Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning MMC ~
Merry Friday!
I’m just having my coffee and playing with this crazy puppy. Not too much going on here today, I think I’m going to sneak out of here to do some food shopping. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be chicken cacciatore & pasta. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!

Good morning all, and happy Friday! Still delighted by the persistence of Christmas lights this year. Several houses in my neighborhood remain adorned, their owners stubbornly refusing to bow to the end of the Christmas season. Also, my drive home from work takes me through a residential area, and I’m happy to report on evenings when I drive home late and dark has settled in, several home owners near my office feel the same!!!

Enjoying it while it lasts!!!

It's great to see people with lights till on. There are 2 houses on our street still lit. Love it. Have a great weekend!

Good Morning, People Who Really Count!

And all of you count as outstanding citizens of MMC Land.

So let's count, without further delay:
Days to the Season: 298
Days to Christmas Day: 340

Now, with the 300-day Season Window opened and behind us, thoughts naturally turn toward the indentity and proximity of our next Milestone marker.
Well (and I'm warning you, you just might not believe this) the next marker is set to arrive on February 12, just 24 days from today, and it's the ONE-QUARTER point to Christmas Season 2018!
(See. I told you that you would not believe me. But check out the chart. You'll believe that, won't you?)


Our high yesterday was only 36 so the majority of the snow is still with us. Lots of black ice resulted in over 2,000 accident reports to the highway patrol.
We are again well below freezing this morning, at 26 degrees so driving will be treacherous until we get some sun and warmth onto those roads.


But seeing as how it is Friday and Weekend Eve once again, we can no doubt find a way to make it Fabulous and Wondrous, right?
(Yep. I have every confidence in you wonderful people!)

Happy Friday. We finally get a chance at some snow this year...big storm rolling in tonight. You know it's a dry year in these parts when they call a four inch forecast a "big storm".

We don't have too many plans this weekend.
We have a basketball game on Sunday so it should be a quiet weekend.
Looks like we are warming up in temps..which is always a good thing!

Good morning MMC! TGIF!!! I did not want to get up this morning, but just watch - tomorrow morning I won't be able to sleep!

I'm going for lunch today w/ 4 of my siblings, 2 aunts & 2 uncles & 2 cousins. Should be fun! After they are going to visit Mom. She will like that!

Not much up for the weekend. Hubby is still not feeling well. He was better for awhile yesterday but then went the other direction again. Hopefully after today he'll be good to go! xx

I started watching Christmas Inheritance on Netflix last night. It's really good but I couldn't keep my peepers open for the whole thing. (I started it too late!)

Well it’s going to be a warmer but dreary and rainy weekend here. I don’t really have anything to do though so that’s fine with me. I have a few errands to run today. It’s been 6 months so of course my phone charger has decided to stop working again. I might run to the farm store too. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Apple cinnamon rolls sound amazing!!! I might have to go pick up some yeast.

I make mine just like regular cinnamon rolls but I spread finely chopped granny smith apples over the cinnamon sugar spread before rolling them up.

Rocky is dying to play with the cats. And the cats are curious, they love to watch him. But I’m taking it slow because I don’t want one of them to take a swipe at him. Hopefully they’ll all be getting along soon!

I had to run a quick errand last night and noticed several houses are still lit up here as well. Plus I saw two houses with Christmas trees in their windows. It made me smile.

HMG - hope you can shake that cough soon! xx Have you ever tried taking Resp-Eleven? It's made by NeoLife. I take 2 every morning (when I remember...) - supposed to help with respiratory - great for people prone to bronchitis or pneumonia.

I’ve never taken that, I’m going to Rite Aid later so I’ll see if they have it. Thank you!

Well, still no school here! They've been out all week since they were off for the holiday on Monday. That feels like a year ago! Part of our county is in the mountains, so the sunshine doesn't get to the shaded back roads & they are still icy in places. It's supposed to warm up this weekend & rain on Monday. School should be back in session then; fingers crossed! They either have one or two days left to use for "inclimate weather" before they will either use the two teacher inservice days they have left or eat into their spring break. I don't mind a snow day here and there over January & February, but a week off at a time is rough. DD's brain has probably forgotten everything she has learned in school this year over the past week!

@made582, I love going to the local farm store! The one in the town over was one of my stops yesterday. There was a run on black oil sunflower seeds so I had to go to Wal-Mart, too, as my birds expect their kettles of seed every morning. I wasn't happy with what I had to get, but the birds are happy, so that is all that matters. Have a merry weekend!

There has been a lot of melting of snow today. Nice! The kittens are having trouble with the snow packing in their paw pads, so I would rather it would all melt. It is only January, so I'm sure more will be on the way.

I took today off from work to run some errands and get some extra things done around the place here. I'm hoping to head back down to PA, so I can get the rest of my stuff from out of my old townhouse down there. I've been trying to get back down there for weeks now, but it seems like every weekend, someone is not feeling well, had to work over that weekend or its the weather that is holding us up.

The wife made a big pot of beef stew last night and I am just itching to get into it with that loaf of French bread I see sitting on the table!!!!
