Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good Morning once again, Friends.

Getting mighty close now.
So close to an incredible Milestone.

And that will be discussed immediately after the presentation of today's data figures:
Days to the Season: 53
Days to Christmas Day: 95

And our next marker, the 3/4 point to Christmas Day 2018?
Well, that's now just FOUR days ahead.
Barely over HALF A WEEK left!
(Speeding along now. Really moving!)

Continued warm and humid post-Florence, but things are slowly drying out.
Was able to get up on the roof with a leaf blower to remove the last of the storm debris, which consisted mainly of pine needles and small oak branches.
Today, we are predicted to be in the mid 80's with only a 10 percent chance of rain, and have begun this last day of the work week at 70 degrees here in the capital city.

Happy Friday!! Another week is over and we are officially heading into fall!
We have no real plans for the weekend, my youngest has a softball game on Sunday and I am going to finish decorating for fall (finally) tonight.

We don't really have plans either, other than watching the Buckeyes tomorrow & we talked about girls night at our trailer (at the lake) to watch Book Club! (since it's supposed to be so chilly!!)

Yes.
We did have some damage but less than I anticipated. Some shingles off. Missing siding here and there and some soffit dislodged. Porch screens blown out, of course. Appears no water inside though, which is the biggest plus.
NC Farm Bureau has been notified and an adjuster is to call. Already have someone securing what needs to be, to prevent further damage.
All in all, things went pretty well considering, and it looks like we will survive to be open for another rental season in 2019!

That doesn’t sound too bad Crown in comparison to the what could of have happened. Damage in general is never good, but surviving a hurricane, is a blessing!

Tuesday was a good day. We are back in our house. Our son and his wife came over for dinner. It was our first home cooked meal in our remodeled home. Some items still need to be addressed but the end is in sight.

Thursday I will be joining a group of men from our church on our annual hiking trip into the Great Smoky Mountains national park. We hike 7 miles into the wilderness area of Hazel Creek for 3 days of Bible study, fellowship, and fly fishing. It is always a great time and we should have plenty of trout for dinner then a cigar by a campfire.

It’s surreal isn’t! I love that ad well also. The smell of Autum in the air, a great time to lit up a pumpkin spice or harvest candle inside too!

I’m sorry to hear about your mom being ill with pneumonia SF. That’s definitely nothing to play around with, very serious stuff and that was good that she went to a clinic to get checked out. I will pray for her to heal and that the antibiotics kill the nasties inside her.

Has she had a pneumonia shot?

Merry Friday MMC ~
Not too much going on here today. I’m just working on a menu plan and grocery list. I’m going to take a ride to the butcher in a little while. My oldest and youngest both have off and are coming over later this afternoon. We’re going to do some shopping and I’ll probably order pizza for them when my middle one gets home from school. I’m looking forward to spending time with the three of them. I hope everyone has a nice day and a wonderful weekend ahead!!!

Yesterday as the office manage was showing me around what was in the kitchen/bar area cupboards, she opened up a cupboard full of pumpkins/fall decorations! I told her it was time for those to come out! Then she opened up more cupboards & said the Christmas decorations were in there. I told her that I would break the news to her right away ~ I'm a Christmas nut!! ~ She said "Good, then you can put up the tree!!" That sure doesn't break my heart!!



The tree frogs have been going crazy here lately. Love to listen to them!!!

So happy Harlowes appointment went well!!!!!



Wow cannot believe it has come so fast! I'm excited for the new halloween shows on food network, they always have some amazing pumpkin carvers! Enjoy your hike , we are still wet and muggy here waiting for the trails to dry up but as soon as they do we will be out there too!


Today I went to the Doctors and had a good check up, all that running is doing me good I guess! Hubby has to stay late at work today for a meeting so I picked up some fall mums to plant in the front yard and I'm going to do some yard work until he gets home. This weekend we are going over to the in laws house to work on a fall project, a big snoopy and the gang with pumpkin signs for the front yard . It is still in the mid 90's this week and will be next week too but I looked ahead in the weather forecast and they're calling for upper 80's soon...

We are taking our daughter to see Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker tonight as an early birthday present. Managed to pick up a couple more small Christmas gifts for the kids. Good Tuesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

I'm getting here later than usual today. Meetings, meetings, and more meetings. Then the boss invited me to lunch...can't turn that down!

Monday I was bragging about my brother and me clearing some areas near out hunting spot on Sunday. There were some very close trees, and it took some careful driving to keep from hitting them. It turns out, I "rubbed" my truck against a tree and didn't know it. Grrr. It caused some bends that will be difficult to repair without taking it to a shop. So, I'm stuck with a bent truck, doggone it. It's not too obvious, but I know it's there.

That's what I get for playing in a truck.

Awww man, that really stinks; been there, done that. It’s like “oh yea, I’m up for the adventure/ challenge!” But sometimes, you end up shaking your head, thinking why did I do that? We know the answer to that, it’s because it was fun!!!!

Thanks friend. All I can really do is laugh about it to myself. Get this, I ended up making 4 trips in 2 days back and forth to DMV, but, I finally got my new tags and registration card! Yea!!!!!
