Hello all,

Winter simply does not want to let Ohio go. We have had brief warm-ups but then followed by snow. No major snows, just the big fluffy stuff that looks nice but causes no troubles. We are expecting some snow showers tonight actually.

Today is a relaxing day. My wife is off with her mom and some friends on a shopping trip. I did the laundry and finished lesson planning already.

My wife was off this past week and decided to repaint the kitchen including the cabinets and drawers. She certainly deserves to go have some fun today.

Things are slowing down a bit for me. Only 7 weeks of school left. However, we also have to plan a graduation party and all that goes with that. It is hard to believe that my oldest is graduating this year. Then off to the Army the end of July. Time flies!!!

Well, everyone have a great Sunday!

I think many people are just so done with winter this year. It’s been a long one that’s for sure!

Your oldest is heading into the Army? Thank them for all of us for what they are about to do. That is a treamendous step that they are about to take, God Bless them and their courage and sacrifice for what they are about to do.

My oldest child is in the Maryland Air National Guard full time and I am a Navy Veteran myself.

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s a nice sunny day, but that wind is sharp and cold! The kitties are both taking a nap, one on the futon and the other on my chest at the moment; I love having snuggle kitties! My wife is spending most of today today with her mom. They are going to go see a play and do some shopping and things. Me, I stayed home, took a nap, then got up and washed the kitchen floor and trash can, did the dishes, took out the trash, laundry. Then I cooked some chicken breasts, shredded them, and have made barbecue shredded chicken for tonight for us and I made a container for Jill’s parents also.

For the rest of the night, I’m going to slowly wind things down as the evening ticks by, so as to get ready for the start of another work week. Ha-ha, Shiloh is sleeping on my chest and she’s asleep, dreaming because she’s twitching her legs; so cute!

Yes, my oldest is already signed up and sworn-in. He is following in a long tradition of military service on my side of the family. I was in Army right after 9/11, my dad was in the Army and served in Vietnam, my grandfather was in the Navy and served in WWII, and the list goes on and on. :)

Even if the tradition, I made it clear that there was no pressure to join, but he wanted to. His leaves for Basic on 31 July. Then AIT for small arms and artillery repair, then Jump School, then Ranger School.

Thanks for your and your oldest's service!

Thank you for all of yours and your family's continued service. God Bless all of you.

Yes!!! The wife likes my pulled chicken barbecue. I've been playing around more and more in the kitchen, trying to learn to cook by just doing it. I go to my grandmothers recipe book for help and ideas and if that doesn't work, I go on-line.

This morning for breakfast, I made this dish that my grandfather used to make for breakfast, when I was a kid and all thru my years. I would watch him cook this at the kitchen stove, when I was little, while standing on my little step stool so I could see him better. He'd tell me stories and I would listen and watch him with all the wonder in the world.

You cook some hamburgers in a pan with salt and pepper and a little bit of butter or oil. Keep the burgers in the pan and do not drain the pan. When the burgers are almost done, then throw in a largely chopped onion, let them get soft and full of the juices of the cooked burgers. Then put some water and beef broth in the pan then add a can of hominy. Let simmer for a bit, season to taste, then grab a soup bowl and dig in.

You want to talk about a warm/ good/ hardy and tasty breakfast, that will stick to your belly for hours, that's it. Wash it down with a hot cup of coffee, he used to call that a cowboy breakfast!

Morning MMC. I hope you all had a good weekend. I did but I am starting to feel like it's time for some longer weekends. Fortunately next Monday I am taking off so I will have a 3 day weekend with many of those to come later this spring and through the summer. Anyway, I hope you are all at your best this Monday and have a great day!

Good Morning, People of Distinction!
Indeed.
We have the singular distinction of being the carriers of the Christmas torch year round.
While most of the general public snuffs out everything Christmas until November, we keep the flame shining here year round.
A distinction to be proud of!

Our daily numbers:
Days to the Season: 218
Days to Christmas Day: 260

We are now down to UNDER 2 1/2 weeks to go to reach the ONE-THIRD Christmas Day Milestone and just barely over 2 1/2 weeks away from the 200-DAY Season window.
And the day after that, we begin the Season count with a "1".
(WOW!)

It continued chilly yesterday, but it was calm, sunny and dry. And with our azaleas in full bloom, it was really quite nice because the cooler temps kept the polllen fall at bay.
Our current thermometer reading is 44 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!

Thanks Crown! Another Week closer to the Christmas Season!

Happy Monday!! I had a quiet weekend but it went by way too quickly. This is my last week and then we off to FL next Monday for the week. We are going to see my FIL and his wife in Fort Lauderdale. I am looking forward to a relaxing week. I am going to start packing tonight. Hope you all have a great day!

Merry Monday!
It’s going to be cloudy today with a high of 42, we’re currently at 31 degrees. I’m heading out in a little bit to make a Target run. I need to stop at the post office as well. Back home afterward to work on daily chores. Dinner will be Italian Wedding Soup & homemade pizza. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!
xx

Good Monday morning! The sun is out but temperatures are still below freezing point. Maybe Spring will come one day. I just had an extremely busy weekend at work and I'm just glad it's over. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift today, so I have a bit of time to relax this morning. I finished filing our income tax forms online and both David and I are getting a tax refund. I'm finishing my brother's right now. It's nice to know some extra money will be coming in. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Sounds pretty good to me!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a wet Saturday, and I didn't do a thing all day. Sunday was freezing, and it was my Sunday to be the security guy outside, of course. I almost froze to death in that wind. Slacks don't help much in wind LOL.

I watched the Power Rangers movie yesterday...it was pretty good!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good snowy morning MMC!!! It's really been snowing so pretty...BUT it's April!!! Enough already! LOL! I came in to work late this morning so I could go help with mom. I did NOT want to get out of my warm 'n cozy PJ's!!!

Hope you all had a nice weekend! We opened up at the lake & of course had the furnace running full blast!! So nice to be up & running again! :D

Our friend sang/played guitar at the bar up the road again yesterday. He's so entertaining! :) Fun times! Lucy enjoyed her time at the lake too!

Everyone, have a great day!!
