For the first time, I've bought some sirloin steaks just for this momentous occasion. I'll put some sliced portabellas, butter and onions in some aluminum foil with seasoning and put them on the top shelf to slowly cook, put a few potatoes and some ears of corn on there also.

I've also been stocking up on some Johnsonville brats, hamburgers and dogs too! Mmmmmm, there's nothing like a grilled hotdog.

Hey, now that I'm thinking of it, It's been awhile for me since I have cooked on a grille, but do you or anyone else, have any ideas and recipe's on grilling that you used, tried, true and tested and you approve of? Thank you!

We like to dice potatoes in an aluminum foil pack, add some onion, bell pepper, onion soup mix & butter - then grill! YUM!!

For steaks we bring them to room temp, (my BIL the butchers tip) add seasoning (whatever is your favorite - we have a steak seasoning we use, can't remember what it's called) let that marinate in a bit, then grill them. Yum!!

For chicken breast, I cook them mostly on aluminum foil, but partially directly on the grill as well to get the marks/flavor! But the aluminum helps keep in the moisture. I also like to add buffalo sauce - or start out with marinated chicken breast! :)

ENJOY!!!

Thank you! She had fun and is looking forward to Tuesday. One little girl she is friends with from last year is in her class. The mom and I planned it that way. Lunch with friend didn't get to happen today. She was having problems with her washer as it was getting to the rinse cycle, so she had to wring everything out and take it to her parents to finish washing.

@Holiday Happy Birthday! Have a great day!
Sorry you didn't get to have lunch with your friend!

And thank you!! :)

Happy Friday MMC! 4 Day Weeks always remind me how long a 5 day week is cause this one seems long enough as is. But Friday did come quicker than usual so TGIF to everyone. First football weekend coming up. Errands on Saturday and hopefully mostly a relaxing weekend. Last weekend was busy and running all over. Enough time to do that during the Christmas Season. Have a great Friday!
I'm happy to have another 4 day week next week...but the week after that will be brutal. LOL!
Have a great weekend!

Merry Friday MMC!
We had some storms pass through last night and the temperatures cooled off a bit. It’s going to be cloudy today with a chance of a shower, highs near 75 degrees. Not too much going on here, I’m just having my coffee and I’m working on a menu plan and grocery list. I’m going to take a ride to the butcher this morning. Back home afterward to tidy up, start laundry and clean the floors. My youngest is coming over later and we will be going to HomeGoods & Michael’s to get her a few things for the apartment. Maybe I’ll treat myself to something to add to my Autumn decor. I am definitely going to decorate this weekend and I’ll post pictures. I hope eeveryone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx
As you know - can't wait to see your decs!! Have a great weekend!!! Hope you find something good at home goods & Michaels! :D

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Arrivers!

We are indeed here once again on the threshold of yet another weekend oasis on our long voyage back to Christmas.
A time to pause, relax and review the latest data release.

Days to the Season: 67
Days to Christmas Day: 109

And there you have it.
SINGLE DIGITS now, to the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW.
9
days.
Wow!

Can I report a break in the heat and humidity at last?
Nope. Still with us for today, at least.
I am cautiously optimistic about the weekend, however.
Today has dawned damp, at 73 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Fabulous Friday Friends!
Enjoy your Weekend Eve!
Have a great weekend crown!

I've been keeping a low profile lately, as we've had a couple doses of bad news in the past two weeks, and it didn't seem right to drop a load of sad into everyone's celebrating the 'Bers. First, our household income has taken a serious hit for the foreseeable future; hopefully something will come along to at least partially replace that. But even sadder, we lost our dear Gloria Jean over the Labor Day weekend. (If you visit the celebrity deaths thread or the prayer requests thread, you will see more details.) We were afraid her passing would go unnoticed, but Extra TV, Hollywood Reporter, and The New York Times all posted obituaries for her, as well as some blogs. She will be greatly missed, but oh, such a lot of wonderful memories Mr. and I have of the times we spent with her during the past 15 years. The GloriaJeanSings.com website is still up and running in her memory; you can see film clips of her there, and listen to audio clips of her amazing voice. (That's her picture in my avatar---it's a screenshot from "Snowtime Serenade" that I colorized. She presses her nose against the window at the end of the film; that's why it looks a little squashed.) She loved Halloween and Christmas; she'll be in our hearts during those holidays.

Oh Merry, I'm so sorry Merry to hear of all this. I've been wondering what was going on, especially since I haven't seen any postings from you (which is very unusual). In the back of my mind, I was dreading of hearing sad news of Gloria. I believe that I can say this for all of us here, is that she will be sadly missed. I, myself considered her a part of our family, because she was here, a part of MMC. That was because you so graciously shared her, her life, and her life experiences with us. I thank you for that!

My friend, I am sorry of hearing about the sudden changes of your financial situations for the near future, I've been hit like that before unexpectedly in the past and I'm sure that in due time, things will greatly turn around for you both in a very positive way. My thoughts and my prayers are with you both, in so many ways. Stay positive, pray and hold the faith, for there is a reason for everything; whatever that reason may be...

Happy Friday!
We had storms last night so my daughter's practice was canceled. This weekend my oldest daughter has her first soccer game tomorrow and then we are going to a cookout at a friend's house.
On Sunday, my youngest has her first softball game.
Hopefully, I can get in some decorating in between.
Hope you all have a great day!
Enjoy the cookout & have fun decorating!! Looking forward to seeing your pics too! :)

Happy Birthday, Holiday!! Hope you had a great day!
Thank you!! :)

Good Friday morning! A glorious, sunny and COOL Summer morning. I'm hanging clothes out to dry and will be driving my dad to an eye exam in a half hour. It's the first time that they are doind a dilation test to check all the way to the back of his eyes and of course he won't be able to drive afterwards. I'll probably go a long walk with Loki afterwards to enjoy this weather, but other than that, I have nothing planned and that's how I'm enjoying my vacation, ie no plans. Have a wonderful day everyone!
I hope your Dads appointment goes well. Enjoy your walk & the rest of your day!!

I like to slice onions, squash, red & green peppers, & zucchini in a foil pan with butter and Season-All. Cover and put on the top rack while I'm grilling. Awesome!

Sounds tasty!!
That made me think of zucchini boats...haven't made them in a long time. If I remember right - after you slice the zucchini in half lengthwise to make a boat, scoop out the seeds, add brown sugar & I'm thinking honey & a little butter & grill it! It was a sweet treat! OR it may have just been brown sugar & butter...can't remember. I'll have to ask my friend. LOL

TGIF, Christmas friends!

We're all getting ready for Elizabeth's next production, "The Addams Family Musical', starting this Thursday. She's the choreographer, and she's very happy with the cast's improvement.

When this is over, she's starting preparation for her school's One-Act Play competition. They are doing "The Music Man." She was in the full musical a couple years ago, and this will be a one-act version of that production. It should be fun!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday! It's been a bit of a crazy morning around here! Looking forward to quitting time! :)
I have a busy afternoon planned also. I need to finish laundry & make cheesy cornbread for tomorrow. I need to run to the lake to get a few things! I need to clean out the Durango. And I need to get stuff packed up for tomorrow - can't forget all the dogs needs too!!
I'm not sure what time we're leaving in the morning, but the Buckeye game is at 3:30. We'll drop Lucy off at our friends house & they are going to take us to the game. I hope we don't get drenched but it sounds like there is a good chance we will. UGH! (I'd rather watch football in snow than rain!!) We will Uber it back to their house after the game & we're having chili, cornbread...and whatever else! 3 of our other friends will be there & we're all spending the night! Should be a fun day. Not sure what will be up for Sunday, but I don't have to work Monday. Woot!

Everyone, have a great day!!

MerryCarey I’m very sorry for the loss of Gloria Jean. I loved reading your stories about her, she seemed like a wonderful woman who leaves those who knew her with great memories. I’m also very sorry to read about your financial situation at the moment. I truly hope opportunities arise very soon. Sending you positive thoughts.

Sounds like a busy but fun weekend!!
Hope you had a great birthday!
Thank you! Looking forward to it! :)
My birthday was good & pretty uneventful...but with our upcoming weekend, I'm fine 'n dandy with that!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Here’s hoping the weather forecast changes by Sunday. I remember when we went to Boston and had bought tickets ahead of time to see the Red Sox. As we were having supper before the game it started pouring rain and I thought the game would be cancelled. But skies cleared up just in time and it was a great evening of baseball. Hope you have a great time at the game no matter what Holiday.
