It's sunny & clear this morning, but it's still chilly. I like it!

I blew it again this morning. I have an appointment for a physical next week, and I was supposed to fast one morning this week so I could have blood drawn...and I can't remember not to eat! I guess I'll have to reschedule again. LOL

Good Morning, Folks of the Christmas Persuasion!

And nothing pursuades us better than our Milestone markers that we are moving through the year at a rapid rate indeed.

But let's look at today's numbers before we tackle Milestone matters:
Days to the Season: 235
Days to Christmas Day: 277

The ONE-QUARTER point to Christmas Day 2018. It's drawing nigh.
In fact, it will be here in LESS THAN HALF A WEEK!
That's right. A scant 3 days from now.
And just wait until you see what the next two markers after that one are!
(I'll give you a hint. They are back-to-back. And that happens only once a year, Folks!)


We are in a colder than normal rut here, and are predicted to remain so until the middle of next week. Plus, we have a chilly rain predicted for Saturday.
(Spring? Where are you??)
For now, we have started off this final morning of the work week at 32 degrees, here.

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

After the funeral yesterday, I was driving back home through a nearby town when I saw something in the road. A tree hangs over part that part of the 5-lane highway, so I thought it was a fallen limb. I started to cross into the next lane to avoid it when I realized it was a child standing in the road! He couldn't have been more that 2 years old, facing away from oncoming cars. AND CARS WERE JUST GOING AROUND HIM!! I used my truck to block both of the lanes of traffic that he was near, then jumped out, grabbed him and ran to the side of the road. A couple ladies who saw this stopped and called 911, and a few minutes later a girl approx. 10 years old came from a nearby house and said he was her brother. Apparently, no parent was around and the children were left at home. The ladies gave the girl a stern talking-to about watching the younger children, and she took the boy home.

I can't believe how careless some people are with their children, AND HOW PEOPLE ON THE ROAD JUST DROVE AROUND THIS LITTLE BOY AND KEPT GOING!!

Sorry, my blood pressure is still up about this whole thing.

Not too much planned this weekend. I may take the girls to the mall tomorrow as my youngest one has to get a couple of b-day gifts for a couple of friends. And my oldest daughter will gladly go to the mall on any occasion...lol

Good Friday morning! It's been sunny and warmer all week here and I see grass again in some places! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift, so I'll be doing some grocery shopping this morning before heading into work. I also have a doctor's appointment at 12pm for my left elbow and forearm. I banged my elbow very hard on a countertop a few weeks back and there is still pain, and 3 weeks ago I seemed to pull a muscle in my forearm doing over-handed bicep curls and it still hurts when I lift anything with that arm, despite taking it easy on weight lifting and doing stretching exercises. We'll see what the doctor has to say. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday! It's Rudolph Eve, Eve!! Didn't we JUST have one of those??
I enjoyed my afternoon off. I made Cheeseburger Soup. I watched our HS boys ballgame - holy Hannah what a barn burner!!! We ended up the winner, by 2 points. VERY exciting/nerve wracking game!! Moms Amish girl called to ask if I could stay with mom for a little bit so she could go to the legion garage sales. So I spent a little time at moms. It was a nice afternoon off, but too fast - of course! Good news is I have back to back afternoons off! I won't have a lot of time after work today before I have to report for duty at moms!

We made Chocolate cookies with raspberry filled vanilla chips and chocolate chips cookies however the chocolate chips were filled with caramel.

Sounds good!! You reminded me I bought some of those chocolate chips with caramel in the middle. I haven't used them yet. Can't be bad!! Maybe I'll make some cookies at moms this weekend?!

Made a pit stop at the local thrift store and picked up a couple books including a christmas themed novel so I will be reading that this weekend

Now you have me thinking - maybe I need to bring a Christmas themed book along to moms for the weekend. LOL Hmmmm!

You have to be careful with that kind of snow, hope your back is alright. I let my husband dig us out today. I didn’t go out to snap a picture this morning, wish I did. We hit 45 today and it’s already melting away. Here’s some snowfall totals from a local meteorologist’s Instagram account.

Wow. This is shocking and so scary! Glad you were there to help the little one. I’ve got to say that I probably would have given those ladies a piece of my mind. That poor 10 year old girl was as much a victim of bad parenting as her little brother. No way should she have been left in charge!!! Those poor children.....

Morning MMC. TGIF. Looks like we finally will see spring weather next week. I see several days in the 50s with sun. That's going to feel like Miami compared to the weather we've had this month. First though a Friday and a weekend to look forward to. Just got errands to do Saturday and visiting my Uncle on Sunday like we do monthly. And can anyone believe this weekend will be Rudolph Day #3? Wow...slow down time already!

Looks like we went from a chance of 5-8" tonight/tomorrow, down to a few flurries!

It’s going to be partly sunny here today with highs near 45 degrees. I need to make a Target run this morning and I’m going to visit my parents later this afternoon. I’ll be working on daily chores in between. Taking a break from cooking tonight, we’re going to order pizza
