Good morning all. Been a very long time since I was on here. Vacation was great and then with only a week before the big day, it has been almost non-stop around this homestead. We did get a few inches of snow (finally) on Thursday, so at least all the cords in the front yard are covered over. With the temperatures steady in the upper teens to the low twenties for the next few days, I am certain we will have a white Christmas.
I trust and pray that you are all doing well and ready for the big day to arrive which of course includes Christmas Eve. Take care everyone and I will check in with you all later today. Now it is time for some last minute dinner shopping for a larger-than-expected gathering on Christmas Eve.

Good 2-days-before-Christmas morning! Starting the day early to go grocery shopping before it gets crazy busy and before we get ice pellets taking over the snowfall. Then I have the savory food to prepare for our get-together with my family tonight. Enjoy your day everyone!

Today should see us approach the 70 degree mark before we fall off for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We begin this first day of the last weekend before Christmas at 52 calm, sunny degrees, here in our part of MMC.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve MMC! Hope you're all well this Saturday morning. It's raining here but they still say we have a shot for some snow showers on Christmas morning. I really hope we get some of that just to whiten the ground even. That would be perfect. It was a busy and long day Friday but well worth it. Got a lot done and today the same and putting the finishing touches on being all ready for Christmas Eve/Day. Feels unreal but also awesome. Having these 2 days off 22nd/23rd really helps. Great thing is next year those 2 days will be the weekend before Christmas so get to have it again. Hope you all enjoy your last day before the Dynamic Duo!

2 Days left!! Where did it go?? We trudged through the PCB's (ledge time) last January, managed to make it through Spring into Summer. Enjoyed some CIJ time together, then felt another bout of PCB's. Everybody anxiously waited for the 'Bers and the Blossoms to appear and now it has sped by us almost for another year.

Last minute grocery store run today...what a mistake. Snow and sleet, people acting like the dark ages are hitting. I got to watch people root through the hams, nothing seems to surprise me anymore with peoples actions. Decided I better stock up on Eggnog because it will disappear once again !!
I adopted several new Nutcrackers on sale already and a gorgeous Santa Claus.

Same here. I had a few gifts to deliver and some to buy and what I thought would take 2 hours wound up taking 6. Hope my husband remembers to get me more Eggnog. I usually only have 4 cartons all season.
The stores are really busy and parking lots packed as well - sure glad I didn't wait until Christmas Eve to finish my shopping.
Now to wrap with Christmas music and hopefully no help from the cat. He tears off the paper as soon as I tape it down.

O'Malley was good for his groomer girlfriend. She was so delighted with her Christmas card with a handsome photo of O'Malley cat and a tip that she gave my husband and I hugs. Her business has really picked up and she's working most days 8:30-10:00 to accommodate her furry clients. Sunday is her only day of rest. Except she's taking Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day off to be with her daughter, pets and chickens.
I'm starting to wrap the give away presents. It took me 2 hours just to find the right gift for my mom and dad (given her health situation).
I bought her a sit you up cushion with arm rests for the bed so she can watch her fave. movies and feel part of the conversation when my brother arrives tomorrow. I also got her two cozy nightshirts because she's bed ridden so that seemed like the best way to go.
I'm not wrapping the big cushion, just putting gold garland and a big red bow on it.
I found a zippered sweater for my dad and a golf bag BBQ tool set.
My husband said not to shop for him until after Christmas and he'll go find his own jeans and top. That's okay 'cause he's been having trouble getting around so I bought my own gifts (from him) to wrap so he can see what he gave me.
I think I'll wait and wrap the gifts for the grandchildren until Boxing Day because we aren't going to see them until the 29th.

I feel a bit rushed this year, but I know I'm still on the usual merry track.

Stay jolly - Christmas is so close, I can almost hear those sleigh bells!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!!! Well I've started some of my baking, I normally do it all Christmas Eve but have had a couple of requests from family and don't want to over do things tomorrow. The girls are so excited for santa coming, there have been sorting out their rooms to make space for new things bless them!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!!!



We picked up our turkey from the turkey this morning. My dad, stepmom, and her mother are coming over for Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow.
When we first started out this morning it was raining.HOWEVER... before we got home it changed to SNOW!!!! It is snowing pretty good right now. The ground is still a little warm so it is struggling to stick, but it is trying. It looks for beautiful! Really fits the mood of the day! More snow tomorrow!


The rest of the day will be nice and relaxing. Christmas movies and shows (Grinch cartoon currently) Dean Martin Christmas special up next. Also checking in on Kringle Radio.
I do need to make pumpkin pies today, but that is easy and fun.
I love sitting on the couch, next to a Christmas tree, watching it snow, drinking coffee and watching Christmas shows!

Oh how I LOVE Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
Messy weather here ... freezing rain all over the area. It's supposed to get above freezing later and change to rain, but it'll freeze again overnight. Yuck. We've got food in the house, so we're just staying put and keeping warm and cozy today.

They're still talking about 3 to 6 inches of snow on Christmas Day, so I don't know if the family Christmas will be on or not. If not, I'm sure there will be a gathering later.
