Good afternoon, hope everyone had a great fathers day yesterday. Ours started off iffy but then turned out to be a great day. Our power went out yesterday morning while I was in the middle of making breakfast, good thing our stove is gas so the power outage didn't affect it. A tractor trailer hit a pole and ripped down the lines, power was out for 1 1/2 hours. Spent the afternoon at my FILs for a BBQ and swimming. The heat and humidity really took a climb this weekend and we had to turn our AC back on. Although the heat and humidity hasn't been as bad yet I am already over it LOL and it has ben thinking of cooler, crisper days a head. If the ret of summer could stay at 80 and low humidity it would be great LOL. Have a great day

Morning MMC! It's hot as heck outside! Going to be in the 90s today and humid. My brother goes back to San Diego later today. Kind of sad but he already has told us his next trip here is going to be Friday, December 21st. Think about that...gives you chills that date doesn't it? Have a great one!

Merry Monday!
It’s going to be sunny, warm & humid today with highs near 85 degrees. Back to my regular routine of errands and chores today. I have a ton of laundry to do as well, I fell behind yesterday. Lots of leftovers so I’m going to take a break from cooking tonight. I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and has a great week ahead!!!

Good Morning Friends, old and new!

Back from the beach.
We completed our work getting the cottage ready for our first renters and left just 50 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive. (And that's cutting it a bit close!)
But it's good to be home and back to the count.

First up, we extend our THANKS! once again to Edge for filling in and seeing us enter single digits to the Christmas Day Milestone in style and class.

Wait. Did Edge say SINGLE DIGITS?

Days to Christmas Day: 190

By golly I had to check it twice, just to see if Edge was being naughty or nice.
And it's true. We DID reach single digits to the half way point to Christma Day yesterday.....and today, we are even closer.
EIGHT DAYS.
That's all that separates us from the auspicious HALF WAY point!

Good weather for our cottage visit. No rain at all until we were almost all the way home yesterday afternoon. It was a bit warm and humid, though, but not too bad for mid June.
Today will see us reach 97 degrees with 98 predicted for tomorrow.
(Hey. Summer is not even officially here yet, for heaven's sake!)
We begin this new week at 77 degrees.

Good morning to all in Christmas Land!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and a good Father's Day.
Yesterday was a very nice day here. My wife and Henry (youngest son) had a few small gifts for me in the morning and made German Pancakes from breakfast. Then we had our parents over to celebrate Father's Day with them too. It was a great day.

Yesterday was also my wife and I's 12 year anniversary. We did not do anything special as our Indy trip was our anniversary celebration.

So funny ~ I was just thinking about German pancakes at moms yesterday morning & how I haven't made them for a long time. Sounds tasty!

Good morning! It’s gonna be very humid and in the 90s. DH is off again today and we’re babysitting my niece. We usually have her two days a week and we enjoy it very much. She’s 6.5 months, so she’s learning new things everyday.

We had a great time at the game last night - my sister, her husband, and the baby met us there. They also had fireworks, so it made for a great evening.

Not much planned for today. DD has baton lessons this evening, but we’ll mainly probably just enjoy the day and relax.

Happy Monday everyone. Rain is in the forecast for today and we really need it. My poor plants are looking a bit parched. A small trip to the farmers market yesterday and I picked up a nice map of the local farms and markets which sell to the public. We're trying to keep things local and seasonal, so it's time for asparagus, strawberries, and rhubarb. We're almost at the halfway point already. Christmas will be here before you know it!

My flowers got watered (not by mother nature) twice yesterday! Whew, it was/is hot!!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a hot Saturday, But I got the lawn mowed and all the string-trimming done. The pool has never felt more refreshing as it did Saturday afternoon LOL!

Nancy and I went with our niece and her boys to see The Incredibles 2 on Friday night. It was great!

Yesterday, we took Bernie to his favorite restaurant; an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet. We pigged-out, and I'm still not hungry!

Merry Monday!

As several have posted, it is hot outside and very humid. It was raining a couple of minutes ago, but it didn't cool things off any. Since I don't use a fan or have central air, I usually leave the windows closed most of the day and only open them at night. However, it got a bit stuffy in here, so they are wide open and it hasn't changed the temperature up or down as of yet. It was nice listening to the rain fall.

Stayed home today as I have a rather nasty headache. It isn't as bad as it was this morning, but it is still bothersome. I think it is about time for a bit of caffeine ~ there is a frappuccino in the fridge "calling my name", as my dad would say. = )
