Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good afternoon ... we are well into that rollercoaster of temps now. Some days nice crisp and cool and other day warm, al most summer like. I will be happy when the temps start staying more chilly ... I am in the mood for homemade soups but still warm for those. Haven't had the chance to decorate for fall/Halloween yet, hoping to have all that done by this weekend. Take my daughter shopping tonight for a dress for the homecoming dance. Merry Wednesday!

It was a warm, rather muggy day and now it is rather chilly out. I had the windows open for a few hours ~ so nice to let in the fresh air! Got a lot done today and even had time to play with the kittens.

Thanksgiving weekend is coming up here in Canada, all the usual turkey and trimmings is on the menu!

Happy Wednesday, Happy Pines Day and Happy Hump Day. It was a nice quiet day after a really wild night of a lot of severe storms, some of them pretty wicked too, that blew thru here. Our kitties were scared and hiding most of the time. A pretty laid back, quiet evening here around here, planning to turn in soon, so ya all have a nice night.

A little excitement today. I saw a large bear below our house today. Probably an older male. It's the biggest one I've seen. We knew there was one in the neighborhood but I never imagined he was this large. We will have to pay attention outside. I'll keep a rifle nearby while raking leaves, (not to shoot it, just scare it off). Bear season starts soon. Hope he avoids the hunters.

Hopefully fall temps will begin some time soon. Highs in 70s and lows in 60s are depressing this time of the year.

Ok. Who put the mr bubble in the pines hot tub? Who threw toilet paper around the sleeping Crown and proclaimed them a " mummy"? Who allowed Jayish in in that leopard print? And who told Made to break into a chorus of the 1970s hit " Afternoon Delight"? That's it ... The Pines is officially out of control ... Yabba!

Good Thursday morning! Why am I up at 5am on my day off?! At least it means I have Loki sleeping on my lap all cozy wrapped up in a blanket. It will be rainy for part of the day and then warm and muggy. David and I will go grocery shopping this morning and then we both need to get new shoes, so more shopping this afternoon. I keep putting it off but when I'm in so much pain from walking after a day's work, it's more than time to get new shoes. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Good Thursday MMC! Well I got my first ever speeding ticket yesterday (I had gotten a few other tickets before in the past). It was my fault although it was a road that was straight and then was heading downhill and right at that point where your car starts to naturally accelerate was the cop. But I'm just going to pay it cause I don't have any points on my license and want to get rid of it. Today we have a BBQ at work but we're so busy in my department we may not be able to be there much. Have a great one today!

And now that we are over the hump, we have nothing to do but coast on to the weekend!

As we slide down hill, let's watch the passing scenery, which, of course, includes the latest count numbers.
Here they are:
Days to Halloween: 27 (Under 4 weeks to go!)
Days to the Season: 40 (Almost down into the 30's!)
Days to Christmas Day: 82 (Close to the 70's!)
(Moving right along, indeed.)

And would you believe.....
We are now down to UNDER half a week away from the 90 percent, Home Stretch mark in our Season count!
(So very hard to believe.)

We continue in a rather pleasant weather rut although the humidity is beginning to return, and today is predicted to be in the low 90's. Should be cooler for the weekend.
This day-before-Weekend Eve has commenced here in the capital of North Carolina at 68 degrees.

Happy Friday Eve! Just work for me today and my daughter has softball practice tonight and my oldest daughter has a pasta party...so I will be the taxi tonight...lol as my husband has to work late tonight. I think we may have pizza tonight for dinner.
Last night I dropped my daughter off at school for a club meeting and this house was all lit up, of course I had to snap a pic!
