Good Morning, Folks.
Well, we are still here in one piece. Plenty of rain and gusty winds all day yesterday but no damage, just small branches and pine cones down.
What happened at the coast remains to be seen. Conditions still aren't good there and people are not being allowed back on the island, yet. Will be checking in with our contact over there once he's up and running. The local area websites indicate most structures are in pretty good shape but some have roof damage. Our place sits behind a large dune and is surrounded by dense vegetation but there are no trees to fall on the place. If the roof was not compromised, we might be OK. Glad the storm weakened and turned west before it arrived on Emerald Isle but what they did experience there was very long term.

Today's count:
Days to the Season: 59
Days to Christmas Day: 101

And just like that, we are at the doorstep of yet another Milestone marker, the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY Window.
The day after that?
We begin a double, double-digit count.
(And excitement fills the air!)

As stated above, yesterday was dominated by rain and wind which is supposed to continue today but things really weren't so bad. Much worse during hurricane Fran back in '96.
Overcast, breezy and very wet here right now but no rain is falling.
The temperature stands at 73 degrees.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone!
Praying you have weathered the storm undamaged!! xx

99 days!!!

Good Morning, friends!

Merry Saturday!

It's a hot and humid weekend here. By the mid to end of next week, fall temps move back in. Looking forward to it!

I had the day off yesterday-had some appointments, and also met up for lunch with a friend from my hometown who was passing through. It was nice to catch up with her.

Adrian's new job is going well, we are just adjusting to new schedules and routines. Harlowe misses him quite a bit, he's worked from home solely for most of her life. She'll adjust, I know. But still hard to see her sad. I took her for extra walks and car rides yesterday since I was home in the afternoon.

This weekend, we plan to lay low for the most part. Other than a movie and dinner/drinks out later today. We have yard work, housework, and shows to watch on the dvr as well.

Prayers continue for all in the path of Florence!

I have a childhood friend near Raleigh who stayed, and I'm checking in with her a few times per day. So far, she and her family are staying safe.

Wishing you all a blessed weekend~

I hope all of you adjust well to the new schedule! xx Change is hard!!

And I hope your friend stayed safe as well!! xx

AND I hope you enjoyed your weekend!!

Have a good Monday friend!

Good Saturday afternoon everyone!! Hope everyone is safe and is able to enjoy their weekend. I am working on laundry and finishing up my indoor fall/Halloween decorations this weekend. I want to get it all done so I can watch the Buckeyes play tonight and then watch a full day of football tomorrow (and maybe get a much-needed fantasy win as well!) Hope everyone has a great day!
How bout them Buckeyes???
:sway

Thank you Meceka. Sadly my uncle died this afternoon, so thursday the next funaral...
So sorry for your loss!! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts & prayers!

Good evening,

Hope your weekend is going well.
My demons of anxiety and depression have been
giving me a rough go the last few days, I am still healing from the breakdown I had last November. I struggle with panic attacks but this is the first time it has hit me this hard in a long time.
Goodnight, everyone
(((Hugs))) Thoughts & prayers being sent your way! Hope you are feeling better!

Greetings my merry chums; swinging by on this special day with the joyful arrival of our double digits. Thought I'd share my Yule Oral Ability with you to mark this special day.

Yule Oral Ability …
After many years of observations, participation and chat experience, I have concluded that there are a large number of individuals suffering (or not) from the same Yule Oral Ability that I have discovered in myself.

The symptoms include:
~Reading Christmas books, novels, comics, letters, cards, etc. after January 31st and prior to Nov.1st.
~Re-reading those same books (etc.) year after year or month after month.
~Keeping a festive journal of plans, gift & decorating ideas along with recipes.
~Counting down the days until Christmas Day arrives (this includes, for many, a new countdown on Boxing Day).
~Talking about Christmas all year long.
~Thinking about Christmas in your head (dwelling in that Christmas closet afraid to tell those around you what you are thinking).
~Recalling Christmases of the past - brought about by someone else’s words, sounds or the smells you encounter during the day.
~Music - of a Yule nature - plays in your head or emits from your CD, MP3, iPod, turntable, etc. in the “off season”.
~Others see a pine tree - you see a tree transformed into a Christmas display of lights, ornaments, beads, garland, tinsel or cranberry and popcorn strings.
~ You create scrapbooks, pictoral journals, elaborate yard and/or indoor displays.
~You dream of a white Christmas in June and again in December (even if you live in a climate that never receives snow).
~You nod your head knowingly when you hear a child in a school yard yell “ouch!” after freeing his/her tongue from the frosty flagpole, fence or railing.
~You wear Christmas socks or bells that jingle on your shoes - just because.
~You crave eggnog, hot cocoa and wish you had a fire nearby to roast marshmallows or chestnuts (even if they don’t taste good - bleh).
~You start your letter to Santa early to avoid the Christmas rush.
~The Merry jargon you use is not understood by your family, the general public, and co-workers.
~You have difficulty finding the humour in a joke if it isn’t followed by a jolly HoHoHo.
~You make up festive operas and perform at the Shispering Pines Playhouse where you are served by a three-humped camel named Carl that carries eggnog (during the season) or special coffee/tea blends in that middle hump (during the off season).
~You dream of going to the North Pole, meeting Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Elves and Reindeer or helping Santa deliver presents all around the world.

If you have checked off more than five of the above criteria, face it - you are a Christmas Wacko and have Yule Oral Ability. Oh sure, there are those who might call it a Yule Oral Disability, but as long as it’s keeping you jolly all year long, why would you want to look for a cure. So, that’s why this is called Yule Oral Ability rather than Yule Oral Disability.

Feel free to join me in my Yule Oral Ability Support Group - and share your Festive Yulable Moments with us anytime because we get it.

Stay jolly! -reindeer--surprise-:shakeit

Got my dress for the wedding, still looking for the brides. Her maids will be in a light shade of blue, the bride has decided to let them choose whatever style they want as long as the color is the same.

Almost ready for fall fair next weekend. All the entries have to be in by 8pm on Wednesday. LittleCS and I were busy baking yesterday and will finish up on Tuesday.

Heading off the church when breakfast is done.

Good morning MMC! "Merry Monday!" After being off the last 3 Mondays, I keep thinking today is Tuesday. Could be a long week!!!

I was with Mom Friday at 5pm until Saturday at 8am - and then again yesterday from 8:30 am until almost 9am today!! She sure can be a challenge! Bless her heart! We had a few feuds! Yesterday she went down on the floor - she didn't fall, but I had to ease her down...had to call my hubby to come help me pick her up off the floor!! She's a piece of work! Needed a little down time at home this morning b/f coming into work!!

We have 3 busy bodies & 1 supervisor (my hubby) working on our driveway today. Hopefully they can get it poured later this afternoon!! What a mess! My whole kitchen floor/hallway/bathroom has a layer of sand on it! But it's progress!!

Everyone, have a GREAT Monday!!!!

99 days until Christmas!!!! -sing-
I'm sorry your mom is having such a hard time, and that it's trickling down to you and your sisters. I know it's tough, but bless your hearts for taking care of your mom in her time of need!

I hope your driveway comes together quickly!

Good Morning, MMC!! It’s going to be a warm week here but I’m not going to let that ruin my holiday spirit. I’m going to try and get out and add some photos to my stash for when the blossoms thread opens. But first, a haircut for me and doctors appointment for Mom is on the agenda for today. I hope everyone has a great day!!
My Blossoms thread stash is getting deep, too!

Hello All ..
I’ve missed you ;)
It was time to come back !

Hugs xo
Ms Rose -reindeer- This is me trying to catch up !! Lol
Nice to see you again! Welcome back! Don't be a stranger! :)

Happy Milestone day! We had a relaxing night after work. Tomorrow am I am going to take Carolina back to the ER to have her staples removed. I'm sure we will be waiting all day since it isn't an emergency. I am off tomorrow so hopefully I can start changing out summer clothes for fall clothes. Have a great rest of the night
I hope Caroline's appointment goes very well & quicker than you're thinking!!!! xx Thinking of you guys!

Happy Last Week of Summer MMC! I can't believe next weekend the Halloween Season & Autumn begin. Just had a pretty good weekend and hoping for a good week. Work should be less crazy this week but still busy enough. Have a great day!
Can't believe it's the last week of summer. How in the world did that happen???
Have a good day Edge!

Merry Monday!
It’s going to be cloudy today with a high of 77 degrees. Not too much going on here, I’m just watching the news right now and having a cup of coffee. I’m going to throw a load of laundry in soon and tidy up the house before I head out to run a couple of errands. I’m having lunch with my youngest later this afternoon and then we’re going out to look at favors for the bridal shower. I also plan on making chicken soup for dinner, I can’t remember the last time I made a pot. I’ll be adding more soups and stews in to my menu plans now, love this time of the year! I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!
xx
Enjoy lunch & shopping with your daughter!!
I made a big pot of Ham & Veggie soup last week & yesterday I made a big pot of Amish Chicken Corn Soup (new recipes) ~ I love soups!!
This morning Mom woke up & the 1st this she told me is ... "I think I'm going to try to bake chicken pie today!" LOL! She must have been dreaming about it ~ mom hasn't cooked/baked for a couple years!!! Just made me chuckle!
Have a great day!

Happy Monday!
Typical day of work for me and I have to go to the grocery store later.
Hope you all have a great day!!
Hope you have a great day too SFM!!!
