Christmas Countdown - 2018

Hello all!

School was cancelled today. The whole area is closed, we got ice and snow last night. The temperatures are climbing today and we will hit 50 on Thursday. However, that will only last a day as a cold front comes back on Friday. Roller Coaster weather time!

All of our inside Christmas decorations are down and put away now. The outside stuff is still up due to the snow everywhere.

Today will be continue to be relaxing since I got all of my school prep stuff done yesterday.

Good Monday afternoon, Christmas friends!

All this talk of putting away decorations. Mine is still on full display, inside & out!

I did help take down the city decorations, and put them away for next year on Saturday. Then I had a great afternoon bird hunting...and didn't bag a single bird LOL. After that, I went to an oyster roast. Saturday was awesome!

We still have a little snow on the ground from last week...in south Georgia! I hope y'all have a great day! :D
 
Good Morning MMC !

Shool buses cancelled , roads a mess, lots of wet snow coming down.
I got stuck briefly a few times but got Layla to where she had to be and got home again.
So here I plan to stay the rest of the day. Tonight’s meeting is cancelled.

Going to make scalloped potatoes and bake a ham to go with it for supper.

At least it has warmed up ! We are now out of the negatives ! It is only 0’c ( 32f) that’s downright warm !

After reading Jeff's editorial about ending Christmas early, I am thinking i will be keeping them up longer than usual.

Everything got boxed up, yesterday, but the tree is still up, and will remain so until I have time to remove all the ornaments. The project will start Friday over my four day b - day weekend.

Update: My dentist sent me right to the endodontist, who went ahead and did the pulpotomy. She couldn't get it 100% numb because the nerve was so inflamed, but it was tolerable (just achy). Unfortunately, the achiness and tenderness will hang on for a few days while it heals. I was needed at work this afternoon, so here I am. I took three Advil per instructions, but it still hurts. Oh, well, I'll live! Would have been worse pain than that if I had waited.

My decorations are out in full force too. I think we may take them down this weekend.

Oh no! Happy the endo could get you in today. Hope the pain goes away quickly!

Yeah I should get to taking down our Christmas decorations too. We usually do it on the first weekend I have off in January but that will only be on the 20th and I don't know if I want to leave the tree up until then. Replacing it with a different décor is a great idea though. Enjoy your day HMG.

We totally scored big time, we were finding sales of 75-80% off of ornaments for the tree, decorations for the house, the wife found a bunch of ribbon that I must say was really nice looking. We were having a good time. We also picked up a bunch of things from yankee candle that were 75% off.

Well, back to the working world tomorrow, it will be the first week that I will work a full week in three weeks; lol... so you know darn well this week is going to just drag on and on and on!!!!

I have come down with something last night, I have been feverish and feeling just blah. I called out this morning, hoping to go back tomorrow but still not feeling well.
My decorations are still going strong, I usually shut off my outdoor display on January 8 for the season, but I am going to keep them up a little longer since I didn't even set them up until almost mid-December. My trees are up and on, and I am still listening to Christmas music.
I am not ready to end the Christmas season just yet.
I hope you all had a great day

Well, this morning I took down my decorations. Most everything is boxed up now. All that remains are two strands of these bigger colored LED style lights on each of my windows. Which, now that I have them up without any other Christmas stuff around, they actually look okay on their own and don't look too obviously Christmassy. Versus having the standard small colored lights you normally see. So I think I'll be leaving them up, at least on a week by week basis.

It's crazy to think that Christmas Day was exactly two weeks ago. We're really not all that far off from it just having been the season!

It's been nice to see on my drives all week, including today, that a lot of homes in my area still have their decorations up. It's definitely a good sign when you stop counting, simply because there's just that many homes with decorations up. Although I imagine as the week goes on that number will drastically decrease.

Anyways, Happy Monday everyone!
 
Morning MMC! It's warming up today after a little more snow and freezing rain yesterday. It's going to feel good being at normal or even above normal now the rest of the week. We deserve a break. Worked an hour and a half of OT Monday so got home later than normal. Very busy week at work but always is in January. Have a great 2nd day of the week!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!
It’s going to be sunny and warmer today with highs near 40 degrees. It was chilly out last night and we ended up getting some freezing rain, it was so icy out there. I’d rather have a foot of snow than deal with the ice!
I was up pretty early today, I straightened up the house and have laundry going. Just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes before I get started on breakfast. Today I plan on cleaning and decluttering my bedroom walk in closet. Other than that I will be working on my regular daily chores. Dinner will be tacos and Mexican rice. That’s about it for me.
I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!
