Good Tuesday morning! The weather forecast is annoying to say the least. It's currently -12°C/10°F with the windchill factor and it will remain cold tomorrow, then Wednesday it should be above freezing, then back to cold for a few days, then above freezing again until December 18th. I know you can't trust long-range forecast, but above/near freezing temps at this time of year = more chance of freezing rain and I find that annoying.

I have the day off and for now I'm just relaxing, trying to fully wake up. Other than the usual errands and chores, I have to do more baking and shop for gifts, because I'm really late on both fronts. I'll also get in my "one Christmas movie/special per day". Last night I was exhausted after supper so we kept it short by watching Shrek the Halls.

Morning MMC! Monday was hectic but expected at work. Now on to Tuesday which will be busy also. Right up till our Christmas party at work next Thursday we're pretty much nonstop busy. Other than that, trying to enjoy a few Christmas shows each evening to relax to. The joys of coming home from work during the month of December. Have a great Tuesday!

Evening everyone, I’ve been wanting to post, but, it just seems like every time I wanted to stop by here lately, I’ve just had too many other things on my mind and so, I just have been keeping to myself, thinking.

My daughter called me last week, she informed me that her grandmother, my ex mother-in-law, was not doing well. She went into the hospital for one thing, and while she was there, they found a tumor on her pancreas; cancer. She’s 68. They apparently started her on chemo and she has had every side effect that there can be From doing so, and she has only taken 2 out of 10 treatments. My daughter was crying on the phone, it got me all upset and it Just tore me up on the inside hearing her get like that and from what she was telling me. It’s been on my mind ever since. She is a wonderful person. She always treated me nicely, with kindness and thoughtfulness. She was, my family, for over 23 years, and I miss her still.

Then out of the blue, for the first time in years, my ex-wife started texting me about her mom. And then, updating me that since she’s been so sick, they are going to stop the chemo and just operate on her in about a week to remove the tumor. I’m praying for her.

So, the only right thing and moral thing for me to do, is to let my wife know all of this and of course, she understands, and her heart goes out to my ex mother-in-law and my kids, but she has also concerns now of my ex wife texting me. And to tell you all the truth, it’s bothering me some too, in a slight way.

Then, on top of this, I found out, that my sons Air National Guard unit have received orders, that they are deploying to Afghanistan right after Christmas. Just Nice...... if I don’t have enough to worry about.

All of this in a matter of just a few days.

I’ve been trying to get my butt in gear, and get started on getting the Christmas decorations and the tree out. I’m hoping maybe tomorrow.

I’d like to humbly ask if prayers could be given for both my son and my ex mother-in-law. Thank you.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I finally decorated my Christmas tree yesterday. So far the puppy is staying away!

Not too much going on here, it will be a typical day of errands and chores. I also have plans to go shopping with my oldest when she gets off from work, she’s going to pick out gifts for her bridal party today. I think I’ll make taco soup in the crock pot so I don’t have to worry about dinner later tonight. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

There you go! Let me know how it goes, if you get her one. Nittany is scared to death of any loud noises, so I thought it would be great for thunder and fireworks. It helps with the storms, but not the fireworks for her. I read somewhere, it's because with the thunder and lighting, they can feel the current or something to that affect, that's why I it helps them. Hoping it helps Lulu if you decide to get her one!

I have never heard of a "thunder vest" before, but when I googled it I realized that when O'Malley the cat is upset or is ready for an uninterrupted sleep, he will curl himself up into his very first cat bed (really doesn't fit, but thinks he does) with perhaps onefront paw under his chin and one back leg sticking out. If his back and tail are against the rounded rim, he feels less vulnerable or so I believe. Good invention that makes sense because people often use weighted vests to help children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and ADHD.

We do love it! Any time it storms or there is fireworks, we try to be home with her, but can't always be, so it works great for her. I'm sure I'll have to purchase one for Sidney to eventually. All of my dogs have been scared.

Merry Tuesday!
It’s going to be sunny today with a high of 40 degrees. Just a typical day of errands and chores. My youngest is coming over to visit as well, we’re going to grab Chipotle for lunch and do some online shopping. I’m hoping she can help me pick out some Christmas gifts for a couple of people. Merry Monday ...

4 day work week for me; I have Friday off as a random vacation day; going to finish my Christmas shopping.

We have our work holiday potluck on Wednesday; there's always plenty of dishes I can eat and although I don't eat sweets, I'm bringing festive butter cookies 'cause I want others to enjoy what I'm missing.

I have been so busy the last two weekends, accomplished a lot, but didn't spend much time with my husband or the cat as I was working on my cards, printing photo magnets, running errands, etc. My husband seems to be a little less "Bah" about the holidays this year, I think he realizes by now that this is an important time of year for me and that he might as well try and enjoy it with me. He commented that he admired how organized I was with my cards 'cause I printed two lists, 1 to check off the completed recipients and the other to cut and use as a mailing label. Funny thing is that I didn't have any label paper handy so I wound up using SCOTCH tape to secure them and I'm hoping some of the people who receive them will give them a whiff 'cause it smells like Christmas trees.

Speaking of Scotch tape ... I had to pick up another 3-pack and there was a huge bin full and I gave two different ones a big whiff and then waited and listened 'cause once a few years back, I heard a voice over the intercom say, "Security, scan aisle 12" and I was in aisle 12. HaHaHoHo

Imagine if I had gotten banned from Walmart for being a merry wacko?

Good morning MMC! It sure is Monday!!! Can't say it's been a great one so far. Lots going on - we had our 1st family (hubby's side) Christmas yesterday & that was hard. We have very close friends going through a lot of things we found out about last night. Then Care Flight flew directly over our house this morning & it was SO CLOSE I thought it was going to hit our house. It was rattling & shaking our windows. UGH! Hate that! Jim had just left 30 minutes before that, so I was glad to hear from him. Just a lot going on - it's been kind of a teary eyed morning!

Thank goodness for Christmas things/movies/music & especially people to make me happy!


Sorry, didn't mean to be a downer today!! It will get better as the day goes on!!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

Boy, has it ever rained! Some reports are between 7" and 10" in a couple days. the river and pond are out of the banks, yards are flooded, and all of the schools in our area are closed. Whew!

Yesterday, we went to hear the kids singing in the choirs, and they were both awesome, of course.

I see a little blue sky above. I hope it stays!

And I hope y'all have a great day!

A friend solved this problem by posting the elf's daily location on FB.

My sister said to me last night, right in front of my daughter, who I think is having a little trouble believing, "I really need to get Kennedy an elf." DD looked at her and said, "What do you mean, get her one? I thought he came from the North Pole every year and was sent here by Santa." My sister just responded, "Oh yes! Well I need to write to him and make sure he sends an elf." By this time, DD kept questioning things. Hopefully she still believes!

Merry Monday! Carolina and I did our gingerbread house tonight. It came out a lot better than the one we did last year. Tonight I am reading the Christmas Cookie Club. I started it last night and like it a lot so far. Sending prayers for everyone

I purchased ours last night. I'll have to find a night we're all off together to do so.

I have those books on my iPad to read. I'm glad you're liking it so far. Let me know what your final thoughts are!
