Jealous!! I missing having an outdoor clothes line. When we moved here this house didn't have one but we are thinking about putting one in this spring.

We are starting our house hunting process; Yea!!! Today's a good day to sit with the laptop and scan thru Zillow and Realtor.com, while we are both home to see what's on the market.
It is really enjoyable and interesting. I'm sure most of you know that they can take some really great pictures from on the inside and the outside of each and every place that is for sale, but seeing it for yourself, is the key. And that is what we are going to do.
We have been making a list of places we would like to see, we have a realtor, and so this weekend, we are going out for the first time to look at some houses. It's exciting. I love doing this, for me, I've done this before several times, I'm excited also, but for Jill, this is her first time. I sit here and watch and listen to her, as she is looking for homes on-line, and she gets so involved, she asks me a lot of questions, my gosh, she's so darn cute. I like watching her and seeing the excitement on her face.
We haven't nailed down any specific locations within the state, but we are looking for homes that are more in a rural setting then in suburbia one.
This is fun!
Happy Milestone/Pines Day to you!! I hope your Moms appointment goes well!Happy Milestone and Pines Day, MMC!!! I’m just sitting st the Dr’s office waiting on mom’s appointment to get done. Nice!!!So...I’m eating at the Employee Appreciation Luncheon and there’s a piano player. All of a sudden I hear “We’re Walking In The Air” from the Snowman! Yesssssss!!
I do love mine! It came with our house but was included in the patio - I didn't have to walk in the grass to hang clothes. When we re-did our patio I made sure they moved the clothesline so it could also be incorporated into the new patio so I don't have to walk in wet grass in the mornings. LOL! (I got spoiled with it!)Jealous!! I missing having an outdoor clothes line. When we moved here this house didn't have one but we are thinking about putting one in this spring.
I have a Gooseberry Patch Christmas book. That's something fun to look forward to looking at!Good afternoon .. another sunny day and a bit warmer, expected to hit 60 today before the temps dip again but dip enough to make this incoming storm a snow storm ...nope apparently Mother Nature thinks we need more rain and wind. YUCK! I found a few older Christmas cookbooks and craft books including a hardback copy of Gooseberry Patch Christmas that someone was selling for a buck each. They are now resting on my dinning room table until I get time to browse through themWell lunch break is almost up, have a great day!
Sorry to hear you are having roommate problems. Hope it can be worked out!Hi everyone
exciting day today, It snowed! I can't remember the last time it snowed in my part of England must be years, I can only remember it settling once back in 2010 but it wasn't very deep or heavy. The buses stopped running while I was on campus today but luckily one of my classmates drove me home so I wasn't stranded. It's settled beautifully and has been snowing so heavy all day. having some problems with my friends who I live with at the moment so feeling kind of isolated. Just have to remember I'm here to study and focus on my work. Booked a train ticket to go home next weekend anyway which will be nice as it's Mothers day on the 11th and I can treat my mum. Hope you have all had a good day.

Crisco is vegetable shortening, not lard!Today, I rediscovered some of my grandmothers cookbooks, that my grandfather gave to me a couple years ago and I just packed them away in a box at the time without really looking at them.
Today, I open up one of my storage boxes and there some of them were. There are original cut out recipes from magizines from the 50’s thru the 80’s. Her original cookbook, some of my great-grandmothers recipes that were passed down to my grandmother. There they are, in my grandmothers handwriting, stained recipes, old articles and flyers from like Ball blue book of home canning - 1949, woman’s day cook book - 1958, articles from a woman’s day magizine -1956, a small little advertisement saying, “send for your free complete catalogue of Columbia Pictures 8mm Home movies”.
There are recipes from Crisco, mmmm, nothing like cooking with lard. Lol....
Anyhow, I think it’s kinda neat.
Well, what to say, it has been a crazy morning here, the wife had me up most of the am hours, she was not feeling well again, tossing and turning in bed, up and down and then all of a sudden around 6am she's throwing up in the bathroom. I know she felt awful, poor thing, she called out of work again. I myself was so tired, I called out of work also, so I could rest (I would of have been useless sitting in front of a computer screen all day; give it an hour or two, and I would of been asleep at my desk) and to also be here with her in case she needed me.
I don't know what it is this year, she's a middle school teacher, and of course, she is subject to every germ, in that icky breeding ground within the school. And she catches it no matter how much sanitizer she uses and how many times she washes her hands. She was doing so much of that, that her hands were starting to get red, crack and irritated. She missed 3 days last week being sick.
I'm not feeling myself now, my throat is getting sore, have pains in my belly and I do not feel like myself overall. This, more than anything else in the winter is what I do not like, sicknesses! They always seem to be more prominent in the winter months than in the summer months.
Well, what to do, other than just try to rest.
Good Wednesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

Crisco is vegetable shortening, not lard! The cookie recipe that earned me the most compliments was from a freebie Crisco booklet.
I have two of my mom’s cookbooks from the 1950s—1960s, plus some of her recipe cards and recipes she cut from magazines, plus some commercial recipe booklets from the 1970s—1980s. I’ll never make most of them, but sometimes I just enjoy browsing through them!
