast. Right now we have 42 high and 24 low on Christmas Eve with the chance of Rain and Snow. Christmas Day looks colder with a high of 34 and a low of 18 but sunshine. Not terrible...certainly nothing like Christmas 2015 which was like 68 and rainy Christmas Eve and 65 and sunny Christmas Day lol. Have a great day!

Good morning MMC and Happy Tuesday!
It’s going to be a bit warmer today with highs near 50 degrees and a chance of showers. I have a doctor appointment later this morning, just a follow up visit. I need to do some food shopping at some point. I’ll be working on the laundry as well. Maybe some Christmas shopping too!

A whole month nearly down.
Wow!

And now the big day is closing in fast, as the count data informs us:
Days to Christmas Day: 13 (UNDER the TWO WEEKS mark, now!)


Cold weather has settled in and tonight could be the coldest of the season so far, as we are predicted to drop down into the low 20's.
After that, a slow rebound will begin.
We have currently commenced this second day of the work week at 41 degrees here in our portion of MMC land.
