Hello everyone! Hope everyone that is in the path of this next hurricane stays safe! So happy that our crazy weather is changing. Tomorrow should be the last 80 degree day and then we will drop into the 50's and 60's. Just what I have been waiting for! I notice it is getting darker earlier and I love that too. Yesterday my brother and I went to visit my father who is terminally ill for his birthday. My sister and mom, aunt and uncle, nephews and cousins all dropped by at different times to wish him a happy birthday. What a great day to spend with him and to see everyone coming to visit him. As hard as it is to see him so ill, yesterday warmed my heart and I know it is a memory all of us will cherish. I hope everyone has a great evening.

Morning MMC! Can't believe we're into double digits of October already. Seems to me like this month goes faster than the others. I wish it would slow down. Been a couple long days at work but I'm hoping to leave closer to normal time the next few days. Hope everyone stays safe in the path of the storm. Have a great day!

I hope your father enjoyed his special day. Keeping all of you in my thoughts {{{hugs}}}

Merry Pines Day MMC!
It’s going to be cloudy and warm here today with a high of 77 degrees. Just a typical day of errands and chores. I also have an appointment later this afternoon to have my hair cut and colored, I must get it done before the bridal shower. Dinner will be spaghetti & meatballs, a salad and mozzarella bread. That’s about it for me. Prayers for everyone in the path of Hurricane Michael, be safe!
xx

Good Morning, Folks!

And really, there are not too many mornings, good or otherwise, standing between us and the commencement of Christmas Season 2018.

Here is a quick glance at our count status:
Days to Halloween: 21 (Three weeks from today!)
Days to the Season: 34 (Now under 5 weeks!)
Days to Christmas Day: 76 (Under 11 weeks to go!)
(The clock just keeps ticking.)

Weather-wise, we are keeping an eye on major Hurricane Michael as it closes in on the Florida panhandle and is supposed to track across North Carolina, albeit in a weakened state. Unlike Florence, this one is supposed to be in and out much quicker, so hopefully we will not get the severe flooding we had with Florence.
Our current conditions: Rather overcast but calm with a temperature reading of 70 degrees. We had a light sprinkle earlier.

Can you believe that we are already up to the second 'Pines Day of October?
Carl has completed all of the transformation to a fall theme but will soon be moving into Halloween mode.
And as you might guess, our friendly activities director will really be in rare form this year since Halloween falls on a Wednesday. (I don't think that will be an open house to miss!)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!

Thanks Crown! Hope that Hurricane stays away!

Happy Pines! We are going to have a warm day...high of 80 but they said Sat into Sunday we may have a frost...crazy weather! My daughter's soccer team ended up in a tie yesterday of 0-0 in double OT. It was a good game to watch. She has another game today that they changed from tomorrow due to we are getting the remnants of Michael. Hope you all have a good day and prayers for all in the path of Michael.

You guys always make me so hungry! I hope you're all having a great day. I'm missing the brief taste of fall weather we had. It's now humid and hot for some reason. I needs my 65 degree hoodie weather stat!
I feel your pain! We just had two days of hot humid weather (+80F). Today will be a little cooler and then thunderstorms and 40's tomorrow. I. CAN'T. WAIT.
Coffee, sweaters, and jeans! :)

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

The crazy hurricane is bearing down, doggone it. We just had a safety meeting, and we're planning to close the plant at 4pm, and (obviously) stay closed tomorrow. It's strengthened to a Category 4, which means it'll still be a hurricane when it gets here. Originally, it was going to be downgraded to a tropical storm when if got here. I'm going out at lunch to collect all of the pool inflatables, deck chairs, tables, etc., and put them in the storage building.

Jacob's classes are cancelled, but he's planning to stay at university. Elizabeth's school closes at 1pm today and all day tomorrow.

We've survived the last two hurricanes with electricity intact. I hope that holds true this time! I'll try to post tomorrow. We'll see what happens. Y'all stay safe!

And I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Ready for Friday!!

Loads going on... so close now. Going to be an extra good one this year as I now have a new partner! She's actually from England, like myself, and she is everything I could've wished for.

So, feeling pretty pleased with it all... and listening to my first round of John Renbourn for the year. It's my this-side-of-halloween festive music allowance (you may recall I don't let myself get too xmas-music'y until after i've watch The Nightmare Before Christmas on Halloween)...

Funny how things change, eh?

xx

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!! Not much going on today besides what has become my new normal - old job this morning, new job this afternoon! I think tomorrow will be just the opposite & I'll be at my old job in the afternoon! Boss #1 is off Friday & Monday so I'll be the old job both of those days! Kinda looking forward to that - normalcy!

Today is our last day of heat - could it be for the year?? We'll find out! High of 78º today w/ lots of clouds & a high of 56º tomorrow...what a change!
Woke up this morning to a pink sky! You know the old saying "pink in the morn, sailors take warn!" It was pretty, but a little eerie w/ the hurricane brewing out there. And I hope everyone in the path of Michael stays safe!!! xx

Hubby didn't get home until 1:30 am this morning, but their fields are done!! YAY!

Have a great day MMC!!!
