I hope she loves her new furniture - and it comes in early, rather than later! Continued prayers for your SIL & family!
Have a good day HMG!

Happy Friday Eve, HmG~
Hope that the furniture delivery went well, and that your daughter and her fiancé enjoy it!
I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts tonight, prayers for the family <3

Thank you both <3

What do you plan to grill first? Have fun!!QUOTE]

For the first time, I've bought some sirloin steaks just for this momentous occasion. I'll put some sliced portabellas, butter and onions in some aluminum foil with seasoning and put them on the top shelf to slowly cook, put a few potatoes and some ears of corn on there also.

I've also been stocking up on some Johnsonville brats, hamburgers and dogs too! Mmmmmm, there's nothing like a grilled hotdog.

Hey, now that I'm thinking of it, It's been awhile for me since I have cooked on a grille, but do you or anyone else, have any ideas and recipe's on grilling that you used, tried, true and tested and you approve of? Thank you!

That sounds delicious!!

For brats, we usually boil them in beer and onions before throwing them on the grill.

For steaks, we usually use a tenderizer and season them with salt, pepper, and a rub or Pleasoning- or marinate them overnight.
Stubbs is our favorite marinade brand, and has many different flavors to choose from. We also enjoy the A1 Chicago steakhouse marinade.

Hope Carolina enjoys seeing her classroom, and meeting some new classmates!
And I hope that you enjoyed lunch with your friend!

Hope your kids have a great first day back at school!
Have fun Christmas shopping with your husband~
Thank you! She had fun and is looking forward to Tuesday. One little girl she is friends with from last year is in her class. The mom and I planned it that way. Lunch with friend didn't get to happen today. She was having problems with her washer as it was getting to the rinse cycle, so she had to wring everything out and take it to her parents to finish washing.

@Holiday Happy Birthday! Have a great day!

Happy Friday MMC! 4 Day Weeks always remind me how long a 5 day week is cause this one seems long enough as is. But Friday did come quicker than usual so TGIF to everyone. First football weekend coming up. Errands on Saturday and hopefully mostly a relaxing weekend. Last weekend was busy and running all over. Enough time to do that during the Christmas Season. Have a great Friday!

Merry Friday MMC!
We had some storms pass through last night and the temperatures cooled off a bit. It’s going to be cloudy today with a chance of a shower, highs near 75 degrees. Not too much going on here, I’m just having my coffee and I’m working on a menu plan and grocery list. I’m going to take a ride to the butcher this morning. Back home afterward to tidy up, start laundry and clean the floors. My youngest is coming over later and we will be going to HomeGoods & Michael’s to get her a few things for the apartment. Maybe I’ll treat myself to something to add to my Autumn decor. I am definitely going to decorate this weekend and I’ll post pictures. I hope eeveryone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

Ohhhhhh, the Brats, I like the way you prepped them for grilling, sounds delicious!

I didn't think about marinating the steaks overnight; great idea! What do you marinade them in besides the A1 steakhouse?

I remember that one of my greatest challenges was chicken, and it coming off the grille too dry on the inside. Do you do much grilling with chicken?

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Arrivers!

We are indeed here once again on the threshold of yet another weekend oasis on our long voyage back to Christmas.
A time to pause, relax and review the latest data release.

Days to the Season: 67
Days to Christmas Day: 109

And there you have it.
SINGLE DIGITS now, to the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW.
9
days.
Wow!

Can I report a break in the heat and humidity at last?
Nope. Still with us for today, at least.
I am cautiously optimistic about the weekend, however.
Today has dawned damp, at 73 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Fabulous Friday Friends!
Enjoy your Weekend Eve!

Happy Friday!
We had storms last night so my daughter's practice was canceled. This weekend my oldest daughter has her first soccer game tomorrow and then we are going to a cookout at a friend's house.
On Sunday, my youngest has her first softball game.
Hopefully, I can get in some decorating in between.
Hope you all have a great day!

Glad to hear Jacobs big day went better.. that girl was no good anyways breaking up with him on his birthday, sheesh!!! It has been in the 90's here too.... when is the fall weather ever going to come!?

Yesterday I had the strangest day.. Hubby and I have been stressing out lately over finances, between having to repair the AC and the vet bills things have been really tough but we are making it by.. When we went to subway for dinner last night (split a foot long BMT , yum!) we were sitting at the table in the restaurant when a guy we had never seen before walks up to our table, puts down a wad of cash in front of us , smiled and said "Have a great day!" and then walked out. I'm pretty sure I met an angel yesterday. Hubby and I were both just in shock, we sat there for a good 15 minutes just trying to process what had happened. We agreed next month when we're doing better financially we're going to pay it forward too :). In other news the pup is doing much better today. I found his little fall snoopy bandanna, I will have to take a picture and post it here soon :) .
Wow!! that is so nice!! So happy to hear your pup is better!

Thanks snowflake!! ;) Sending hugs back your way!! Love that pic! :D

I got the sweetest card & letter in the mail from Emma today! I've already written her back!
And the guess what I got in the mail from my sister???? A $943 bill!!!!! LOL! (They own the auto repair shop we take our vehicles too, so that's what it was for....but of course I had to razz her!!!) Really....on my birthday???? ;)

I hope your day is going well!!!
Happy Birthday, Holiday!! Hope you had a great day!

One of the BEST grilled steaks I ever had---no, THE best---was prepared with only salt, pepper, and a coat of Kitchen Bouquet (browning and seasoning sauce).

Good Friday morning! A glorious, sunny and COOL Summer morning. I'm hanging clothes out to dry and will be driving my dad to an eye exam in a half hour. It's the first time that they are doind a dilation test to check all the way to the back of his eyes and of course he won't be able to drive afterwards. I'll probably go a long walk with Loki afterwards to enjoy this weather, but other than that, I have nothing planned and that's how I'm enjoying my vacation, ie no plans. Have a wonderful day everyone!

I've been keeping a low profile lately, as we've had a couple doses of bad news in the past two weeks, and it didn't seem right to drop a load of sad into everyone's celebrating the 'Bers. First, our household income has taken a serious hit for the foreseeable future; hopefully something will come along to at least partially replace that. But even sadder, we lost our dear Gloria Jean over the Labor Day weekend. (If you visit the celebrity deaths thread or the prayer requests thread, you will see more details.) We were afraid her passing would go unnoticed, but Extra TV, Hollywood Reporter, and The New York Times all posted obituaries for her, as well as some blogs. She will be greatly missed, but oh, such a lot of wonderful memories Mr. and I have of the times we spent with her during the past 15 years. The GloriaJeanSings.com website is still up and running in her memory; you can see film clips of her there, and listen to audio clips of her amazing voice. (That's her picture in my avatar---it's a screenshot from "Snowtime Serenade" that I colorized. She presses her nose against the window at the end of the film; that's why it looks a little squashed.) She loved Halloween and Christmas; she'll be in our hearts during those holidays.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Bless her heart, it sounds like she was a wonderful person. I'll be sure to keep y'all in my prayers.
