Praying you have weathered the storm undamaged!! xxGood Morning, Folks.
Well, we are still here in one piece. Plenty of rain and gusty winds all day yesterday but no damage, just small branches and pine cones down.
What happened at the coast remains to be seen. Conditions still aren't good there and people are not being allowed back on the island, yet. Will be checking in with our contact over there once he's up and running. The local area websites indicate most structures are in pretty good shape but some have roof damage. Our place sits behind a large dune and is surrounded by dense vegetation but there are no trees to fall on the place. If the roof was not compromised, we might be OK. Glad the storm weakened and turned west before it arrived on Emerald Isle but what they did experience there was very long term.
Today's count:
Days to the Season: 59
Days to Christmas Day: 101
And just like that, we are at the doorstep of yet another Milestone marker, the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY Window.
The day after that?
We begin a double, double-digit count.
(And excitement fills the air!)
As stated above, yesterday was dominated by rain and wind which is supposed to continue today but things really weren't so bad. Much worse during hurricane Fran back in '96.
Overcast, breezy and very wet here right now but no rain is falling.
The temperature stands at 73 degrees.
Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone!
99 days!!!
