I am asking for prayer again tonight. My aunt took my cousin back to the emergency room as he is still not feeling well. It seems he may be having some sort of reaction to his antibiotic and dehydration since he hasn't drank enough water.
Also my uncle took himself to the ER this morning do to pain in his side and he is currently undergoing an emergency appendectomy.
Thank you for the prayers

Prayers said for both.

Merry Christmas MMC. My two days did not go as planned. My brother got very sick the day before Christmas Eve and so we had to cancel our annual Christmas Eve shopping and lunch trip, which is the first time in 25 or so years. I was pretty bummed about that. And then both of his kids were sick so we could not go over to where they live on Christmas Eve night as we normally do to watch them open our presents. I just sent the gifts and food over with my husband to drop off. So my Christmas Eve was definitely different, but I did spend the evening opening presents with my husband and our five curious felines, and we had a great time. We are currently visiting my parents and were able to see a friend and my sister and her kids and will see my aunt and uncle tomorrow. So, although it was different, I still am grateful for my Christmas with family and friends as well as being grateful that I can share it all with you. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Christmas Eve/day!

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner with my dad, his wife, and her mother
(she is 98!)
They got to visit with Nathan for awhile. My dad, who also served in the Army, was really happy to get to talk to Nathan.

It was a wonderful way to end Christmas Day.

Now is the hard part... realizing that when I wake up in the morning, Christmas is over. :(

Wow.

I'm wore out. I'm mean I'm exhausted. What a fast two days! Not only was it fast, it was so dang fun. Yall, this very well could have been my favorite Christmas, yet. The girls had a great time, we were reasonably prepared, and things just went smoothly.

This afternoon, we went to Mom's and cooked steaks. It was a good time. Our 3 year old got a toy phone for Christmas and was playing on it. The phone rang and she answered it and said, "Dad, it's Paw. He's not talking. He said he's sleeping." I don't know what some of you believe, but I do believe in little miracles that let you know that all is ok with the world. This Christmas, while missing one of our own, was lived in the moment. Not having Dad here...helped me in a way.

Never take a day for granted. I found myself enjoying yesterday and today more than any year, yet. I think I enjoyed this season more than any year, also.

Blessed to have a great family....both at my house and on this site. Yall have a good couple of days. I'm going to be gone doing a few things, but I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

So sad to wake up to Christmas being over but we will have Christmas again when we go to see Mike's grandparents in a couple weeks. That extends the season a little bit for us.
My mom spoke with my aunt around 130 this am. My cousin technically didnt have a stroke. He had fluid around his heart caused by a viral infection which was sending blood clots to his brain. The blinding headache he has had the past couple days was the warning sign. Today they are bringing in a physical therapist and an occupational therapist to determine what kind of brain damage if any. We are so thankful for all your prayers

I can relate.
I dropped off a gift for two of my parents neighbours. My mom always had a big heart and a soft spot for children, especially at Christmas and would become like an aunt to many of them. These neighbours were like family to her. We chatted about how different it would be without her and I shared the "Hallmark movie" feeling I had watching them visiting with her last Christmas Eve. It was so touching. Dana was the 4th person to learn of my mothers passing so I thought it was going to be more difficult to talk about her; she couldn't even look at me when she came to see what all the fuss was about as 911 had to be called. It went well and she seems to be in a good place.

My brother, dad, and two guests were chatting about last Christmas with mom and how pleased we were with her celebration of life because everyone had so much fun remembering her wacky ways.
I heard some odd knocking sounds on Christmas Eve while waiting for the taxi outside my dads and then again shortly after I arrived home. I finally said, "Come in!" and a streak of light passed by. Not sure what that was all about, but I felt like perhaps it was mom paying me a visit. Logic indicated ice on the rooftops were cracking and the streak was a reflection, but you never know.

I am so happy that you had a nice Christmas; keep a merry thought in your head.

It's Boxing Day, not sure I'm taking part in any deals, but I need new winter boots and our microwave needs to be replaced so hoping the prices are down a bit lower than before Christmas. I'll get them anyway 'cause there is a crack in the sole of one boot and the other one has a tear on the toe so I didn't stay warm for long when I was helping my dad with the annual luminaries along the street.

By the way, he said he was passing that task onto another neighbour, but once again took charge to get it done the same way it has been accomplished for over 20 years - 3 giant steps between each candle. He didn't light the luminaries up his walk because he was hoping he wouldn't get as many pop-alongs as he wanted the evening to be a bit more private than previous years.

Although mom and other faces weren't present and my husband wasn't well enough to join us; it was one of my best Christmas Eve visits in a very long time.

Stopping by my dads to pick up some food that he never got to serve; he can't eat, he's on a feeding tube (healthy otherwise; result of his cancer treatments from 15 years ago) so he just buys enough for company. My brother and his friend had to leave early yesterday and he still has bread, fruit, etc. that he doesn't want to go to waste.

We're calling the boys and grandchildren today around dinner time because they will all be under one roof preparing for their big Christmas Feast. I wanted to hop in the car and go to Ottawa, but I don't want to leave my husband behind so I'll save that trip for another time.

O'Malley the cat had fun playing with a box, gift bag, a toy sheep and searching out a few turkey treats yesterday so I did a repeat this morning.

Have a great day - I'm on vacation so I'll likely be back on later.

Stay jolly :snowball+c

Morning MMC! Only 364 shopping days left till Christmas! But as Coach said never take a day for granted. I found myself also living more in the moment this year especially during the holidays. I didn't really worry about it ending. I just enjoyed it happening. And I think that's the way we need to try to do it all year. Never rush for it to come again. Part of what it makes it so awesome is the wait to get here and the journey. All the great things ahead of us that we look forward to that will only make Christmas 2019 more special when it arrives. Have a great Boxing Day!

Good morning MMC ~
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. We ended up cooking and bringing everything over to my parents house yesterday since my father wasn’t feeling well. It would have been too much for him to come to me. There was no way I was going to leave my parents alone on Christmas. So it was a bit of extra work but well worth it, we had a beautiful day. I’m pretty tired today so I’m going to take it easy, I just have to catch up with the laundry. I am going to try and rest up as much as I can now before my daughters wedding, it’s just nine days away. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!
xx

Happy Boxing Day all. The in-laws were over yesterday for some Christmas cheer and there was enough food to probably feed us three times over. So, leftovers for a little while. :)

I may head out before work to see if there are any discounted cards and ornaments to get for next year, but I'm not crazy enough to face the crowds shopping for their post Christmas sales.

Called the relatives across the country to wish them all a happy Christmas and discovered that my half sister is engaged. The wedding is planned for 2020, so something to look forward to.

Take care everyone.

I hope your Dad improves enough to attend the wedding. Prayers go out for him. Have a happy and restful day or two.

Good morning MMC....we had a great Christmas! It was fun being with friends and family. Today will be a laid back day and just relaxing. Unfortunately, I think my husband woke up with what my daughter had last week...really congested cold and feeling a bit achey so he actually went back to lay down. Hope you all have a great day!

I hope everyone had a really great Christmas yesterday.
And don't forget, Christmas Season 2018 continues on to New Year's day, at which point this thread will lock and "Christmas Countdown - 2019" will commence!
