Here’s hoping the weather forecast changes by Sunday. I remember when we went to Boston and had bought tickets ahead of time to see the Red Sox. As we were having supper before the game it started pouring rain and I thought the game would be cancelled. But skies cleared up just in time and it was a great evening of baseball. Hope you have a great time at the game no matter what Holiday.
It sure would be nice if we luck out like that. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!! xx Thanks Martine!

Thank you! She had fun and is looking forward to Tuesday. One little girl she is friends with from last year is in her class. The mom and I planned it that way. Lunch with friend didn't get to happen today. She was having problems with her washer as it was getting to the rinse cycle, so she had to wring everything out and take it to her parents to finish washing.

@Holiday Happy Birthday! Have a great day!
That is great!
And that will be very nice for her to start with a friend in her class :)

Darn appliances...Hope you get to have lunch with your friend soon~

A Caution/ Alert for the East Coast of the US!

For all of us that are on the East Coast, better start keeping an eye on that hurricane that's in the Atlantic! She's a big one and supposed to get even stronger as she churns towards the East Coast. 90% of the spaghetti models are now in align with each other, predicting that she's going to hit the East Coast somewhere between South Carolina and New jersey! Get this, one of the models, is showing the eye of the hurricane going straight on up the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.

Merry Friday MMC!
We had some storms pass through last night and the temperatures cooled off a bit. It’s going to be cloudy today with a chance of a shower, highs near 75 degrees. Not too much going on here, I’m just having my coffee and I’m working on a menu plan and grocery list. I’m going to take a ride to the butcher this morning. Back home afterward to tidy up, start laundry and clean the floors. My youngest is coming over later and we will be going to HomeGoods & Michael’s to get her a few things for the apartment. Maybe I’ll treat myself to something to add to my Autumn decor. I am definitely going to decorate this weekend and I’ll post pictures. I hope eeveryone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

Happy Friday, HmG!!
Enjoy the cooler weather today~
Have fun shopping with your daughter!!
Looking forward to seeing your decorations!!
Have a great day!
xo

Ohhhhhh, the Brats, I like the way you prepped them for grilling, sounds delicious!

I didn't think about marinating the steaks overnight; great idea! What do you marinade them in besides the A1 steakhouse?

I remember that one of my greatest challenges was chicken, and it coming off the grille too dry on the inside. Do you do much grilling with chicken?

We either use a Stubb's marinade (they have many to choose from!) or the A1 Steakhouse. Stubb's has a Texas Steakhouse one that is excellent, a teriyaki one, even a Dr. Pepper one that is interesting! We just season the steaks, close them in a gallon size Ziploc bag & spread the marinade around good-give it a few shakes-and put them in the refrigerator overnight.
I sometimes will cook mushrooms in butter, garlic, and a dash of wine while Adrian throws them on the grill!

We also make this Bernaise sauce for a treat, pure heaven!!

My original post must've autocorrected, but these seasonings are excellent:

And made in my hometown!

We haven't mastered chicken, I see Holiday has some good recommendations though!

Happy Friday!
We had storms last night so my daughter's practice was canceled. This weekend my oldest daughter has her first soccer game tomorrow and then we are going to a cookout at a friend's house.
On Sunday, my youngest has her first softball game.
Hopefully, I can get in some decorating in between.
Hope you all have a great day!

Merry Friday, SFM!!
Hope your daughters have great first games this weekend, and that the weather cooperates!
Have fun at your cookout, and decorating too!

Good Friday morning! A glorious, sunny and COOL Summer morning. I'm hanging clothes out to dry and will be driving my dad to an eye exam in a half hour. It's the first time that they are doind a dilation test to check all the way to the back of his eyes and of course he won't be able to drive afterwards. I'll probably go a long walk with Loki afterwards to enjoy this weather, but other than that, I have nothing planned and that's how I'm enjoying my vacation, ie no plans. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hope your Dad's appointment goes well~
Enjoy the beautiful weather, and walk with Loki!
Have a great day, Martine!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

We're all getting ready for Elizabeth's next production, "The Addams Family Musical', starting this Thursday. She's the choreographer, and she's very happy with the cast's improvement.

When this is over, she's starting preparation for her school's One-Act Play competition. They are doing "The Music Man." She was in the full musical a couple years ago, and this will be a one-act version of that production. It should be fun!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Happy Friday, Brad!
I bet Elizabeth is in her element :) Congrats to her.
Have a great day!

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday! It's been a bit of a crazy morning around here! Looking forward to quitting time! :)
I have a busy afternoon planned also. I need to finish laundry & make cheesy cornbread for tomorrow. I need to run to the lake to get a few things! I need to clean out the Durango. And I need to get stuff packed up for tomorrow - can't forget all the dogs needs too!!
I'm not sure what time we're leaving in the morning, but the Buckeye game is at 3:30. We'll drop Lucy off at our friends house & they are going to take us to the game. I hope we don't get drenched but it sounds like there is a good chance we will. UGH! (I'd rather watch football in snow than rain!!) We will Uber it back to their house after the game & we're having chili, cornbread...and whatever else! 3 of our other friends will be there & we're all spending the night! Should be a fun day. Not sure what will be up for Sunday, but I don't have to work Monday. Woot!

Everyone, have a great day!!

Happy Friday!! TGIF, lady!!
Have a wonderful time this weekend, your Birthday weekend :D

I've been keeping a low profile lately, as we've had a couple doses of bad news in the past two weeks, and it didn't seem right to drop a load of sad into everyone's celebrating the 'Bers. First, our household income has taken a serious hit for the foreseeable future; hopefully something will come along to at least partially replace that. But even sadder, we lost our dear Gloria Jean over the Labor Day weekend. (If you visit the celebrity deaths thread or the prayer requests thread, you will see more details.) We were afraid her passing would go unnoticed, but Extra TV, Hollywood Reporter, and The New York Times all posted obituaries for her, as well as some blogs. She will be greatly missed, but oh, such a lot of wonderful memories Mr. and I have of the times we spent with her during the past 15 years. The GloriaJeanSings.com website is still up and running in her memory; you can see film clips of her there, and listen to audio clips of her amazing voice. (That's her picture in my avatar---it's a screenshot from "Snowtime Serenade" that I colorized. She presses her nose against the window at the end of the film; that's why it looks a little squashed.) She loved Halloween and Christmas; she'll be in our hearts during those holidays.
Continued prayers for you & Mr., Merry~
Sending hugs and positive energy your way.

I am sorry to hear you are having such a rough time and so sorry to hear about Gloria.
I will definitely keep you all in my prayers.

Ugh...I just saw this on the news! I am praying for a miss!!

This is fantastic Snowflake! Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I can guarantee you that I will be checking all this out!

Ugh...I just saw this on the news! I am praying for a miss!!

I know.

I will be firing the generator up this weekend and getting the gas containers filled up just in case. Even if it hits elsewhere, there are those tropical force winds that can possibly extend outwards and knock trees over.

We like to dice potatoes in an aluminum foil pack, add some onion, bell pepper, onion soup mix & butter - then grill! YUM!!

For steaks we bring them to room temp, (my BIL the butchers tip) add seasoning (whatever is your favorite - we have a steak seasoning we use, can't remember what it's called) let that marinate in a bit, then grill them. Yum!!

For chicken breast, I cook them mostly on aluminum foil, but partially directly on the grill as well to get the marks/flavor! But the aluminum helps keep in the moisture. I also like to add buffalo sauce - or start out with marinated chicken breast! :)

ENJOY!!!

Sounds like a plan to me, I'm going to give it a try. Thank you Holiday!

I like to slice onions, squash, red & green peppers, & zucchini in a foil pan with butter and Season-All. Cover and put on the top rack while I'm grilling. Awesome!

Mmmm, that does sound good! Thanks Brad. I'm going to try it with the squash and zucchini.

Sounds tasty!!
That made me think of zucchini boats...haven't made them in a long time. If I remember right - after you slice the zucchini in half lengthwise to make a boat, scoop out the seeds, add brown sugar & I'm thinking honey & a little butter & grill it! It was a sweet treat! OR it may have just been brown sugar & butter...can't remember. I'll have to ask my friend. LOL

I've never heard of this but it sounds yummy. How long do you bake them for? And it what type of pan?

Thanks for the warning! I'm about 50 miles inland from the Jersey Shore. My fiancés grandparents live about 10 mins from the beach and their home was heavily damaged in the "flood" as his grandma says....the flood would be Superstorm Sandy

Everyone in the path, be safe!

Sorry to hear that, hope it’s an easy/less expensive fix.
