Good Morning, MMC!!! I'm just sitting in the waiting room at the hospital. Mom has been having some chest pain so her doctor ordered a stress test for this morning. Which her walking on a treadmill after her strokes should be interesting. At least we are already here if she falls and breaks something. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good Morning, Friends.
A new week has arrived quite dependably, right on schedule.

And of course, as always, so have our count figures.
Here they are, proudly presented:
Days to the Season: 176
Days to Christmas Day: 218

That 200-day Christmas Day Milestone marker? Well, it's getting closer and closer, Folks.
A scant EIGHTEEN days away, now. Barely over 2 1/2 weeks up the road.
Then a DOUBLE-100'S count, as we begin to move into faster track territory!

Not so warm yesterday and we had a respite from the rain, however brief. We have a stronger chance of precipitation today and tomorrow.
At this hour, we show 71 degrees here in the capital city.

I just read that the National Weather Service did officially upgrade the number of tornadoes that hit Connecticut to 4. Those storms were wicked. My wife's uncle still cannot get out of their neighborhood. He was in one of the towns where a tornado touched down in. He said that trees and power lines are still down everywhere around them. He said it looks like a bomb hit down the street from his house. Hundreds of cars damaged, homes, and trees down all over the place; it's a mess. We were not in any of those paths, but wow, it was pretty wild when the storms did hit here. Crazy huh?

I was watching the news this morning and could not believe all the pics of all the damage and so many people without power.

oh yeah, we have a new family member....this is Speedy

8 weeks old and he is very fast ! Penny is not impressed but I am sure she will grow to love him too.

wet here too, dampened attempts at fireworks last night, but many plan to try again tonight.
nice to hear about everyone's gardening adventures.Mine is all in now, just waiting to see how it all grows. I have a small vegie garden as well as some flowers.
Things went well at the sleep clinic for LittleCS, here she is all hooked up and ready for bed

oh yeah, we have a new family member....this is Speedy

8 weeks old and he is very fast ! Penny is not impressed but I am sure she will grow to love him too.

Well, we officially started packing today. We started emptying cabinets and shelves here in the apartment. We are still around four weeks away from moving, but we can start moving things into the place in about three weeks. It's exciting and yet nerve wracking all in the same boat. I am excited to be so close, in finally having my personal things, furniture and such around me once more. They've all been in storage since October last Fall and I do miss my things.

That is such happy news for you and the Mrs.!

Merry Monday!! So nice to have the sun shining. Typical day of work for me and then my daughter has a softball game tonight. Looking forward to the upcoming 3 day weekend...hope you all have a great day!

Almost all the fog is gone now and the sun is shining brightly ~ what a great start to the work week! I'm planning my week out this morning and then I might do a bit of gardening before working on a few projects for the store. I never did move the apple mint yesterday as it was way too wet out there for me. One of these days I need to buy some gardening boots!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

The pool is open! I worked all day Saturday (I have the sun-burned shoulders to prove it), but it's now clear as a bell. I have a 4-day weekend coming, and I plan to run the grill and the smoker all weekend on the deck. Y'all come!

We went to our church service, which is 9:30 - 10:30, then to the church where Elizabeth participates in their youth group from 11:00 - 12:00. After that, we went out to lunch with Mama and some other family members. Then Elizabeth's boyfriend graduated from high school, so we went to that. It was a full day in my "church clothes". I was glad to get home to my stretchy pants yesterday.

Good morning MMC! "Merry" Monday!!! So I get into work this morning & the AC is set at 65º!!!

Needless to say, it's not running now cuz I bumped it up! It's chilly out this morning - 60º & very breezy. Why is the air even on??? Brrrrrr!!!

We gad SUCH a fun weekend at the lake. It was so nice knowing mom was taken care of & I went to the lake Friday & didn't come home until Sunday evening! Friday night we had snacks at our trailer ~ I made stuffed jalapeno's. YUM! Saturday morning I watched the Royal Wedding, then 4 of us girls went to Amishville, Flower shopping. We filled the truck again! SO FUN!!! We met the boys at a local pub & we had cheese curds. OMGosh!! So, so good!! Then we went to another place where we split an order of brisket fries & we tried their bbq brisket pizza. Such yummy food!! We will be going back! We had lots of laughs & yesterday we had a flower planting party at the lake. Just a fun, fun weekend!

Then, I got the sad news yesterday that my moms youngest sister passed away. So sad. She is such a neat person & will be missed by many! She was really struggling towards the end of fighting pancreatic cancer, so she is now at peace & no more pain!

I just pulled "A Christmas Prince" up on Netflix. Might have to listen to that on Netflix this morning. Seems like a good thing to do today!

Thanks, Everyone!!! After an hour and a half, they finally decided that having someone who's had three strokes and 22 mini strokes on a treadmill wasn't a good idea. So we get to go back tomorrow morning at 7am for a drug induced stress test.

Happy Monday!
Somebody owes me a weekend---Apple, Microsoft, and Epson. It took most of the weekend to get the old computer migrated to the new one, identify software that would no longer run on the current OS, replace the obsolete software, get the printer to play nice with the new computer... Lots of little frustrations (and a couple of big ones) along the way. I'm looking forward to the Memorial Day weekend already!

 

[Holiday]

TGIF .... MY weekend started at noon today. My daughter has her junior prom tonight so I took the afternoon to get the house straightened up for pictures since it's still raining here and very chilly the pictures at the park are out of the question. Looks the rain will stick around through the weekend too. By the time it finally stops raining and the grass dries out enough to cut its gonna be knee high UGH.
Got a pot of ham and bean soup going, just need to make corn bread and dinner will be done Hope everyone has a great day!

Hope she had a good time at prom!!!

 

[Holiday]

I used to garden all of the time, had some really nice one's to. I got out of it, not really by too much of a choice (alcoholic ex wife, divorce, moving several times, etc...). I am hoping so much in my heart that my life has now finally settled down, I am re-married to a wonderful, beautiful, Christian woman and we just bought a home together. There, is where I hope, to once again get back into gardening. I also found that it was soothing to the soul, peaceful, good hard work, but yet fun and rewarding. And if you do things right and the Lord bless your hard work, then that soil that you toiled over will produce some good a yummy things.

The parade sounds like a really fun time!

I hope you are able to start gardening again! It's a lot of work, but those fresh tomatoes & corn on the cob are worth it!
