Finally cooled off a bit after the rain we had last night. This whole week is supposed to be in the high teens (mid to high 60s in fahrenheit), so it will be bearable. Feeling a bit anxious today as the FIL will be moving in with us. He's in his eighties and having bouts of dementia. So we thought it best that he stay with us. Spent most of the weekend getting his space ready. There's a separate living area and bathroom, so he'll have his own space. Fingers crossed all will go well.

He was also in “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear,” a Christmas movie from 1984.Sadly, I just read that the last surviving munchkin from the 1939 movie classic, The Wizard of Oz! He passed away at the age of 98 years young; God Bless him. Jerry Maren was one of the Munchkins of the "Lollipop Guild", he handed Dorothy the lollipop in the movie.
Gosh, I just love that movie!
I met Jerry Maren about 15 years ago here in Raleigh at, of all places, a Christmas show, downtown. He and others with him were selling autographed copies of a book. We briefly talked about the movie but his main concern was that the actors who portrayed the Munchkins were not getting any residuals from the movie and they were having to go to these events and sell books to make money. Sad, but my understanding is they had a choice back in 1938 and they decided on taking a salary in lieu of residuals. Don't know if that is correct or not.Sadly, I just read that the last surviving munchkin from the 1939 movie classic, The Wizard of Oz! He passed away at the age of 98 years young; God Bless him.
