Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning! It’s gonna be very humid and in the 90s. DH is off again today and we’re babysitting my niece. We usually have her two days a week and we enjoy it very much. She’s 6.5 months, so she’s learning new things everyday.

We had a great time at the game last night - my sister, her husband, and the baby met us there. They also had fireworks, so it made for a great evening.

Not much planned for today. DD has baton lessons this evening, but we’ll mainly probably just enjoy the day and relax.

Good Morning Friends, old and new!

Back from the beach.
We completed our work getting the cottage ready for our first renters and left just 50 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive. (And that's cutting it a bit close!)
But it's good to be home and back to the count.

First up, we extend our THANKS! once again to Edge for filling in and seeing us enter single digits to the Christmas Day Milestone in style and class.

By golly I had to check it twice, just to see if Edge was being naughty or nice.
And it's true. We DID reach single digits to the half way point to Christma Day yesterday.....and today, we are even closer.
EIGHT DAYS.
That's all that separates us from the auspicious HALF WAY point!

Good weather for our cottage visit. No rain at all until we were almost all the way home yesterday afternoon. It was a bit warm and humid, though, but not too bad for mid June.
Today will see us reach 97 degrees with 98 predicted for tomorrow.
(Hey. Summer is not even officially here yet, for heaven's sake!)
We begin this new week at 77 degrees.

Happy Monday everyone. Rain is in the forecast for today and we really need it. My poor plants are looking a bit parched. A small trip to the farmers market yesterday and I picked up a nice map of the local farms and markets which sell to the public. We're trying to keep things local and seasonal, so it's time for asparagus, strawberries, and rhubarb. We're almost at the halfway point already. Christmas will be here before you know it!

My cousin had her baby girl, yesterday afternoon. That means my father - in - law chalked up his latest great niece on his birthday. No problem remembering this date.
Next month's annual family reunion will set a new mark for youngest participant at five weeks old. The oldest member of the clan, there, will be a mere 82 years eight months. Sorry stat jockeys, that is not one for the record books.

Congrats on the new family member! ♥

I hope the new team caring for your mother will be as great as previous caregivers and that she won’t be affected too much by all these changes. Sending good thoughts your mother’s way. And hope you’ll have a great weekend Holiday!

Thank you! The new hospice nurse seems super nice! She's only going to come 1x per week instead of 2, which - as long as mom is doing well, is perfect!!
It was a crazy weekend. We ended up bringing in a caregiver last night who hasn't been with mom for probably close to a year!! Her normal Sunday night caregiver had something come up, so she canceled out on us Sunday morning! Gah!!! (we totally understand - stuff happens!) It all worked out!

Good Friday afternoon! A long work week of calling candidates and references for our new store. I am looking forward to a weekend off. We’re about to leave for David’s MRI appointment and then we’ll grab something to eat somewhere on the way back. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend coming up!

Good Saturday morning! It's going to be a really hot weekend and with all that humidity building up, there will be a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. We're taking Loki to the groomer's this morning, he will lose all that "floofness" that we love but he will be more comfortable in the Summer months ahead. It'll be a day of laundry and chores and preparing a game for our new employees' first orientation on June 23rd. We'll try and enjoy the sun a bit after bringing Loki home. Enjoy a great day everyone!

Lucy is supposed to be groomed Wednesday! Her fur is just at the cutest point right now & with the festival this weekend, I might have her wait another 2 weeks to cut her! She has to look good for all the peeps who are coming to see her this weekend!
I hope Loki's appointment went well!

7:15 Saturday morning and I’ve already been to the grocery and have a couple loads of laundry knocked out. What was I thinking? I didn’t even go to bed until 2. I think it’s time for a nap. I hope everyone has a great day and stays cool out there!!!

I threw a load in this morning to hang on the line at lunch. Need to get another load out at lunch too! Once that tent goes up, it covers my clothesline!! 3

Good morning to all in Christmas Land!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and a good Father's Day.
Yesterday was a very nice day here. My wife and Henry (youngest son) had a few small gifts for me in the morning and made German Pancakes from breakfast. Then we had our parents over to celebrate Father's Day with them too. It was a great day.

Yesterday was also my wife and I's 12 year anniversary. We did not do anything special as our Indy trip was our anniversary celebration.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a hot Saturday, But I got the lawn mowed and all the string-trimming done. The pool has never felt more refreshing as it did Saturday afternoon LOL!

Nancy and I went with our niece and her boys to see The Incredibles 2 on Friday night. It was great!

Yesterday, we took Bernie to his favorite restaurant; an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet. We pigged-out, and I'm still not hungry!

Things are warming up here too. Sourdough baking today, plus the regular chores. Mowing the lawn because we are having company tomorrow afternoon. Have a great Saturday everyone.

Hello all.
It is hot today! And no I do not like it.

A good start to the day though. We went to breakfast at a local family owned restaurant called Buffalo Jacks. It was great! Then we went to the downtown farmer's market and picked up a couple of things.

Tomorrow we are having my dad and my wife's dad over for a cookout for Father's Day. Though besides cooking outside, we will probably stay inside to eat and talk. My dad hates the heat as much as I do and my father-in-law takes medication which makes him sensitive to the heat.

Time to get some writing done. Everyone have a great day!

Back home after taking Loki to the dog park. We usually take him to the large dogs area because there's more room for him to run and he usually likes big dogs. But today we went into the small dogs play area and he had plenty of fun with 2 Beagles and a crazy hyper 4-month old Goldendoodle. She was running all over and very friendly and so sweet and soft. That is my fave new breed of dogs. The Beagles were after Loki's ball but they were so well-behaved and wouldn't touch it until I said it was ok. It felt so good being outside in the sun but just like for Loki, I think I may need a nap soon.

Awe! Sounds like a great day. We have several goldendoodles in our neighborhood. Everyone who doesn't know the Wheaten breed thinks Lucy is a goldendoodle.
