Happy One Week from Christmas!

This is my last workday before Christmas, and it's sure to feel very long ... I have a busy week ahead at home, but most of it will be putting the final touches on Christmas. Where has December gone??

Good morning! I am off today and finishing up my shopping. I really just have to get my niece and nephew an outfit. And a couple of stocking stuffers!

Good morning, my Christmas friends! Hope y'all are well! One week....one week. I can't wait. We did a little shopping yesterday...just to enjoy the environment. I have to go back today to buy groceries that we will need for Christmas. It is bound to be packed today. That's ok! I enjoy this trip, a lot.

I plan on doing a little more Christmas shopping on Monday and Tuesday...that should be all we need. I'm getting pretty excited. Next week, all of the family comes in....gonna be a good time, indeed.

It is exciting!!! Enjoy the next couple weeks!!

Morning MMC! I woke up with a virus (a bad one). My family had it and at work people had it. It's been going around. So just like I got sick 1 week before Thanksgiving I'm now sick 1 week before Christmas Eve. I'm going to rest up today obviously and hope that I can feel better. Have a good day!

Morning MMC! I don't think I spent more than 3 hours total out of bed from Saturday evening till Monday morning. Even when I'm sick I don't stay in bed for that long. But this virus hit me hard and fast. It hit my brother at the same time. We both were in bed most of the day. But it looks like one of those fast/furious viruses that comes and goes within a day or 2 because I feel so much better today. I'm still trying to take it easy though and don't want to overdo it. I'm just thankful it was this Sunday and not next! I'm hearing some rain may happen for us around Christmas. Blah...why did it snow most of the month and now Christmas comes and it rains? Have a great day!

Oh UGH! I'm glad you are feeling better. Did you go to work today? And isn't today the day your brother comes into town?

Does anyone have good Christmas potluck ideas?

What are you thinking about having? Almost all of our family gatherings are pot luck since our family is so big. For Christmas my sis & I are making the smokehouse spaghetti, I'll bring bruschetta & a cheese log for a snack. We also have 2 gallon of corn frozen from the garden we'll bring. Another sis is bringing garlic toast & a dessert, we have a couple bringing salads - lots of snacks.
At my in-laws, my MIL is making a ham & mashed potatoes/gravy, I'm bringing a smoked turkey & a snack. My SIL is bringing a 7 layer salad & another SIL is bringing a tray of cookies.

Good Sunday afternoon! We had a great evening at my brother's new condo yesterday. The space itself is gorgeous to begin with, but it was also so well decorated for Christmas. And the food was so yummy, I ate too much. Speaking of food, we just went grocery shopping and bought part of what we need for our employee lunch on Friday. There's no more space in the fridge! Now I'm trying to plan when everything will get done this week. Time to relax and catch up on the dvr for a bit. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Sounds like a nice time at your brothers. I need to go grocery shopping today or tomorrow too. I like to buy my tomatoes ahead of time so they have time to ripen on the counter! Need to get my turkey out of the freezer too! It's all so exciting.

Happy Monday!
Wow, one week to go. We’re in the home stretch. So exciting!
We have showers passing through this morning but it’s supposed to clear up and we’ll have highs near 45 degrees. I’m going to take a ride to the health food store and then the post office for Christmas stamps. Back home afterward to work on my daily chores and wrap some presents. Dinner will be minestrone & tortellni soup. Thats about it for me.
I hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful Christmassy week ahead!!!

Good Monday morning! One week until the big day, it's crazy how fast the end of the year has gone. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift so I'll try and wrap some gifts this morning. And I have a few little things left to buy for my husband's stocking. Hope everyone will enjoy a nice day.

Thanks Crown!! Hard to believe I already have the 2018 calendar ready to be filled in with Milestones. Even harder to believe is our paper chain we put up last Dec 25th is now only about 7" long. The chain literally ran around the whole ceiling in the tv room.

Are you making another chain for next year?

Morning all!! I got in a few more movies last night: 12 Dates of Christmas, Christmas in the Smokies, Lionel Trains 1st Christmas train show. We are down to 1 week left and I have 2 types of cookies left to bake. Choco chip and Dream Bars!!

We made orange drops on Saturday!

It amounts to a few people spewing their ideas because they have nothing else to do in their lousy lives than to cause trouble where there is none. It did occur to me that whoever demanded no religious symbols were themselves promoting a belief upon others. There was only around 25 of us that participated in this yearly, there is now 20 of us that have started our own.

Sounds like they need something to complain about. I'm glad you have a crew to branch out on your own.

The wedding is finally behind us! It was held at a nice venue; outdoors near a pond, it was all very rustic. Jacob finally agreed to play guitar, and he & Elizabeth did a wonderful job.

Nancy just gave me my marching orders for the next seven days. It sounds like something I wouldn't like, but, in truth, I'm glad I'm not the one responsible for the schedule this week LOL.
