Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!! Not much going on today besides what has become my new normal - old job this morning, new job this afternoon! I think tomorrow will be just the opposite & I'll be at my old job in the afternoon! Boss #1 is off Friday & Monday so I'll be the old job both of those days! Kinda looking forward to that - normalcy!
Today is our last day of heat - could it be for the year?? We'll find out! High of 78º today w/ lots of clouds & a high of 56º tomorrow...what a change!
Woke up this morning to a pink sky! You know the old saying "pink in the morn, sailors take warn!" It was pretty, but a little eerie w/ the hurricane brewing out there. And I hope everyone in the path of Michael stays safe!!! xx
Hubby didn't get home until 1:30 am this morning, but their fields are done!! YAY!

The crazy hurricane is bearing down, doggone it. We just had a safety meeting, and we're planning to close the plant at 4pm, and (obviously) stay closed tomorrow. It's strengthened to a Category 4, which means it'll still be a hurricane when it gets here. Originally, it was going to be downgraded to a tropical storm when if got here. I'm going out at lunch to collect all of the pool inflatables, deck chairs, tables, etc., and put them in the storage building.
Jacob's classes are cancelled, but he's planning to stay at university. Elizabeth's school closes at 1pm today and all day tomorrow.
We've survived the last two hurricanes with electricity intact. I hope that holds true this time! I'll try to post tomorrow. We'll see what happens. Y'all stay safe!
And I hope y'all have a great day!

We're watching the crazy hurricane, too. It's supposed to come right through our area. Great. My brother and I went out yesterday to make sure mom's generator is in working order, and I plan to move all of the patio chairs and other loose items indoors today.

Morning MMC! Hope you all in the path of the storm stay safe. This might be our last really warm day for a while. It's still got that warm/humid feeling that you get in the summer in the mornings. But this looks to be coming to an end as that storm passes to our south and pushes a front through. A 20-30 degree drop in temps is going to be a real wake up call. But that will make it feel like it's almost Halloween. Have a great day!

We’re expecting showers and storms later today with temperatures in the 70’s. Not too much going on. I’m just going to make a Target run this morning then head back home afterward to work on my daily chores. Dinner will be fried chicken and baked macaroni & cheese and a salad to be healthy lol. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone is well, have a nice day!

A Stormy Good Morning, Guys!
Tropical Storm Michael will be arriving here in central NC by this afternoon.
Rain with tropical storm force winds are predicted.
Shouldn't be a major problem (at least as compared to Florence) but it will be a less than pleasant day to say the least.
But this is pleasant, regardless of our weather:
Days to Halloween: 20 (UNDER 3 weeks remain!)
Days to the Season: 33 (ONE MONTH from the day after tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 75 (Nearing the 10 1/2 week mark!)
(The holiday countdown clock just keeps ticking.)
We are reconciled to a rainy and gusty day today, as a much-weakened Michael pays us an unwelcomed visit by afternoon.
It will be through quickly though, and tomorrow's forecast is for sunny weather with highs in the low 70's.
(Sounds wonderful!)

Good Thursday morning! Rain and more rain today. I woke up around 4:30am feeling nauseous for some reason, so after a while I went back to bed to try and settle my stomach. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift so I'm just taking it easy right now. If it weren't for the fact that I'm closing alone, I think I would rather call in sick and stay home. Hopefully I'll feel better by the time I leave for work. Hope everyone will have a good day.

Morning beautiful people! Started digging back out my Christmas cd's to get my annual mixes ready. I haven't had much time of late and it felt so good to listen to all of the new songs I've been hording in iTunes. Hope you all have a great day!

We weathered the storm with a bit of roof damage, more tree limbs down and a messy yard, but we only lost power for less than an hour. I fell asleep about 11pm and was awakened at 3am by the sound of a limb falling on the roof. About that time the power went out, but before I could distribute candles around the house, it came back on. It's still very windy, but the sun is starting to peek out.
I've mentioned before that I operate a part-time sign rental business...well, I'm pretty much out of business now. The wind destroyed half of my signs. But truthfully, I started that business several years ago to offset the cost of sending the kids to the local Christian school. Jacob has already graduated and Elizabeth will in a few months, so the signs served their purpose. My back is getting too old to do all that lifting, anyway. Still, I have to clean up the mess they left behind. LOL
I appreciate all the prayers and well-wishes! Hopefully, those of you farther north won't have as much wind to contend with. Still praying for those in Florida whose lives were upended yesterday.
