Hope you are feeling 100% VERY soon!! Jim said he lost 7 lbs! EEK - not the way I want to do it!!
Did your brother make it in safe & sound?
Have a great day!
I think another day or 2 I'll be back to 100%. And I don't really need to lose any weight lol but I might have lost a couple lbs from it. Yes he made it in and Rollins jumped him as soon as he got in.

Good Tuesday-before-Christmas morning! It's snowing again here. I like a white Christmas but this makes it hard going into work. I've yet to finish shopping for stocking stuffers, this is cutting it way too close for comfort. I'll be spending all evening tomorrow cooking store-bought tourtières (traditional Québec meat pies) and chicken pot pies (for those at work who don't eat pork). Then on Thursday I'll spend all evening cooking two turkey roasts that I ordered at the butcher's, and making egg-salad sandwiches, and making roast potatoes, all for our employee Christmas lunch at work on Friday. And Friday after work, I'll be baking non-stop till I don't know what time, for the gift baskets that I give to my family members each year. At least there's not much work involved in cooking tourtières/roasts, just got to keep an eye on them in the oven. Hope everyone enjoys a great day!
Wow, that all sounds delicious!

Well, I won a little argument with a medical billing office, so I'm feeling good about that! Now my day is free to wrap gifts or whatever!
No small feat. Congrats on that accomplishment!

I'm sure those 7 lbs will be back as soon as he is able to eat normal again. LOL
You continue to feel better! Enjoy the time with your family.
Ha ha ha! Rollins wanted to make sure he knew that he missed him!!
:p

Our snow is gone too. What a BUMMER!!!
Given we have a snow storm on tap for Thursday, I'm thrilled our present supply is melting away. That means if everything tracks such that we get enough to White Christmas the place up, but not much more, I won't have to clear the roof and gutters. Now there's a present!

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!! :):)
Hope you had fun bowling!

Well; I wasn't as bad as I thought. Turned out to be 5 pin bowling. I only wound up with 98, but it was the second highest score for my team of 6 so I wasn't the worst player. It was fun, but we didn't get to chat much with other people because we were all focused on the friendly competition. The team playing against us were better at the game; I haven't held a bowling ball since I was 15 so it could have been worse.

I just got the call. More shopping tonight. Ugh.

It's a good thing I love her so much! LOL

-smooch-

One of the reasons I have the "DEAR" at the end of my name is from the polite way we make our requests. No matter how much work or time they involve if we say "dear" at the end it seems to yield a more timely response. Kind of like the "honey do" list. Remember you love her and march on!!!
The wedding venue sounds great.

My grandma on my dad's side was of French heritage and we ate her recipe for Tourtier many times before our Christmas Eve visitors arrived. We always put out some great munchies and sweets later on in the evening, but the pie was a tradition just to get something into us so we didn't fill up on nuts, finger sandwiches, assortments of various fancy cheeses, crackers, dips and the never ending bowl of nuts that we had to crack open. I try to stay away from pastry shells so I make a similar tourtier flavoured meatloaf now and then.

Just in case yall want the video to watch...

Maybe you'd enjoy this old gem.
I often watch old sitcom and family drama Christmas special for old time sake.

** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 37 **

Good Morning, Kids!
Got your stockings hung by the chimney? With or without care?
Have you been good little MMC citizens?
Santa knows. He always knows.

And how long do we have to wait to find out whether we are on his naughty or nice list?
Well:
Days to Christmas Day: 6(LESS THAN ONE WEEK LEFT TO WAIT!!)
(It's not too late to try to get in a little niceness, you know.)

Speaking of nice, that's what it was here yesterday, with plenty of sun, temps in the low 60's, gentle breezes and no precipitation.
Today should be even nicer and we are predicted to reach the mid 60's by this afternoon.
Currently, we observe 42.6 degrees on our digital temperature recorder.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Friends.
Get set for a great final ride up to Christmas Day!
Hard to believe there is less than a week left to the big day. I was thinking earlier today that i was feeling pretty good when we had reached the "1s" count(199 days to go). Now here we are with less than 7, amazing!

Well, I'm out of town for work. I don't know when I'll get to upload them, but I managed to take some lovely Christmas pics across the street from my hotel. Totally decked out with a sparkly merry wonderland. I noticed it last time I was here and the photos on my phone didn't turn out so well so I packed my digital camera this time. There's also about 6 Christmas songs playing in a loop so it was a nice relaxing sight for these merry eyes.

Haven't quite finished my shopping yet. Couldn't find the book my dad wanted or the special CD for my mom, but I will track those down and give them to my parents for no special reason. Got one gift for my dad and we chatted about what was sensible for my mom. Haven't anything for my husband yet, but the rest of my shopping is done.
I haven't wrapped anything yet, I need to find a few gift bags or decorative boxes.

O'Malley the cat is set for the groomers early Saturday morning. That Christine is a cat whisperer, she can calm Mr. O'cat like nobody else can and as long as I leave them to work things out on their own, he's pretty patient with her. She takes him before the big dogs are scheduled to arrive.

A friend of mine and I got chatting about the joy of giving and helping others at Christmas. She has delivered for the Santa Fund many times and described how insensitive it was for families to receive a 20lb turkey when they had no oven to cook it in. Some people really have a hard time and not necessarily because they chose that way of life. I still donate to the local food bank through collections at work and a toy drive here or there, but this year I had a different idea strike me.

In my College days, I had to make choices and live within my budget, but I always had money to spend at Christmas. I chose not to work when I was in College because I would be too exhausted to study and work various hours. I got to thinking how I could help differently.

I decided to raise some spirits of families and youth living at the Crisis Centre not far from my home. I recalled the years after high school for me were tough financially, but I always made sure I ate at least two meals a day.

So, I dropped off a bunch of hygiene products to the local Crisis Centre because I wanted people to feel good. No matter what life throws at you, if you feel fresh and clean, you can hold your head up a little easier. I already know they're going to be fed at the shelter and people often donate winter clothing, but to feel clean and own your own shampoo, deodorant, razors, having cream, shower gel, soap, toothpaste and combs might help cleanse their worries and make them feel good about themselves.

When I was visiting my mom in the hospital, they were so swamped, the nurses never washed her hair; we wound up buying some dry no rinse shampoo for her and she felt like "a million bucks".

Stay jolly - stay clean and YULE be a-okay! -surprise-
