Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good Morning, Fellow Citizens of the great MMC Nation.

Today, a special presentation of today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 308
Days to Christmas Day: 350

What's special about that, you might ask?
Well, now. Every daily count is special, right?

But as a further, special treat, know that as of tomorow we will be down to just ONE WEEK to our first Milestone marker of the new year, the 300-day Season point.
Then, the very next day, we commence a 200's level Season count.
(And you thought it was too early to start getting a little excited, didn't you?)


Relief at last here, weather-wise. After 201 consecutive hours of below freezing temperatures, we finally rose all the way up into the mid 40's yesterday afternoon. But that's only the beginning. Today will see the 50's and Thursday will wow us with temperatures in the 60's.
(Wow, indeed!)
This morning has started off still cool, at 33 degrees here in the capital city.

Update: My dentist sent me right to the endodontist, who went ahead and did the pulpotomy. She couldn't get it 100% numb because the nerve was so inflamed, but it was tolerable (just achy). Unfortunately, the achiness and tenderness will hang on for a few days while it heals. I was needed at work this afternoon, so here I am. I took three Advil per instructions, but it still hurts. Oh, well, I'll live! Would have been worse pain than that if I had waited.

Teeth can be one of the worse things to have wrong. Cant sleep,eat,drink or even have a civil discussion with someone at times. I had one go looney once and got all abscessed almost overnight once. They found me a Navy dentist but the Novacaine wouldnt work due to the abscess. He gave me so many shots my shoulders were numb..lol. I honestly forced the doc to pull the tooth as/is. Really anything was better than that toothache. It was just a deal if I waited for antibiotics to work for 4 days, I never would have run across a dentist again when we were in Iraq.

We had a little snow last night and now we are thawing out. I am looking forward to warmer temps...those frigid temps are brutal.
We are having tacos tonight for dinner...it will be quick and easy since my youngest daughter has basketball practice.

Good evening,
I have come down with something last night, I have been feverish and feeling just blah. I called out this morning, hoping to go back tomorrow but still not feeling well.
My decorations are still going strong, I usually shut off my outdoor display on January 8 for the season, but I am going to keep them up a little longer since I didn't even set them up until almost mid-December. My trees are up and on, and I am still listening to Christmas music.
I am not ready to end the Christmas season just yet.

Oh no...hope you are feeling better! There are so many viruses and flu going around.
I still have all my Christmas stuff going as well. I think I will take it down this weekend.

Good morning All!
Like many of you, we de-Christmased the inside of our house this weekend, its always a bummer. The house always looks so plain and cold when they are put away. Thankfully the outside decorations are pretty well frozen in place, so at least I have that! Also, Santa brought me a new scroll saw for Christmas...so working on handmade Christmas ornaments/decorations throughout the year seems like a good way to keep the year rolling along with Christmas spirit! Hope all is well with all you elves.

Yeowch --- hurts just reading about that experience!

I've had a lot of dental trouble (mainly due to underdeveloped enamel, which led to decays, crowns, root canals, implants, etc.), but even though yesterday was a fire drill, everything worked in my favor. I was able to get in to my dentist early, and she was able to confirm the problem and got me an appointment with a great endodontist within the hour. It hurt quite a bit for a couple hours after the root canal, but this morning it's really on the mend. She also had trouble numbing me up yesterday because the nerve was so inflamed, but I got through it with just a sensation of dull achiness --- and that was after numbing the tooth both inside and out. Today, though, what a pleasure to eat and drink without a "zap"!

My oldest daughter went to the dentist yesterday to get a final opinion on braces for her teeth. Yep, she needs them and they gave me a $$ quote. My wallet screamed from my back pocket. Ugh.

I'm still so busy, I don't know if I'm coming or going. We're increasing our delivery lead times, and our customers are not happy about it. Still, it's a good problem to have; better than the alternative. But I miss my time here!

It is mild out today and we are busy moving snow from here to there building a few mountains beside the roads and parking lots.

I got a scam call from someone claiming to be from revenue Canada. They said if I did not call back right away i had better get a lawyer or I would be in big trouble. So I called the police and now they are in really big trouble ! Revenue Canada will not call people and do that. This scam has been kicking around for a couple of years now.

Well, back to work getting things cleaned up around here...wait, I see a book thats needs to be read.....

I got a scam call from someone claiming to be from revenue Canada. They said if I did not call back right away i had better get a lawyer or I would be in big trouble. So I called the police and now they are in really big trouble ! Revenue Canada will not call people and do that. This scam has been kicking around for a couple of years now.

Well, back to work getting things cleaned up around here...wait, I see a book thats needs to be read.....

So you have those scams in Canada, too, eh? Good for you, reporting the scammer.

We got a couple of similar calls from "the IRS" demanding that we call them at a particular number or they would send the police to arrest us. We reported the number on the IRS website; they have a page where you can report scam calls.

Yes I can see why some people would be very intimidated by that. Can be scary if you don’t know that it’s not legitimate.

Made it through the first full, regular (non-exam) day of school since before Christmas. Now I am ready for bed.

The quarter ends this Friday so it is crunch time for a few students who are have been sick or fell behind for this reason or that.

Should have a regular rest of the week.
Potentially big storm coming in Friday and Friday night. The track and amounts are unsure currently, but could be a lot of ice or about 5 inches of snow. I am of course hoping for the snow.

Merry Tuesday!

Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 40s. Tonight it is still very cold and damp out. I had to stand on the back porch to use my cell phone and I was freezing! The kittens were playing at my feet and were having a grand time until I moved my foot and then they scrambled for cover. They are still very shy of me. Their mom was there with them and led them all back to the cat "mansion" where they will be nice and warm for the night.

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!
It’s going to be sunny and warmer today with highs near 40 degrees. It was chilly out last night and we ended up getting some freezing rain, it was so icy out there. I’d rather have a foot of snow than deal with the ice!
I was up pretty early today, I straightened up the house and have laundry going. Just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes before I get started on breakfast. Today I plan on cleaning and decluttering my bedroom walk in closet. Other than that I will be working on my regular daily chores. Dinner will be tacos and Mexican rice. That’s about it for me.

As the temperatures are warming up here, we should get rain Thursday and then temperatures will drop again, so I am anticipating an ice rink out there. Stay safe and steady HMG.

Yup, got that call on our answering machine a couple of times already. It's laughable but I know they get people with these scams and it disgusts me. Hope you enjoyed your day Christmasstar.
